Matthew's Ship

Ellie kicked things and yelled. She didn't like being grabbed by strangers, especially when they were most likely aliens.

Matthew sighed, before chuckling. "Alright. If you can prove to me you have the credits up front, and I'll give him to you."

Dawn nodded then frowned "If you have a way I can access my account, I can do a transfer. "

Matthew sighed, calling for someone to bring him a transmitter pad. The small, sleek computer pad came to life and he handed it to Dawn expectantly.

Dawn had to go through some security questions once she found her bank then glanced to Matthew "Right, where will it be transferred to?" She asked. The account only had just under 6000 in it, enough to pay the lower than average price with a little left over to live on for a short time, though she would probably empty it as soon as she could after this.

Matthew informed her of his personal account and watched the transaction, nodding in satisfaction. He stood and frowned, "Currently he's in the rehabilitation center... You can come fetch him with me but it might not be pretty." Two guards at the front door straightened and prepared to follow Matt to the Salt Rooms.

Dawn bit at her lip again then nodded. "Alright. I don't expect it to be pretty." She said quietly.

Matt and the two guards escorted her down to the rehabilitation centers. The cells they passed were occupied with various species who either wilted at the sight of Matt, whispered in anxiety or didn't look up at all. They all knew if they so much as glared at him it wouldn't end well, so they didn't. They came to the rehabilitation rooms and entered the one where Esk was in, the two guards blocking the door stepping aside as they went through. As the poor prisoner dangled from the ceiling, the torturer was just about to cut into his skin again, but Matt ordered him to halt, "The man's been saved." he said simply.

Esk's eyes were still closed, a defiant expression on his face. It was clear he was in absolute agony. He opened one eye, taking a deep breath. Saved? How? Why didn't he feel any sense of relief at that knowledge?

Dawn frowned and moved forward, looking to Esk. "I bought your freedom Esk." She said quietly.

He glared at her. "Why?" He spoke flatly, trying not to wince. Blood had pooled around his feet, making it even harder to keep his balance, he looked pale and he was shaking. Still, he was making a valiant attempt not to look pathetic or as wretched as he felt.

Dawn looked down then shrugged. "Because, despite the way you wanted to use us, it is the right thing to do."

Esk snickered, and immediately regretted it, hissing in pain as the movement jarred his injuries. "Then hurry up and cut me down." He growled.

"I don't know." Matthew said, now looking genuinely concerned as he looked at Dawn, "Are you sure you want this one? I have a few private clientele that could find a use for him if need be. He seems kind of a prick."

"This from the... the guy with the torture chamber... and the slave pens.. yeah, I'M the prick." Esk's eyes narrowed, oh how he wanted to get his hands on that smug asshole.

Dawn looked to Matthew and frowned. "I already paid, I am sure. And yes, he can be a prick, i know. That doesn't matter much. Please let him down now."

"Hey, man, I own the best smuggling ship this side of the galaxy. I'm just doing my job, and that's for whoever hires me. Right now, it's SIASC, simple as that." Matthew shrugged, but looked to the torturer. "Let him down."

The subordinate did as told, but admittedly looked a bit disappointed. Matt gave a small chip to Starr, "That'll release the collar, however for the sake of my colleague' and crew's safety, I'll ask you to only remove it once you've been dropped off. Is that okay?"

Esk dropped to the floor and his legs went out from under him, he simply didn't have the strength to stand on his own right now. He pulled his arms close, shuddering in pain. Much as he'd love to attack these people right here and now, he was in no state to do so. He looked up, glaring at the man who'd been torturing him, willing him closer. Just a little closer, just enough to grab.

Dawn took the chip then shrugged a little. "I guess." She said quietly. She wasn't that sure about leaving it on him, but she had to wait to talk to him until they were alone.

"The guards will help you to the med bay. I assume you want your... friend... To have medical attention." Matthew looked at the place before turning to glare at the torturer, "You weren't... maiming him, were you? Didn't we talk about this in your superior's contract?"

Esk muttered something in Satare and shakily got to his feet, still clutching his injured arms close to himself.
"You and your... staff... can keep well away from me." Esk threatened. "Unless you want them dead."

Matthew raised an eyebrow, pausing from berating his subordinate to turn and look at Esk, "So... You don't want to be cleaned up and washed off? Fine by me, but don't blame me if you get an infection."

Esk glared. He was still shaking, but he had a dangerous glint in his eyes as he watched the torturer. He lunged at him, trying to grab at any exposed skin and not really caring if he got shocked in the process.

Dawn took a step back before moving to get in front of Esk, though she didn't try to touch or stop him physically.  "Esk, don't. You are not strong enough right now. Please."

Esk growled. "Let me at him, I wanna take his eyes... "

"Esk, don't. " Dawn said, staying where she was. She wanted to yell at him that they needed to talk first, but she didn't want Matthew to know they would. "You should get cleaned up and heal a bit."

Esk glared at her. He didn't want anyone touching him. "Get out of my way." He hissed. Oh he knew he wouldn't get very far with this shock collar, but just one punch, was that so much to ask?

Dawn was very carefully not touching him or even trying to, she simply stood in the way. She sighed and shook her head, moving back but giving him a small glare as well. "Have it your way, then they can carry your unconscious body up to whatever room you are staying in until we get to the station we have to wait at." Why did males always have to be so stubborn?
