Upon Vestia: Chapter Sixteen

"All those aliens, always hyping up how great they are, and it always turns out to be a lie," James said sagely. "I'm not like that though, I mean I've been known to punch minotaurs. I'd be a proper villain, I wouldn't lose."
He watched as the guy went back into the train, "Ooooh nooooo. They so should not have done that. It is ON!"

"baby dragons? Oh Ellie's gonna squeal! Don't lose your voice Ellie!" Matt called after her and went to check on Thalia.

Kay smiled softly at the news. Names huh? hmm, now there was a request. He decided he had to stay on duty though, he could visit baby dragons later or something.

Esk glanced up from what he was doing, snorted and went back to drawing. "just what we need, more helpless infants."

Luka winced at the sudden annoucement and rolled over. "What?" She asked groggily, she'd been half asleep damnit.

Armin smiled to himself. "more free dragons, what a blessing is upon you dear Vestia." He told her.

Swarm came to see the babies.

Starr opened her door and locked it into the open position so the others could come in when they arrived before she went to sit beside the incubator again.

Shane headed for the room to see the babies. He smiled at Ellie when he saw her again

Ellie tried to keep her squeeing under control as she went to Starr's room to peer in. "Dragons, Shane!" She whispered.

"Don't worry about it, just more babies," James told Luka soothingly. "Go back to sleep."

Ethan shook his head. More dragons. Okay then.

Shane chuckled softly and came in, looking to the tiny babies then finding a seat nearby "Baby dragons" He amended then smiled at Ellie "They are so cute and tiny."

Asher was still sitting with the girl hatchling. He didn't want to put her back, she seemed so comfortable in his hands.

Ellie eyed him suspiciously, then went to peer in the incubator. "So cute."

"The one Asher is holding is female, the one in the incubator is male, and the unhatched one is female, though a little younger than these two." Starr informed them and smiled

"babies? who had babies?" Luka asked, confused. She'd totally forgotten about those eggs.

Swarm looked excitedly at the newborns. "One has not hatched" they observed, indicating the egg.

"The eggs Starr smuggled home from the other universe," James said. "Little baby dragons."

"Yes, she is a little younger than these two by a day or two, maybe as much as a week" Starr said and looked to Swarm

"oh.. " Luka sat up, blinking and rubbing her eyes. "i'm hungry... " She moved to get up. her head still hurt a little but it was a lot better than it had been.

Swarm nodded. That made sense. "They are all different parents yes? " They moved to get a better look at the one Asher was holding.

Starr nodded "Yes, they all have different bloodlines, They were given to me to help rebuild the star dragon population here, each of them has siblings in the other universe."

"Want me to bring you offerings of food, or do you want to go on this mission yourself?" James asked teasingly.

Asher moved his hand a bit so Swarm could see the baby dragon better.

"We... shall go together!" Luka declared valiantly. "but first.. i'm totally having a shower because ew." she felt sticky and gross, sleeping fully dressed was not a good idea. "

Swarm kept just out of nipping distance of the dragon, watching them curiously.

The baby girl was still sleeping, unphased by the attention of the others, though the boy woke and looked at them before heading for Starr for comfort.

"Aww he's scared!" Ellie whispered. "Poor thing." She decided to leave the babies alone. They were just too cute and she wanted to snuggle them but that wouldn't help. She headed out of the room.

"Sounds good. I'll be here, I'm your loyal sidekick, after all," James said cheerfully.

"Ellie" Starr called, holding the boy gently and close to herself "Did you have any name choices?" She asked, not wanting her to be upset or leave if she didn't want to "They will get used to everyone soon."

Ellie thought that over, smiling a bit. "Um, no good name ideas," she said. "Are gemstone names racist to dragons?"

Starr chuckled and shook her head "I am literally named Starr, no, names like gemstones are not racist" The boy was watching Ellie from Starr's hands,

"But it's not like, offensive to be associated with treasure-hoarding culture?" Ellie asked.

Asher was shaking with silent laughter, trying to not wake the girl hatchling.

"It is not offensive to be named after a beautiful stone" Starr said and smiled at Ellie. "What name did you have in mind?"

The girl squeaked and raised her head, looking up at Asher then over at Shane nearby before squeaking again.

"Jade, Sapphire, and Jasper," Ellie suggested. "Sparkly names!"

Asher gently petted the girl dragon's wings, and picked her up hesitantly. "Want to see Shane? He's your cousin, sort of," he asked fondly. She might not be able to talk, but she could certainly protest if she didn't want to be moved.

Luka laughed and staggered to the bathroom. "You're the best sidekick." She told him, and went to shower.

"I like Harper, Zara and Spyro as names" Shane suggested and cooed at the girl softly. He held his hand out, smiling when the girl reached out her neck to sniff his hand before climbing over.

Starr smiled at Ellie then at Shane "Hm, I may have to write these down to pick from them." She looked down at the boy she held who squeaked at her then looked back to Ellie again. He was curious about her.

"We can remember the suggestions for later consideration if that helps." The Swarm suggested. "We also have a great database of names if you wish for more."

James laughed. "Oh yes, I'm a great sidekick." He flopped himself down on her bed while he waited for her.

"I remember them," Asher said, since he couldn't hear Swarm. "We'll need to make an official list though." Lists! Always fun.

Starr chuckled at the two saying the same thing basically "Yes, a list of appropriate names for dragons, separated by boy and girl names to choose from, starting with those six. Maybe we can roll a die to pick?"

After she'd showed and brushed her teeth, Luka came back in a towel with another one around her head and started looking for clothes to take back into the bathroom to get dressed into. "Should have taken clothes in with me." She made a face. Oops. Ahh well, she wasnt overly shy about being mostly undressed in front of people anyway, and given how much of James she'd seen ahem.
