Good Cop Bad Cop: Chapter Two

Ellie watched Shane suspiciously. Was he trying to teach her things again? Hmm.

[Chuck some chargers in there too?] Kay suggested with a shrug. [We definitely need to start bulk buying them though, or we're going to get through so much paper and so many pens.]

Asher nodded, looking suddenly amused. "Plug them into one of us androids to charge, that should work." More seriously he added, "Or get one of those portable solar chargers."

Kay looked amused [The idea of plugging random things into you guys just seems somehow... wrong. Funny, but wrong. Hey we could always hook up a treadmill or something. Get Dawn to spin a tiny wind turbine.] He laughed silently.

Asher smiled. "If we're ever in a situation where we need to check something on a dead tablet, I think we'll have bigger things to worry about than how weird it is to plug something into someone to charge it. It's not that much weirder than a person plugging into a wall at night, is it?"
He laughed at the wind turbine idea, the thought of Dawn powering electronics that way was incredibly amusing.

Kay smiled softly and shrugged [I suppose not. Maybe we should invest in portable generators too, just in case all the electrics gets knocked out or we're somewhere with none. I don't think it'd be very helpful trying to drag a, for want of a better term, unconcious, android around because you ran out of battery. ]

Asher nodded in agreement. "Good point. Tala can carry us I'm sure, but that really wouldn't be ideal. Also terribly undignified."

[Extremely undignified, and I doubt she could carry all three of you. We need contingency plans, just in case. ] He nodded. [Or we could just hire some more minotaurs.] He smirked. [I might be able to carry you in minotaur form, that'd be a change from the usual wouldn't it? ] He looked amused.

"That would probably be too much even for her," Asher agreed. "As long as we have Vestia, we have a power supply. We should certainly give Matt a generator in case we're ever stranded on a deserted planet though."
"That's quite possible, I assume you wouldn't be a huge minotaur, but you'd probably be big enough to carry me." Asher laughed, "That would really be something to see."

Kay nodded, yep he'd be the shortest minotaur ever. He was okay with this. [maybe one day i'll have a reason to do it, and pay you back for all the countless times you've had to carry me around. Of course i'd rather you didn't run out of battery on me, I like you conscious and alive and all that. ]

Asher smiled. "I kind of hope I'll be conscious to see that, but I also kind of hope I won't be so I don't have to experience being carried. It would only be fair after the carrying I've done though."

Kay smiled. [If you desperately want to be carried I can try to do so. Or you can just wait till your turn to be the one in distress. You're overdue.]

Asher laughed and shook his head, "That's okay, I don't want to be carried any more than is absolutely necessary. You'll have to wait impatiently for me to do something dumb."

Kay smirked. [Don't worry, when it happens i'll make sure you know all about it then.]

"I'm sure you will." Asher looked amused. "Oh well, I'll find some way to pay you back."

Kay looked smug [You can try.]

"You don't think I can. I'm hurt," Asher said, amused. "I could always," he tried to think of a moderately believable form of revenge. It was harder than it sounded. "I could pelt you with paper," he said after a rather noticable moment of thought.

Kay looked amused. [Now that's just uncalled for.] He teased. [I might get a papercut!]

Asher laughed. "We can't have that." He smirked, "Also I can be insufferable next time I have to carry you. You don't want that, do you?"

[That could be problematic. I already hate having to be carried.] Kay smiled though.

"We have a deal then," Asher said. "If either of us is carried, we shall never speak of it again."

Kay smiled softly. [Alright. Though I think you'll always have the monopoly on carrying duty, the perils I suppose of a squishy fragile organic body.] He shrugged. Honestly he knew he'd be more likely to be too worried to take any enjoyment out of having to carry Asher.

Asher smiled back. He'd never teased Kay about carrying him, because he had never considered it, and even if he had he'd probably have decided Kay would just get grumpy. It was funny to joke about being insufferable people though. "That might be true. I have an oddly good track record compared to a lot of people on this ship."

Kay nodded [You're too sensible I think, and not nearly as easily hurt which helps. ] He looked approving. He liked sensible people. [Some of the people here are just extremely stupid.]

"That's true, I am very good at keeping myself in one piece," Asher agreed. "Whereas some people on this ship punch anything that moves. Or juggle bottles. Do you suppose immortality makes people forget common sense? It seems to have on some of the immortals here."

[Quite probably. I suppose when you can't actually die you take more risks knowing there's no real repercussions. As for some of the others, well, i'm not sure a few of them don't just have a death wish.] He shook his head [Or might just be completely insane.] He thought of Mourn.

"True." Asher smiled slightly. "Oh well, whatever their motivations are, carrying them is good practice. Carrying people is nothing like carrying boxes." He nodded sensibly.

Kay looked amused. [I would imagine not, no. I don't think i've really carried many people, everyone's always bigger than me so it's not really very practical. Plus if you have access to stretchers or gurneys you just don't bother. ]
