Good Cop Bad Cop: Chapter One

One week. Asher has to be mean, Kay has to be nice. Whoever gives up first has to write a story for the winner. Should be... interesting.

"What is Fast and Furious?" Mone asked curiously. She hadn't heard of that before and would use it to distract her from the needle. Yeah, she wasn't going to look at it, even if it was just a pinch

"You'll love it, Matt. It's the biggest pile of hot people running around saving the world in cool cars, and 'family values', and more cars!" James smiled at Moone, "It's this amazing movie series. Not sure you're old enough yet though." He looked sad.

Asher smiled innocently at Kay. Fast and Furious was a guilty pleasure of his too.

Kay had no idea what the hell it was, but he focused on setting up the bag for Moone and tossed his gloves into the trash.

"Hot people running around saving the world? I am THERE!" Matt grinned.

Kay looked amused and tilted his head at Asher. Hey, he'd shared his guilty pleasure. Terrible... terrible books.

"I might have to watch that before we let Moone watch that" Skye said uncertainly. Yeah, they hadn't seen that old terran movie series.

"movie night? we totally gotta do a movie night. Maybe some like.. disney stuff for the kids so they don't get left out. Ice cream and disney movies right?" Matt grinned.

"It's so gonna be your sort of movie," James said happily to Matt.

Asher caught Kay's look and smiled. Fair enough, they both had guilty pleasures then.

"Movie night!" James said. "Kids' table movie night and grownups movie night!"

Matt cheered.

Kay indicated he calm down before he ripped the needle out of his arm.
He smiled softly back at Asher and nodded. Yep, this could be interesting.

Moone giggled and smiled at the others happily, raising her free hand to wave at Shane when he came to the door. "Hi Shane."

James went to put away the blood from all the people who were done.

Asher smiled at Shane and went to help him. "You're here to donate? What's your opinion on action movies with cars?"

Shane blinked and wondered what one had to do with the other "Yeah, I guess, though mine couldn't be used by anyone else, as far as I know." He said then shrugged and looked at Asher "Action movies are always interesting."

[We were running low and figured with all the hybrids aboard, having your blood in storage just in case could be useful. I highly doubt we'll be able to find any other substitutes in an emergency after all. ] Kay nodded a greeting to Shane and unhooked Matt, labelling that bag and handing it to James.

Matt gazed longingly at the cookies.

[There's an entire KITCHEN to raid!] Kay told him.

"i know... but cookiesssss." Matt moaned.

[Then eat them, but don't complain to us when you get a stomach ache and start throwing up.]

Matt seemed to weigh up whether that was worth it.

James took the blood and stowed it, then came back. "You can't even taste them really, can you? Just like me." He sighed tragically. "Our lives are horrible, man."

Shane smiled and shook his head, going to take a seat "Well, at least it will be there if I need it, right?"

"Yeah I can't taste much of anything." Matt shrugged. "I dunno, has its advantages. Means I can eat a lot of stuff without gagging at least." He chuckled.

Luka wandered off back to wherever she'd been before this.

Matt waved "So keep me posted about movie night."

"Avoid the cookies, man!" James called, "Trust me, they just turn into weird mush and it's completely pointless to eat them!"

Matt paused. "You ate cookies?" No no, he wanted to know THIS story now.

Kay frowned and looked to James too, yeah, he was curious. That just... sounded gross.

Shane looked over to James also. Yeah, that was odd. He was glad he could eat a cookie.

"I was curious, okay?" James laughed. "it uh... didn't work."

"Androids aren't designed to swallow cookies," Asher said sagely.

"So much tooth brushing, oh my gosh," James said, feigning a haunted look.

"That... sounds horrific." Matt looked sympathetic. "I guess on the plus side, you don't feel pain so all you gotta do is dig out mush rather than wretch it up in agony." He chuckled. "Yeah.. lesson learned for both of us I think. Don't eat cookies, even if they look delicious."

Kay nodded. [I still remember you demanding to know what runner beans tasted like, wasn't that a fun night?]

Matt laughed. "Yeah that also so wasn't worth it. Those things were so fun to pick and all those little seeds inside them, they should have been tastier." He nodded.

"It could've been much worse," James agreed. "Like it was for you. It was just inconvenient for me, but you sound like you suffered complete misery."

"Of course, you don't even have taste buds at all so you had no reason to try," Asher pointed out dryly. "You were just silly."

"Yeah," agreed James, "At least Matt had a chance at happiness when he tried to eat beans I guess?"

Matt snickered. "I was young and stupid!"

[You still are.] Kay told him.

"Love you too little bro." Matt laughed, waved and headed out.

Shane just shook his head and laughed, looking to Kay then at the bags of blood.

Skye and Moone sat and waited for their bags to fill up so they could go.

Starr came to the door then stopped as if uncertain even now as she stood here.

Kay looked up to Starr, smiled softly and beckoned her in to sit.

[It's alright, there is method to this madness. We were running low on blood stock and as most of the crew can't really accept any blood except their own, we figured this was the most efficient way to ensure we had an adequate supply in case of emergency.]

Starr came and took a seat then smiled at Kay "Yes, that is a good thing, but I am afraid to have my blood just there if we are boarded again." She said softly.

"I think the benefits of having your blood on hand will outweigh the dangers if we're boarded," Asher said quietly. "But if someone takes the ship again, it's likely they'll manage to take you as well, and then they'll still have your blood no matter what you do. You might as well prepare in case you're ever mortally injured, it could be vital to your survival someday."

Starr sighed at that and looked away from him, staring at the wall as she thought about the pros and cons, the benefits and the dangers before finally giving a short nod. "Alright" She did not like this, but he was right, the benefits likely outweighed the cons.

Kay looked sympathetic. He recalled with a pang of unease the slavers and who knew what they were using his blood for.
