[Time Desync] Mourn's Upgrades

(The day after they left Vavaren)

Asher had set up everything he needed in the med bay. Wires, cleaning supplies in case gunk had accumulated in Mourn's electronic parts, the new processor, tools to connect everything together. Kay would be making sure Mourn stayed stable and unconscious while Asher worked. James was staying nearby to be useful if either medic needed something.
This was going to be slightly nerve wracking.

Kay shrugged. [She seems to like us, I trust her to give us at least a little alone time. Unless you've done something to annoy her I don't know about.] He shut the door behind them, locked it and glanced up at the forever covered camera.

Asher snickered. "I don't think I've done anything to make her mad. Have I, Vestia?" he asked, assuming that the audio feed was still connected.

"Hmm," Vestia said, pretending to think.

Kay shook his head. [Don't provoke her.] He looked amused.

"You know I'm always here for you, Vestia," Asher said loyally.

"Fine," Vestia said, laughing.

"Thank you," Asher said. He grinned at Kay.

Kay reached out a hand to pick a speck of glitter off Asher's cheek. [Green AND gold, quite the statement.] He smiled broadly.

"Gold just wasn't doing it, I needed the green for variety," Asher said lightly. "Are you jealous?"

Kay narrowed his eyes, but the smile on his face suggested it wasn't totally serious. [Don't even think about covering me in more glitter! Think of my reputation! I can't be scary if i'm sparkly!]

"I recommend staying at arm's length from me, then," Asher said seriously. "Or you may end up with green glitter on you too."

Kay tilted his head, trying not to laugh. [Alright then, How about instead... you tell me what you wanted to say back in the med lab?]

Asher smiled at Kay. "You're one of the most efficient, sensible people on this entire ship, and it is really, really attractive." He paused, "Is that something that's supposed to be attractive? Because it is."

Kay laughed silently at that, looking at Asher affectionately. [I don't know, but it's extremely flattering.] He beckoned him over. [Glitter be damned, come here. ]

"You're sure you want to risk your reputation like this?" Asher asked teasingly. moving closer. "Green glitter is no laughing matter."

[Well I do have another reputation to uphold. It comes in useful from time to time.] He smirked. [I think it's a sacrifice i'm willing to make.]

Asher gave a surprised laugh. "Fair enough. We have to make an effort to maintain both your reputations," he agreed.

Kay shrugged and pulled Asher into an enthusiastic kiss. Damn glitter could wait. It wasn't like the whole ship didn't know they were a couple anyway right?

Asher responded with just as much enthusiasm. Kay was amazing, he was happy, and the glitter was a minor nuisance at worst. What more could anyone want?

And the pair of them doomed the entire ship to more pain and misery as Kay lead Asher toward the bed.

Damn them both.
