Upon Vestia: Chapter Eleven

She blinked and nodded, "Yea...?"

Kay and Matt joined the others in the shuttle bay.

Mourn checked his weaponry and glared around, relieved at least this meant they should be getting rid of the teeny bounty hunter grrr.

Armin excitedly waited too, he'd cleared his room of webs because it was the polite thing to do and now stood waited to board the shuttles, looking around at his new friends and up at the camera with a little sadness. She was a nice ship, he'd miss her.

Shane looked up and smiled a little, heading for the shuttles to visit the space station. He smiled at Skye then at Ellie when they came in as he headed to the ship's shuttle.

Starr was in her shuttle, but she wasn't going anywhere, she was busy working on something she hadn't told the others about.

Moone was staying with the three babies and keeping them on the ship. (If the creator is staying, she's going to bring them to see her again.)

Mourn was looking around for the tiny bounty hunter unless he was distracted by someone.

"So who's with who?" Matt asked, edging over to Ellie and Shane. "You guys got plans?" He grinned knowingly at them. They should totally go do cute couple stuff right?

Shane looked to Matt then flushed and looked away "No, I don't have any plans yet"

Ellie grinned. "Let's all go explore together. Maybe they have a swimming pool or something."

Asher took the pilot seat of a shuttle. "Hop in, guys. Or at least, as many of you as will fit safely." He smiled.

Sara spent her time in the library now. She had actually, in a sense, moved out of Bianca's and made a home in a high shelf in the library. She spent her days giddily reading and was in no inclination to reveal herself to Mourn anytime soon.

Merith and Vanessa followed inside the shuttle in a somber silence.

Vestia was such a big ship Mourn really had no hope of finding her either, not without Vestia's help which wasn't happening. But nobody had died yet, so maybe the teeny bounty hunter had managed to fall into something and gotten herself killed, or gotten lost...

He would stick close to Skye.

"whoo exploring!" Matt chuckled at Shane's expression and patted him on the back. "It's okay man, i'll try not to tease you too much."

People boarded shuttles.

Skye got on the shuttle, looking to Aramin and giving him a smile

Shane smiled and got on the shuttle to go to the station "I just hope we don't have any more trouble with bounty hunters here."

Armin bowed his head to Skye and strapped in.
Shuttles were a bit awkward for a creature his size, but he did his best.

Matt frowned a little. "Should we maybe leave some sort of guard on the ship just in case? Hey Vestia, think you can handle yourself if anyone gives you trouble?"

"I can look after myself, don't you worry," Vestia said reassuringly, a bit of steel in her voice.

"You're awesome Vestia. But seriously, if it gets too much, get outta here and come back for us later. I'm sure we can figure something out. Keep safe okay?" Matt smiled reassuringly up at a camera before boarding the shuttle.

"Will do," Vestia told Matt. It was sweet that he was worried.

Once the shuttle was full, Asher would pilot it out of Vestia's airlock with whoever was on board, and request permission to dock from the station air control AI. Soon he was docking the shuttle in a port and the airlock would seal, allowing everyone to safely leave.

Everyone would make it safely to the station. whoo station.

The shuttle docked in Vestia's shuttle bay, and James dove out as soon as the door opened. "Smartship!" He looked up at the cameras in the wall in awe. "Wow. You're glorious," he told Vestia.

"Ummm, thanks," Vestia said, startled.

Mourn followed James eagerly, with Swarm spreading out behind him with an eager buzz of conversation as the lot of them exclaimed wonder and excitement at the huge cruise ship.

"Ship beautiful" Mourn agreed, patting the nearest wall affectionately. "And smart, and strong, and brave."

Kay shook his head at the excitement, bemused by it all. He looked to Rigel. [Would you like the tour or are you the sort to prefer to get straight to business?]

Vestia turned her lights pink at Mourn's praise. "I'm Vestia," she told James, "Welcome aboard."

"I'm James. The handsome guy over there is Rigel, and the terrifying brute is Tala," James said. "I'm Asher's hotter brother."

Tala seemed pleased to be called a terrifying brute. She flicked her ears proudly. "It is an honor to board such a fine ship."

Asher climbed out of the shuttle and stuck out his tongue at James.

James grinned. "Okay, Mourn, where to?"

"I get computer! And cables! " He looked to Asher. "Meet you in rec room 3!" He raced off to go get supplies.

Kay shook his head. [He is far too excited about this.]
He smiled to James.

James looked pleased. "Well this is a huge discovery. He has every right to be excited." He grabbed Asher's arm, "Lead the way!"

Asher tugged himself free, amused. "You, Rigel, and Vestia can handle this, I guess?" He asked Kay.

Kay nodded. [Go with your brother] He smiled softly, he understood completely.

Asher gave Kay a grateful smile and lead James toward the rec room. Tala followed, watching James suspiciously. Acus' property wouldn't be running away on her watch!

Swarm went with the androids, no way were they missing THIS show.

Kay shook his head and hoped like hell James was going to be okay after all this.

Mourn collected his bits and pieces and rushed back to the rec room eagerly.

"I am so ready for this," James said. He opened the panel on his arm to pull out the data cable, then started hesitating. "Uh oh, safeguards are kicking in. Damn. Help me out, guys?"

Tala snorted. "Silly slave, even your mind opposes this."

Asher glared at Tala. "Please hold him still and stop talking.*

Tala looked startled. "Under whose authority?"

"I'm the captain of this ship. Stop talking, and hold James still," Vestia ordered. "My ship, my rules."

Tala obeyed, letting Asher hand James data cable to Mourn.

"If gets too hard to hold, point gun at self. Or me... Stupid laws make him obey if organic life threatened." Mourn spat, and set up the laptop and taking the data cable.
"This take time, gotta be careful. Don't let him move too much." He pulled out his own data cable and plugged himself into the computer as well.

Swarm watched all this worried.

--You sure this is a good idea?-- they asked James.

"Yeah," James struggled in Tala's grip, programming forcing him to try and free himself, even though he had no desire to do so. "Better to get bricked, than to have to follow any more humiliating orders."

"Acus did buy you," Tala pointed out.

James nearly twisted free. "I'm okay with following the orders that aren't completely degrading, geez. Asher, can you point that gun at someone, please?"

Asher looked at the ground for a few seconds, thinking. It wasn't that he was scared that he might accidentally shoot someone; he was confident in his understanding of fun safety, and in the safety of the gun's design. But the amount of control that would give him over James--that was frightening.
He shook his head, trying to jostle memories of the gang who had attacked him from his mind.

"You okay, bro?" James asked, worried.

Asher nodded, drew his gun, and pointed it at Mourn, leaving the safety on. "Stop trying to free yourself, or I'll shoot him."

James stopped struggling.

Mourn laughed and ignored the gun completely as he plugged away at the computer. "Knew I liked robot medic. Robot medic sensible. "

LIke with Asher, the first step was the passwords. Mourn closed his good eye and focused his code cracking software on getting through the security.

Asher was not at all happy with this situation, a fact which he tried to hide by keeping his face carefully blank, and not saying anything.

James' password would only take a few minutes to crack. His firmware version was newer though, so he had a four-number PIN too, with a limited number of tries available.
