Upon Vestia: Chapter Thirty

Skye nodded and smiled a little "It's a little scary though, when you only see your own kind then see a city with the others."

"Um...I don't know" Shane answered then shrugged. Oops?

Matt wheeled into the room Shane and Ellie were in, some bottles on his lap. "I brought drinks!" He declared. Hey, he remembered there was a party. Vestia could tell people when they were ready right?

Asher shook his head, letting Kay pull away. "You don't have to get used to it. It's okay to have your own preferences." Yeah, that was pretty important. "My thoughts are all over the place right now, but that doesn't mean I should be doing things you're not comfortable with."

"Yay, it's Matt!" Ellie waved at Matt. "Did you tell the Silver Devil guys about the party? Cause we didn't!"

"Hey Matt." Shane said and smiled at him, going over to help set the bottles on the table. "I wonder how many will come."

Kay smiled softly. [Don't worry Asher.] He gestured they should keep walking. [Come on, let's keep walking.]

Matt hesitated. "uh.. was I supposed to?" He asked, putting bottles on tables. Some was beer, some was wine, some was just water.

"All right," Asher said. He still looked sheepish, but he tried to hide it. He moved to walk with Kay again.

"Nah, you weren't supposed to, I just wanted to know because we were just talking about whether they knew," Ellie said. She went to admire the beverages. "Nice selection you have there! I approve."

Matt laughed "hey, I pay attention. Not everyone drinks." He looked up at Vestia's camera. "Vestia? Can you let people know there's a party?" He looked thoughtful. "maybe.. don't tell all of them it's a party. Tell the lazy antisocial ones it's a meeting." He snickered.

"That's so thoughtful of you," Ellie said. "I would have just brought beer. Not the good beer either, just the cheap stuff." She really wasn't a very generous person, was she?

Vestia snorted. "You want me to lie to them? They'll be so disappointed when they find out it isn't a meeting though."

Matt cackled. "Or, they'll be SO relieved they'll stay!"

"Those antisocials? Nahhh," Vestia said with a laugh. "Okay, I'll tell everyone."
She'd notify everyone of the welcome home party, telling them it was a party. She didn't need anyone whining about another meeting, hah.

Shane chuckled and stood back, looking around "Is this all we need?"

Starr would come to the party, at least for a little while. Skye, Jewel and the others would come too.

"If anyone needs anything else, they can bring it themselves, right?" Ellie said, grinning at the others. "We've done plenty already."

James would be going of course, he was looking forward to celebrating a bit. Ethan would reluctantly go too, he wasn't very fond of large gatherings, but he had sort of promised to go. Tala went as well, because why not?

Asher winced when Vestia told him and Kay about the welcome home party. "We probably should make an appearance," he said reluctantly. He wasn't really in the mood for socializing, but he didn't want to be rude.

Kay looked dubious. [I say we turn up, then while everyone's distracted sneak out again.] He smirked. Yeah he didn't much want to do a party either.

Ivor wasn't sure about a party, that meant lots of people didn't it?

Silence however thought this sounded like it could be interesting so left Ivor behind to go investigate.

Swarm, having found their other selves, elected to go to the party because why not?

Esk grumbled and went back to bed.

Hewitt decided he'd go, just to see what sort of pathetic primitive nonsense this lot had put together.

Amity went along too to help out, after all, a celebration was somewhere a host should definitely be.

Armin couldn't go, he was still not quite strong enough to leave the room with his tanks in place but he told vestia to send his regards.

Luka was still with Rigel on the devil hah.

Mourn was still working on the devil and oblivious to any parties.

Matt shrugged. "I think we're good. I'm gonna go round up my brothers." He snickered, yeah both of htem he was sure would try to weasle out of attending.

Asher smiled slightly. "I'm all for sneaking out at the soonest opportunity." He headed in the direction of the party with Kay.

"We'll be sure to have another party once you're healthy again," Vestia reassured Armin.

Ellie giggled at Matt. "Yeah, drag all those brothers in! We need them!"

Vestia started up some upbeat pop music as people started arriving. She also sent in some bots with snacks on platters on their backs.

James arrived before long. Oh yeah, he was excited to celebrate the return of his friends. Yayyy.

Ethan wandered in, looking wary. He did kind of perk up when Hewitt arrived though, whoops?

Tala trotted in, and looked around with interest.

(just an fyi, I have a pretty serious tonsil infection and very very strong antibiotics so i'm not gonna be very regular at posting till I feel less dead. I only just woke up again after a 5 hour "nap". Oops)

(Man, that sounds painful. Here's hoping you recover quickly!)

Kay headed for the party, and would probably bump into Matt along the way.

"Hey!" Matt called, he looked up at Asher. "You're not short anymore." He teased. If he had time to think about it he'd probably be envious, but it was right now just kinda weird to have to look up at Asher after so long of him being also wheelchair bound.

Amity rushed around making sure people had drinks and refreshments and whatever else they wanted.

Hewitt sidled over to Ethan, smirking. "He's right at home here isn't he?" He gestured toward Amity. "As happy as any host could be." He laughed. Yeah they couldn't really be happy, but still, he was weirdly fond of the little hologram drone. "you on the other hand, look like you expect to be kicked at any moment."

Silence lumbered into the room, though the tiny snacks were not easy to pick up with her big clawed hands. Bah. She sorta stabbed a few of the tiny sandwiches and tried to eat them off her claws in a most undignified manner.

Swarm joined James.

(antibiotics are magic, i'm exhausted but the infection is fading. Still gonna be a bit slow though, sleepy.)

(Yay for modern medicine! Glad it's doing its job.)

Asher smiled at Matt. "Hey Matt. I have to say, it's strange to be one of the taller people on Vestia again. It's rather disorienting" This was the first time he'd been taller than Matt, and it was kind of an odd experience. He wasn't really sure how to feel about it, honestly. "Are you one of the masterminds behind this party?"

Ethan smiled oddly. "Emotions or not, it's pretty obvious his programming thrives on social events." He snorted, "I've never been so fond of this sort of thing though. And how about you? I thought you hated being near this many meat creatures."

"Oh hey Swarm," James said, grinning at the cloud of insects. "You're looking as handsome as ever, I must say."

"Mastermind? Nah, very little thought went into this." Matt snorted.

Kay raised an eyebrow.

"But go, it's gonna be great!" Matt insisted. "I'm gonna go find Esk"

"I am, as always, grateful I cannot smell them." Hewitt replied cooly. "Though occasionally the monkeys perform amusing little tricks."

Tala went to see Starr. "Greetings, Starr. How fare you?" she asked.

Asher laughed. "Good luck getting Esk to join in," he said. Then he headed with Kay to the party.

"You and me both," Ethan said. "Smell always sounded like the sort of sense you're better off without, not worth the trouble it comes with. Don't you feel gross imagining absorbing molecules of meat creature odor through your skin though? I mean, you always go complaining about air quality."

Starr smiled at Tala. "I am well, how are you?" She asked kindly. She looked around at the party and smiled. "They wanted to do the welcome home thing for you."

"I am also well," Tala declared. "It is funny how these people like to celebrate. I like it. They often bring good foods." She sniffed some cookies on a plate, and picked one up to eat, deciding it smelled safe for her consumption.

Starr chuckled softly and nodded. "That they do, but it is good."

"Do your dragon folk often celebrate when you are free?" Tala asked, popping the cookie in her mouth and chewing it. "They are so colorful and the young are so happy, they seem like a species that celebrates much." When they weren't being enslaved, of course.

"We have many festivals." Starr answered with a smile. "I hope to bring them back."

Tala nodded. "Good. Your people need something to celebrate." She selected another cookie.
