Skye nodded and smiled a little "It's a little scary though, when you only see your own kind then see a city with the others."

Mourn cackled. "No hiding, securing!"

Ellie clapped when the song was over. "We're so awesome, guys!" she enthused. She went to grab a beer.

"I guess I don't know the difference then, because that looks like hiding to me," Ethan said dryly.

Mourn laughed. "I no need hide, I good fighting." He nodded. "Just like eat in peace."

Matt cheered and applauding the band. "thanks guys! you rock!" He carefully navigated his way off the stage.

"That does make sense," Ethan decided. "Even if nobody would bother you, it gives you extra space to yourself, since nobody would join you down there. Well, I wouldn't, anyway." Nope, Ethan wasn't really into the idea of sitting under tables.

Mourn grinned and patted Ethan's shoulder. "now understand yes?"

Ethan flinched. "Yes, I think I understand now," he said hastily, trying to act as if he hadn't just expected Mourn to sink his claws into his shoulder or something.

Mourn grinned, he didn't seem to much care that his touch made Ethan flinch, or he didn't notice. "Good be home, miss ship. Good ship, lots of food, lots of space." He nodded.

"I can imagine," Ethan said, relieved that Mourn didn't seem to notice his reaction. It was frustrating to still be jumpy and suspicious after several months of freedom and safety. "The Silver Devil looks so small, you guys must have been so damn sick of each other by the end. Did you fight much?"

"I work. Roommate leave, let work." Mourn shrugged. "get more work done after. It good. "

"Sensible of you, staying away from everyone else," Ethan said. "Who was the roommate?" He'd seen Mourn's room and work habits before, he imagined the roommate must have practically fled when they'd seen who they were going to share with. Heh.

Mourn shrugged "death man. He no sleep well, bit distracting. He up and down all night." He shook his head. "Annoying."

Ethan snorted. Of all the people Mourn could have ended up sharing a room with, Esk had to be one of the worst options. "I'm surprised you two managed not to fight. He seems like he'd be territorial."

"Why fight? He just go away after a few days, much better then. " Mourn didn't seem to get it, but he leaned in to whisper "Kept scratching, maybe he have fleas." He nodded sagely.

Ethan looked amused. He kind of felt sorry for Esk, sharing a room with Mourn sounded pretty annoying. "Fleas?" he asked. "Doesn't his skin kill all living things that touch it?" Weird.

Mourn shrugged "Maybe he have special fleas, or mange." He snickered at the idea.

"Maybe so," Ethan agreed. "Or maybe he's allergic to you." Hey, people were allergic to cats, maybe they were allergic to cat people too.

Mourn laughed, he liked that idea.

"I'd ask him, but he'd probably shoot me," Ethan said.

Mourn tilted his head. "That be bad." He decided. "then have to repair."

"Yes, I'd rather skip that," Ethan said. "Let's just hope he isn't contagious."

Mourn shrugged. "Maybe he sick, he talk to girl doctor a lot."

Ethan blinked. "Damn, maybe you should be avoiding him more. I'm surprised you were put in a room with him if he's sick enough to need a doctor." He didn't know about Esk's crush on Dawn, he only knew Esk thought relationships were a waste of time. So he had no reason to suspect that Dawn and Esk's talks were anything other than health discussions.

Mourn shrugged. "Probably no contagious, nobody else itching no?"

"I guess not," Ethan shook his head. "Tell the medics if you start itching, maybe. I'm glad i have plastic skin sometimes."

Mourn cackled. "keep eye on crew yes? make sure nobody else get sick." Yes, that sounded like a good idea. "I busy, got code. Almost work out united code."

Ethan nodded. "If they start scratching, I'll send them to a medic. Have fun with your code, I guess."

Mourn nodded "I close. " He looked serious. "If robot rebelling work, they need code."
