Skye nodded and smiled a little "It's a little scary though, when you only see your own kind then see a city with the others."

"I will, though you too mustn't overload yourself. You are the leader of a rebellion in the works as well. I want you to ask if you need anything too, you are my son as well as my friend." Starr said gently.

Dawn chuckled and shook her head "Nope, no fights to break up." she said with a shrug as she went to her room with him.

"You've already done so much for me, I wouldn't be where I am today without everything you've done," Asher told Starr. He smiled softly, "But thank you. If I need your help, I'll ask. It's just so incredible how much has changed since we met," he added, "back then you didn't know about your past, and I had no goals beyond staying alive. I never imagined I'd be your son someday, or that we'd be in the middle of our species' efforts to be free. What a turn of events."

James laughed. "Oh good. I was afraid Esk might have gone off punching robots again, or maybe that Tala had gotten in a brawl. You never know with those guys." He set the box down when they reached Dawn's room.

Starr chuckled and nodded "True, we have learned and grown so much since we met. Some good, some bad, but all teaching us."

"Thank you, and no, they were well behaved, even with the surprising news about the update."

Asher sighed. "I've made some terrible mistakes in the past year, but this, I hope, isn't one of them. Hopefully everything we've learned is leading us right, both our peoples deserve their chance to have lives worth living."

James chuckled. "Good. You're back on medical duty in the new med bay here, then?"

"We have learned to coexist." Swarm told Ellie. "For the most part" "not all the time"

Ellie giggled. "That must be crazy, arguing with yourselves. Wait, what was it like the first time you had a disagreement? Do you remember?"

"Yes, they do" Starr agreed with a smile. "I think a part of being a good leader is being scared of failing the people we lead. It keeps us watching what we do and how it will affect everyone."

Dawn chuckled and teased him "Not even going to let me settle back in, huh?"

Swarm thought about that, chittering amongst themselves. "We remember, but was a long time ago." "Many generations."

"I suppose you're right," Asher agreed. "It's a shame it has to be so stressful though, I rather wish we could just be confident about all our decisions." He smiled a little, "But I suppose being confident, not questioning the morality of the situation, was how our people were enslaved."

"Aww, you can settle in first if you want. I'm just excited to have someone other than Kay and Tori around again," James said. "They're great, don't get me wrong, but we missed you."

"Did the first disagreement you had totally freak you out?" Ellie asked. She thought this split personality thing was neat, man.

Starr nodded, that did make sense to her. "Probably, no one can be right all the time."

Dawn smiled at James again "I bet Kay's been in there 'straightening' everything up, hasn't he?"

"A little" "a lot" "not at all" Swarm told her in a muddle of voices.

Hewitt laughed. "The thing's nuts, don't provoke it, you'll give it some sort of episode."

Asher sighed. "Sadly true." He smiled softly, "It's good to be back though, even with all this happening."

James laughed. "Yeah, he stress cleans so much. It's exhausting to watch, man. He and my brother are just the worst that way."

Ellie giggled. "Maybe you're right, Hewitt. Sorry Swarm, I'll stop."

"We do not mind." Swarm told her "We mind a little" "we aren't things." another protested. "We are many".

Hewitt kept laughing. Clearly he found the confusion of the Swarm very amusing. "Even hive minds can lose their marbles." He chuckled.

Ellie laughed and shook her head. "You guys are awesome. I'll stop, cause some of you sound like you sorta want me to." She smiled. "I should leave you guys to your news now, I guess."

Starr nodded and smiled "It is good to have you back and on your feet again"

Dawn chuckled and nodded "Yeah, cleaning and sorting are important, but they just go overboard with it."

"We should locate our other selves." Swarm mused.

"Thank you, it's a good feeling," Asher said. "It's going to be odd to be around Matt, I hope he doesn't mind my sudden and complete recovery too much." He thought it might be frustrating to see someone with the same issue you had suddenly recover. Asher felt kind of guilty about that, honestly.

"Yeah, it's a good thing we have a more normal work ethic to balance them out, those weirdos," James said, snickering. "Why they can't find a more normal hobby, I don't know."

Ellie nodded and headed for the door. "Gotta upload all that knowledge, or whatever you do, right?"

He has been doing better" Starr said then shrugged "If there was an option to 'fix' him so quickly, we would probably take it. Even with Sawna's help, he isn't able to recover quite as quickly as you have."

"Maybe we should look into finding them another hobby to keep them busy." Dawn said with a chuckle.

Asher nodded. "You're right of course. He's recovering, and it's not either of our faults that my species can be repaired easily while his species takes time. It does feel strange, though." Or maybe he was overthinking it. He did tend to overthink things.

"I think they'd just revert to cleaning things at the soonest opportunity. They're maniacs," James said. "Oh well, at least we're sensible."

Swarm split in two, one half remaining with Hewit, the other half going to figure out where their other selves had got to. This was happening more and more lately, bits of them forgetting or just not wanting to remerge. It was a bit concerning.

"See ya later plant guy, Swarm," Ellie waved to Hewitt and what remained of Swarm, and headed off.

Hewitt humphed and went back to watching news feeds, reading anything that interested him.

Starr nodded then shrugged a little "Probably overthinking it, even you couldn't heal right away, but now he is the only one in a chair."

Dawn chuckled then shrugged "Not if we find the right hobby"

"I do tend to overthink things," Asher agreed. He smiled. "I should get going, I'd like to see a few more people and maybe settle in a bit before I have to get back to planning rebellion stuff."

"I don't know where to start on that," James said. "I mean those guys are so dull, I've seen them checking tax forms together for fun when they ran out of stuff to clean in the med bay." Which was hilarious, honestly. Just... what even brought you to the point where you did taxes for fun?

"Alright, i will see you later then" Starr said with a smile.

Dawn chuckled and shrugged "Maybe a hobby that has to do with paper?" She suggested

"See you later," Asher told Starr, smiling back, then headed off. He'd ask Vestia if Kay was back yet.

"Get them into competitive paper airplane flying," James said. "I'm sure they'd go for that." He nodded sagely.

Starr would likely check on her egg and Armin.
