Upon Defiant: Chapter One

Dawn smiled at them both, happy to have friends to just be silly with for a little while.

Luka would eventually find a dress that didn't look totally terrible on her and gave a twirl. "What do you think?"

"Lovely" Dawn said with a smile as she watched Luka

James fanned himself. "Oh yes."

Luka snorted at James' fanning. "You." She wrinkled her nose at him and looked down at herself. "Do I really need more than one dress?"

"Not unless you want more" Dawn said, assuring her gently.

"You look good in anything, only get it if you want to," James said with a grin.

The Vavare nodded. "The final decision can only fall upon you my friend. But if it helps, we can I am certain come to some sort of deal for both gowns." Ahh ever the salesman that spider guy.

James nodded appreciatively. He could admire an enthusiastic salesman like this Vavare. He looked at Luka, "Well, I guess it's up to you now."

Luka chewed her lip, and nodded. "Okay. Let me get changed and we can talk." She went to do just that.

The Vavare nodded and took the rejected gowns to put away.

James casually fiddled with the panel on his arm while he waited, then forced himself to stop. Such a hard habit to break, seriously.

The Vavare watched him curiously but was too polite to ask.

Dawn had only picked out the one dress, since she didn't wear them often to begin with. She was happy with her choice though

Luka didn't wear dresses often either, but that was more because she didn't get a chance than anything else. She was a military girl, she spent most her life in fatigues.
But she also didn't have much in the way of clothing out here. It wasn't like she'd crash landed with a suitcase full of possessions after all.
She was going to FIND excuses to embrace her feminine side damnit!
Maybe then people would stop calling her "lad" and "boy" and similar. Gah.

She returned in her usual boyish attire, dress in her arms.

James gave the Vavare a sheepish look, "Old habit, humans don't like it much," he explained. He went to see if Dawn needed him to carry anything, even though he knew she probably didn't.

The Vavare nodded. "Because it reminds them you are not like them?"

He bowed his head to the girls and lead them to the till.

"Yeah," James said. He grinned, "Plus it totally fatigues the connectors, which isn't healthy."

The spider tilted his head at James, bemused by him. He was a strange android, certainly unique.
"Fair enough." He remarked.

He bowed his head to the girls and would come up with a deal for them, they'd haggle for a bit because he liked haggling and ring up their sales merrily.

Dawn would pay for the dresses, mostly because she just wanted to and she had a little money leftover.

Awww! Luka hugged her. "You're so sweet! thank you!"

The Vavare bowed his head to them both. "I do hope you enjoy them my friends. Is there anything else I can help you with today?"

Luka shook her head. "T.. thank you."

"Thank YOU." The vavare replied. "Your custom is always appreciated. I do hope we see you again."

Dawn smiled and returned the hug to Luka. She had always wanted a sister and was starting to think of her as as close to a sister as she could ever get.
She looked back to the Vavare and nodded "I'm sure we will come back, I like this store" She said honestly then looked to her companions "Where to now? Back to the ship to drop these off?"

"Sounds like a good plan," James agreed. "We can try to talk Tala into buying a dress next."

With Dawn's dress taken up and both girls purchases neatly wrapped and bagged, Luka and the others would return to the ship.

TIMESKIP - APPROX 1 WEEK TO SYNC TO VESTIA

-----Vestia's crew arrive-----

Ellie raced off the shuttle, cheering.

Asher waited for the others to disembark, setting up the lockdown protocol to protect the shuttle.

Matt would head after Ellie.

Armin would thank the group of them repeatedly, bowing his head as he did so and give them directions to his family shop if they wanted to come visit, he assured them they would be given a "saving my life" discount.

Mourn sniffed the air cautiously and headed out with Skye.
One hand on the hilt of his sword.

Kay waited for Asher.

Shane sighed and looked to Armin "See you around my friend" He said then hurried to catch up with Ellie

Skye looked to Mourn and smiled softly, going out with him and looking around curiously
