Ellie looked sad for a moment, feeling sorry for Kay. Obviously he was an odd duck, but he had reasons for that. "Seaweed is this stuff that grows in the oceans on Earth, and people dry it out and use it in food," she said,"Very nutritious, by the way. Sushi is usually when they stick fish and seaweed and rice together, maybe with other stuff. It's better than it sounds."
"Hey, Thalia," she added with a smile.

"Hey ellie.@ he released his hold on matt, walking beside him.

"Yeah food, Ellie was gonna find us something to eat. And then we're gonna go pretend we care about flowers." He laughed.

"I'm gonna MAKE you care about flowers even if I have to shove your faces in them to do it, and tell you about how rhizomes work," Ellie said sternly.

Matt laughed. "Oooo Ellie, you're scary when you talk horticulture."

"Hey flowers are nice." He huffed would you like to see them with my eyes..?

"See, Thalia understands!" Ellie patted Thalia on the shoulder, "It's us against the uneducated masses, my friend."

"Hey, my plant growing skills are illegal." Thaila smirked shaking his head, "And no way am I gonna side against my boyfriend."

Matt put an arm around Thalia. "I'll probably freak out again." He whispered, he hadn't quite gotten the hang of thinking loudly at other people.

"Hey now, I know a bit about plants. Just we couldn't eat em didn't mean we didn't have to help look after the damn things. Our foster mother was really strict on that, everyone worked the gardens... except Stellan, he always got out of it because he was awful with plants. " okay awful was an understatement, but he wasn't about to go into detail about what a terrifying freak of nature his youngest brother was.

Thaila nodded, "Alright then."

"You don't have to agree with your boyfriend when he's wrong," Ellie pointed out to Thalia, giving Matt a smile to show she was teasing.

"Oh he totally does." Matt grinned. "He knows why." He smirked at Thalia.

"Mmm, nope not gonna risk I like sharing beds." He grinned deviously.

Ellie facepalmed. "Teenagers."

"Hey, letme be the teen I never was." Thaila chuckled. "At least I try to not pick random fights."

"Eh, i'm sure those two are gonna get a superb lecture from my brother. He looked about ready to smack both their heads in." Matt chuckled. "They're lucky they heal fast, because they're so getting no painkillers.. ever."

"Actually protectors dont ironically enough." He mused.

Starr wasn't happy with them either. They made Heny cry, and you have seen how she is about children."

"Really?" Matt looked surprised. "That seems a little counter productive."

"Magic makes them heal faster yes but it really depends on which one on how fast they heal."

"How does the whole protector thing work anyway?" Matt asked, curious, as obviously Thalia didn't have one so was it just a special circumstance thing, a growing up away from that culture or what?

"Each keeper is technically suppose supose to have one since we are suppose to technically kill." He explained, "normally when we hit adulthood we have one bonded to us...but obviously that didnt happen for me."
