Upon Vestia: Chapter Five

"All right... right, we'd better get him to the med... the med bay," Asher said. "And... and do some tests to see what's needed."

"She sounds... yeah... Sorry man. " Matt didn't really know what to say there. "Did you want hookers?"

Asher nodded and initiated restart. Assuming he actually managed to power on again, he resolved to thank Mourn for his help, and maybe get him a gift of some sort.

Asher woke up about a minute later, systems coming online in a way that was incredibly smooth compared to last time. He felt his memories seat back into place, and his thoughts restore to their normal rapid speed. But something was different.
"Starr?" he said, voice shaking, but only because that was how he chose to express his emotion, "Give me an order, please?"

He shrugged, "It did help relieve tension but that about it, relationship wise I didnt want to end up like her so I sorta kept distance."

Mourn unhooked the cable from his own head and tied it back into his dreads. you never knew when you'd need a connector cable. He watched Asher warily as he rebooted.

Matt nodded. "Makes sense. Must have been tough though, living in her shadow like that."

Starr blinked then glanced around for something to order him to do, unused to such things herself. "Um, Asher, get that bowl and hand it to me" She said after a moment.

He hesitated, habit telling him to do as she said, then stayed where he was. "I think it worked," he said, a bit surprised. "This is oddly terrifying."

Mourn clapped his hands and laughed delightedly. "Robot free!" He looked to Lillian. "We did it!" He smiled broadly. "Liberating yes? Satisfying."

Starr smiled and shook her head a little "As close to free as we can make him." She said softly then moved to hug Asher "I am glad you are alright and still you"

"It had it perks...until you run into a pissed off house wife."

Matt chuckled. "Oooo, yeah... the scorned other half. Not fun. I had that happen once, I mean I didn't KNOW at the time but whoooo eee. Being able to fold space has never been so useful." He grinned.

Asher smiled. "It'll take some getting used to, but I think it may be nice," he said. He looked at Starr, "I will pay you back every credit you spent on me, whether you want me to or not."

He snorted, "Specially when they weild a frying pan... Not fun, not at all specially when you some how get the blame for it." He snorted

Mourn hugged Lillian, he was just too damn excited.

"What you do now robot?" He asked Asher eagerly.

Matt burst into laughter "A frying pan? Seriously? that's brilliant. And how is it your fault? So unfair."

"my sister is-was a siren so she could talk herself out of anything...me not so much." He explained, "And yea, broke my nose and jaw with the damn thing."

Starr chuckled then shrugged "You said that before, I don't guess I could stop you now, can I?" She said then laughed softly

"Ouch." Matt looked sympathetic. "My foster brother, the grumpy medic, you probably met him at some point, now he can talk his way out of anything. Which is.. kinda funny for a guy who doesn't actually speak but wow. Usually I just get punched in the face." He snickered, remembering last night. Yep, his nose still kinda hurt a bit.

Asher laughed. "I don't know what I'll do next, exactly. Just a few ideas that need some work, at this point." He patted Starr's shoulder, "Good. I just thought it bore repeating after all you've done."

He smirked, "By the way...hows the nose?" He asked sheepishly, remembering it now.

Ellie leaned against him, sympathetic. "You couldn't help it. I guess he couldn't either. Maybe we can redeem him with the power of friendship?" she laughed quietly.

"Ideas?" Mourn was curious, well.. he was a cat after all.
He looked at Starr. "Sunglasses new fashion statement?" He'd finally noticed now he wasn't busy with a computer and getting excited about code.

Matt rubbed the bruise. "Eh it's fine. You didn't hit me that hard. I've had MUCH worse."

He laughed, "Eh, I gotten into the habit of when disturbed while dunk to deck because otherwise I could end up with a dick drawn on my forehead." He rolled his eyes.

"Get my people some rights, free a race I promised to help, and tell Kay I'm not dead," Asher said cheerfully, "Not necessarily in that order."

"Oh man, I always threatened to do that to my brothers but never actually did. Then again... pretty sure I wouldn't survive it."  He shrugged. "Oh well."

Mourn studied Asher's face bemusedly. "Kay grumpy doctor? One you so protective of?"

Starr smiled and took a step back, nodding.

he smirked, "Probably a good thing." He paused, his mind admittedly still on some of Matt thoughts he decided to just stop the awkwaardness and 'test' the waters with a kiss since matt did move close enough.

Okay he hadn't really expected that, but he didn't fight it. In fact, he rather easily sank into the kiss, pulling away after a moment, face flushed as he laughed "so much for needing to be drunk"

"Yes, the grumpy doctor. He isn't actually that grumpy," Asher said.
