Unity Station

First topic message reminder :

Just outside of Imperium space, a small but well equiped research station.

Unity is a joint venture between multiple worlds, hence the name. Xenobiology, anthropology and astronomy are some of the things researched here.
There's a small school, a few shops, one or two tiny restaurants and a coffee shop but generally speaking, the majority of the inhabitants are either researchers or family of researchers.

The chief of medicine is an insectoid woman named Yessalia.
Chief of security is a man named Tias.

Kay nodded and forced a weak smile at Zara. He was trying to be polite, but he wasn't really good at it.

Jarral frowned a little. "I do not know how..."

Asher nodded at Starr's words, frowning. He tried to smile when Zara returned though

Starr might detect some magic from Zara. Compared to a lot of the crew it wasn't all that strong though.

Zara smiled, although she watched the trio carefully. Their expressions seemed a little off to her. "Where should I take this?" she tugged on her backpack strap.

Danika shrugged and smiled "The same as you did when we were kids. Just talk to one another and be kind."

"Almost everyone is up in first class, but you can pick any empty room really." Starr said, moving to head back in to show Zara around. "I'll show you around a bit."

"First Class?" Zara hesitated. That was... really really tempting. But if everyone was there, then she definitely shouldn't be there. She'd just be discovered faster.
Damn.
Trying not to think about all the luxurious things she might be missing out on as she moved to follow Starr, she said hastily, "That's all right, I think I'd rather to stay somewhere a little less fancy."

Asher guessed Starr hadn't sensed anything dangerous, so he relaxed somewhat. He looked to Kay questioningly, wondering what he wanted to do now.

Starr would start the tour, showing Zara around the main areas of the ship and letting her people know to be in human form or not in the hallway. "We have several species on board, in case our little group didn't tip you off."

Kay watched Zara and Starr go and smiled weakly at Asher [Still want that tour?]

Jarral looked thoughtful. Be kind, hmm. "i promise nothing." He told her honestly.

Zara smiled to the two, then headed off into Vestia with Starr.

Asher smiled back, then looked to Kay again. "Yes, I would like that tour. It'll be a nice change of scenery." He added, "Not that I don't like Unity, of course. It's very nice here." The place just happened to be extremely small.

Kay nodded. [Then come along.] He'd take Asher to the medical room first.

"Not even to try?" Danika asked, tilting her head curiously.

(Asher and Kay head to Vestia!)

Jarral's shadows wrapped closer around him. He looked a little uncomfortable. "I am not who I once was. "

"You aren't yourself?" Danika asked, confused at his words. He seemed like the same person to her, just older and with the shadows now.

Jarral stared at her dully. He didn't much want to go into the shittiness that was the past decade. "That is not what I meant." He started to walk again, not looking at her. "I see the world far more clearly than I ever did previously. I have had gods and demons in my head. I have grown and I have learned and what I have learned has changed me, forever. " He shook his head. "I was an idealistic child, I believed in my Lord and I believed in the fair judgement of the Elders. I was wrong."

Danika frowned and followed him, listening to what he said. She reached out to take his hand, wanting to comfort him somehow. "I'm sorry for the bad stuff that happened to you." She said sincerely

Jarral pulled away as soon as she tried to touch him, recoiling. Old habits died hard, even now that Fate didn't throw visions into his head, he still didn't like being touched.

He tucked his hands deep into the baggy sleeves of his robes. "You have nothing to appologise for, you did nothing wrong." He told her.

Danika withdrew her hand, holding it in her other hand in front of her. "I know, but I still wish you hadn't had to have bad things happen." She said softly.

"I would not be where I am were it not for the path fate set me upon." Jarral reasoned. "I am where I am supposed to be."

Danika tilted her head a little at that "Then fate wanted me to be your friend, cause that's the path I choose." She said then smiled softly.

"I am not certain it works that way." Jarral told her, but he got the feeling there was no arguing with Danika so he just nodded. "What else is there to see here?"

danika explained some of the things they had here, including the library where they also had the school. She wasn't sure what he would like nowadays.

"library?" His attention perked up at that. of course libraries in this realm were often disappointingly generic, especially when contrasted with the library of his god, but books and language were and always had been his passion.

Asher smiled in greeting to Dawn. "Hello Dawn, it's good to see you again."

He led Kay and Dawn out of Vestia and into Unity, heading for the medical facility.

"Hello Asher, how are you?" Dawn asked, walking with the pair.

Danika nodded, glad to find something else he was interested in. "Yeah, a lot of their books are on science and whatever their experiments are on. Not easy to read for me."

"I'm well, and better since you guys arrived," Asher responded with another smile. He was worried about what the doctors might have to say about Esk, but he was trying not to seem worried. And of course, it really was nice to have his old friends back after so long, even if it was a little nerve wracking.
"How about you? I hope things have been going well lately."

Dawn smiled at Asher's first words though her smile faded at his question and she shrugged. "As well as can be expected. I'm worried about Esk, of course. I hated having to kill and revive him even though it was necessary."

Asher nodded, the smile fading away at Dawn's words. "That must have been difficult for you, and I'm sorry you had to experience it. Let's hope that the doctors have good news, at least." It was a greater good sort of thing Dawn had had to do, and he knew how painful that could be. He wanted to talk to her about it, but he also knew that it would probably be better for him to talk to Dawn about it when Kay wasn't listening.

Dawn nodded "It was hard on everyone." She said, looking around as they walked together.
