A huge North American city, built in a mishmash of styles from many eras of architecture. the spaceport is bustling and filled with cruise ships, racing yachts, and transport craft. It's full of shops, clubs, gardens, and tourist attractions.

The weather is currently cool but sunny.

The bowling alley wasn't hugely busy at this time of day, but there were people at a few lanes, practicing together. Mostly older people, who were most likely retired.

Nobody really noticed two more people coming in, except the skinny teen at the front desk who looked up and smiled an awkward smile in greeting.

Helen returned the smile kindly as she came over to the desk to get a lane and the shoes.

The kid completed the transaction, but gave James and Helen odd looks. A woman coming in here with her android apparently wasn't a normal occurrence.

James smiled winningly at the kid, took his shoes, and went to pick out a ball for himself.

Helen chuckled and followed James "Just don't throw out your shoulder again before we can get it permanently fixed. I don't want to take you back to the ship damaged." She would feel so bad if he got hurt having fun with her.

"Good point. Guess I'd better bowl left-handed today," James frowned, "This is going to throw off my incredible aim, isn't it? Crap."

Helen chuckled and paused at the table to change shoes when they reached their lane.

James mournfully chose a ball, put on his shoes, and headed over to their lane to give it a try, left-handed.
The ball didn't go straight into the gutter, but it did end up there. James really wasn't left-handed at all.
"Hope you're now on top of your game than I am," he told Helen.

Helen chuckled and picked a ball, going to try her luck. She managed to knock one side pin down and shook her head a little "It has been too long. I need practice."

"Good thing we're here then," James said. "I'm sure you'll improve, you seem like the sort of person who could get good at this." He watched enviously as someone a few lanes over rolled a ball down and knocked over all the pins. "You gotta beat those guys for me."

Helen glanced over then chuckled and shrugged "Maybe in the next game, call this one practice or a warm up." She said cheerfully.

"Yeah, practice a bit, and then show off your skills. You have to defend our honor," James said. He smiled at her.

Helen chuckled and tried again, hitting off three on the end that time for a total of four for that round. "Your turn again."

"All right, maybe I'll do great this time," James said. He sent a ball down the lane, and huffed as it hit exactly one pin. "Darn it."

Helen chuckled lightly and looked to him "Well, now you know which way you need to make the next one go." She offered with a shrug

"Guess so. Practice makes perfect and all that," James said. When it was his turn again, he looked at the ball thoughtfully. "One try with my right hand couldn't hurt, right?"

Helen frowned then shrugged "I don't know, it could if the last weld isn't strong enough." She hadn't been there of course, so she wasn't sure at all.

"Yeah," James sighed. "You're right of course." He'd keep bowling left-handed for a while. He did improve a bit, at least.

Helen got better with the practice, starting to get strikes about halfway through that set.

Eventually James decided that hey, why shouldn't he show off a bit? He switched to using the ball right-handed, and sent it down the lane, looking disappointed as he knocked down half the pins. "What? I'm better than that. Maybe the lane's not flat enough," he complained.
The welding in his arm must be impairing his ability, dammit, but he preferred to blame the bowling alley for bad construction.

Helen looked at him and smiled, though she was worried about his arm. "Maybe we should look for a repair place while we are here, someplace that has the right parts to actually repair your arm instead of patching it?" Terra was bound to have a place like that, weren't they? She had no idea, she had never owned an android.

"Maybe we should. I know Mourn ordered a replacement part to be picked up on Mars, but my bowling will be better if we get it today." James smiled. "I have no idea if repair shops usually stock arm pieces though." He looked thoughtful.

Helen shrugged "All we can do is ask, if they do we can get that done, if they don't we just have to wait until Mars."

"Guess we might as well. Okay, let's find this repair shop, if there is one." James went to take off his bowling shoes.

Helen nodded and went to change back to her street shoes too then returning the bowling shoes to the desk

"We'll bowl against you guys later!" James called cheerily to the Terrans who were bowling, before heading out the door with Helen.

Helen chuckled, since that seemed to confuse the terrans. She looked around once they were outside then pulled the map out to look for an android repair place.

If there was one, it wasn't marked on the map. They might have to search online, or try to find an android to ask or something. Darned tourist maps.
