UPON VESTIA: CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

Kay looked amused at that remark. [You're probably right. And bottom bunk, because I wasn't willing to argue the point. There were about 12 of us in one room, it was fairly cramped.] Not that he'd spent many evenings IN his bunk considering. Nope, his evenings had been spent locked in an old bunker hoping like heck he wouldn't get out and nobody would find him.

Ivor shrugged. "I do.. don't know..." He came out into the hall and closed the door carefully behind himself. "You have animals on a ship?"

"If they have no choice, then they are still slaves." Armin bowed his head.

Sawna smiled at that then shrugged "Hugs are sometimes longer, if the people involved want them to last that long, but that is pretty much all there is to them."

Asher smiled at Amari. "Come on, let's go see a little more of Vestia. Does that sound good?" He was a little worried about making too big a deal out of hugs too soon.

Amari nodded, though did hold a more confusing look on his face as he studied Sawna more, "...soul not from here." He mumbled, trying to understand the possibilities before looking at Asher, "Y-yeah it does.."

Sawna chuckled softly and nodded "No, I am from a different universe than the others. I chose to come here."

Amity tilted his head. "you can detect that just with a look?" How curious.

Asher blinked. Okay, so Amari could see when someone was from a different universe? Whoa.

"Different, hue, design?" He let out a frustrated sigh, there wasn't a word in common to explain and arran was something most people couldn't understand due to it animal like sounds. "Smell different too, but smells can lie."

"That's pretty neat that you can tell," Asher said. He smiled proudly at Amari.
He did wonder what the heck Amari's parents were though. Did Marcus have any abilities he hadn't mentioned? Arran weren't a secretly magical species, were they?

(Asher to do list; pester marcus about this)

He shrugged, "I guess..."

"Have a lovely day sirs." Amity piped up, smiling broadly.

"You too, Amity, Sawna," Asher said. He smiled, then wheeled toward the door.

Amari would follow Asher, letting him lead the way.

"Until we meet again" Sawna said and waved tot he pair before going back behind her bar

Asher led Amari out and down the hall. Hmm, where to next? "There's a guy I'd like you to meet today or tomorrow," he said. "He's my coworker, you'll probably recognize his smell when you meet him. He's a good guy, although he can seem kind of serious at first."
He wanted to get that meeting with Kay and Amari out of the way, ASAP.

"Alright." He nodded, looking around curiously but sticking close to Asher, he was quickly putting names to smells for future encounters.

"Vestia, can you ask Kay to meet us in rec room four when he's done with breakfast?" Asher asked, wheeling toward the teleporter again.

"On it," Vestia said. She'd ask Kay to meet them in the rec room when he was ready.

Amari would just causally follow, not acting out of place.

Kay finished his breakfast but took his coffee, refilled to get him through this, and would nod farewell to those in the dining hall before going to meet Asher.

Starr waved to him then finished her meal, getting up to put the dishes in to be washed

Asher led Amari to the rec room. "Kay should be here pretty soon. You can stay near me, or look around a little," he said. This was kind of stressful. Unlike unflappable Amity, and Sawna who sort of knew Amari, Kay and Amari had only met once, and Amari had been unconscious for most of it. Oh dear.

Kay headed for the rec room.

Matt piled his plates onto his lap and carefully wheeled to where they could be put for cleaning.

Armin went to help Starr with dishes.

"Okay." He nodded, looking at the rec room wondering what was in it.

There was a pool table and a table tennis table, and some boxes of games against one wall. This wasn't one of the really popular rec rooms, it was just here.
Asher kept an eye on Amari while he looked around.

Amari was drawn to the balls, slightly toying the tennis balls. It wasn't long before he found out they were bouncy.

Asher watched, smiling as Amari bounced the tennis balls. If the kid could relax and get used to this room, that'd be great. It'd make this meeting easier.

He clearly was fighting the urge to go into full 'feline' mode as he played with the ball.

Asher tried to decide whether he should stop Amari before Kay got here. He didn't want the kid too energized, that'd just freak Kay out. "Amari, how about you come wait over here with me? Kay should be here soon," He said gently. "We can take the ball back to your room and you can play with it later."
