Upon Silver Devil: Chapter Four

Dawn would be alright, she just got bored laying there alone and without a project to do.

Rigel nodded, there wasn't much of anything to say to that. If she was determined, they would be able to find a way.

"On that we agree then." Esk told her. "lots of places to get some space." He paused. "Do you want to be alone now?"

Dawn shook her head and smiled at Esk "You're fine here. If I wanted to just be alone, I would have told you to go away when you came in." She said then turned a little and picked up a book off her desk, recreational reading this time instead of studying. "I was reading this when I went to get something to eat."

Tala gave Rigel a toothy smile. "I greatly look forward to hearing of what this ship will do next. Be well, Rigel." She turned to go.

Esk opened one eye, looking at the book. He didn't really DO reading for recreation. It wasnt' something he'd ever much understood. "What is it?"

"Be well Tala." Rigel said and closed his door to rest a bit longer

Tala headed off to go work out, she figured it was worth it even if she would be back on Vestia and able to use the gym later today.

"It is called 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer'" Dawn said with a smile "Quite entertaining for such a historical book. Want me to read it to you?"

"I'm not a child." Esk told Dawn flatly. Not that anyone had really read to him much as a child.

"I didn't say you were, you don't have to be to enjoy hearing a story, otherwise there wouldn't be books on audio files." Dawn retorted with a shrug.

Esk snorted. "I'll stick with movies." He closed his eyes again.

Dawn shrugged and turned so she could finish eating and read her book quietly since he didn't want to hear it.

Esk fell silent, resting while sitting upright. Hey, one advantage to living most of his life on the move was that he COULD sleep in awkward postions. Not well of course, but at least he could micro nap.

Dawn stayed quiet, letting him rest even after she had finished eating.

Esk snoozed lightly. He wasn't an overly heavy sleeper, infantry soldiers couldn't be, there was every chance they'd be killed if they slept through noise and chaos. But it was safe here, he trusted Dawn. Even if he'd never quite admit that.

After a while the Silver Devil would enter Terra's atmosphere, and head in toward Ottawantreal.

Vestia would hail the Silver Devil in greeting, and open her shuttle bay for it to come in.

"Good to see you again Vestia." Luka told her over the line as she brought them in. She got onto the intercom "We're back, prepare for docking!"

Esk jerked awake at the sudden noise. "wha?" He asked groggily.

Mourn kept working because hey, he couldn't hear anything.

"We are home." Dawn said, looking over to Esk.

Asher grinned at the news. Vestia was his favorite home he'd ever had, and he was glad to be back. He'd unbuckle himself the moment they were down, eager to get off the Silver Devil and see his loved ones.

Moriah looked excited too, she'd missed her family while she was away, and she loved Vestia and all her open space. It would be good to be back.

Tala seemed less obviously excited than the others, but she was looking forward to eating a few good salads again. She'd head down to get the airlock once they landed.

Esk shot Dawn a wry smile at her calling Vestia home. "yeah..."

Luka landed the ship and secured everything that needed securing.
"Time to rest now old girl." She patted the Devil's controls.

Dawn stood and stretched, starting to pack her personal things like the books. "You feel better?" She asked curiously

Rigel would be the last off, making sure everyone was off if they didn't live here at least.

Asher headed off the ship, Moriah not far behind.

Tala headed off too, happy to return to Vestia.

"Not really." Esk replied flatly. He stretched and got up. "i'm gonna find some damn bug spray before I go back to my room." He scratched his head again, eugh, damn Felid.
He wouldn't bother going to get his stuff, he'd come back for it later. He just wanted off this tin can.
"You got everything?"

Mourn looked up, mm, they were back, but he was kinda comfy here and in the zone. He went back to his code, Rigel might have to evict him.

Luka waited for Rigel.

Dawn chuckled and nodded "I think so." If she didn't, she would just come back later.

Rigel came to knock on the door, checking to see if Mourn had gotten his stuff yet.

"let's go then." Esk let Dawn lead the way.

Mourn didn't respond, he couldn't hear knocking after all. He just kept on typing, loudly.

Dawn led the way, meeting up with the others as they left the ship for Vestia. She headed for her room to put her things away again.

Rigel opened the door,glancing in then going to where Mourn could see him "Hi Mourn, we're back"

Mourn looked over. "Hello Captain" He laughed. "I working." He pointed. "Code complicated, lots of work. I fix, just take time."
