Hytar's Ship

Vicky was busy setting up her quarters, after some negotiations and the like she had join Hytar group for a while. Busily she set up her gaming system, though knew since the new upgrade she wouldn't be playing all night. While many races found sleep annoying she found it delightful being able to do it now.

Hytar watched Rigel carefully, considering what he said. "What isss thisss ssspecific job?" He asked at last, unable to resist the desire to murder slavers. "How many? Who'ssss holding them? Where?"

Swarm rattled off the number of dragons they'd seen in the hold.

"wait, queen?" Lope asked. "Royalty?"

"Avolor Hold" (Is that what I named it before?) Rigel said once Swarm finished with the numbers list. "Yes, the Queen of the star dragons. Royalty, though she doesn't have a planet to live on."

"Should we have mentioned the name of the place yet?" James muttered to Rigel. They weren't supposed to trust Hytar, everyone kept saying that at least.

Rigel looked to James "He has to know the target."

James looked doubtful, but nodded. He supposed Hytar would never have agreed to sign a contract before knowing where he'd be going to carry the contract out. That would be dumb.

"Sssso, their queen issss ssstill free? Interesssting." Hytar nodded slowly. "I've heard of thisss place. They hold more than jusssst ssstar dragonsss."

Swarm nodded. "Yes, many different species of dragon." They listed off species.

"We want ALL of them saved." Luka clarified.

"that issss... quite the assssk." Hytar mused.

"Yes, it is." Rigel said then smiled "Which is why we came to you instead of taking them on on our own."

Hytar chuckled. "Ssoo, you wisssh me to infiltrate thisss hold, free asss many of the captivesss asss possible and sssaughter any ssslaver we encounter?" He had a nasty gleam in his eye.

Luka looked anxiously to Rigel, she didn't like how gleefully Hytar seemed to take all this.

"Yes, that sounds right," James said. "But emphasis on freeing captives, rather than killing the slavers. Killing slavers is just icing on the cake, rescuing people is the primary mission."

Rigel nodded after James spoke "Right, getting the slaves is the primary part, but once they are safe, you can do whatever you want to the slavers."

Hytar nodded. "And what, assside from the enjoyment of killing ssslaversss, isss in it for me?" He asked calmly, clawed fingers stroking his cup thoughtfully as he considered the request.

"Well, of course you would get paid." Rigel said with a shrug. "Name the price and we can start negotiating."

Hytar thought about that. "I have little need for money." He told Rigel. "But perhapssss you can do sssomething elssse for me inssstead." He glanced to the sour looking young woman who'd sat in complete silence all this time.

"Boss?" Lope asked, looking confused.

Hytar waved a hand dismissively at him and returned his attention to Rigel. "it isss my underssstanding that you ssstill travel with a group of missssfitsss on board a large cruisssse sssship yesss?" Oh yes, he'd been curious about the situation Vicky had come from alright?

"Yeah, I guess you could call the ship large, and her passengers misfits," James said hesitantly. "What do you want with them?"

Rigel nodded, he understood that money wasn't everything. "Yeah, that's one way of describing them."

Hytar smiled. "I have, in my care, an individual who requiresss a certain... level of care and teaching. I have neither the time, nor the resssourcsses to provide what he sssso desssperately requiresss. "

The female at the table narrowed her eyes at Hytar.

He waved his hand at her. "Yesssss yesss, I know you will not leave hissss sssside either." He looked back to Rigel. "I will bring you thessse dragonsss, but in return I want you to take thessse two, find them a teacher, keep them ssssafe. They may yet be of usssse to me."

Luka frowned. "What sort of use?" She didn't like this.

Hytar chuckled. "My dear you are very sssussspiciousss. You ssshall have to trussst my word that I mean neither of them any harm. My home sssimply isssn't the right place to keep them, they would benefit far more from ssseeing the universsse, asss we all do, don't you think? I have powerful enemiessss, more powerful than you can imagine, I do not wisssh them to get a hold of thessse two and do who knowsss what with them. You." He looked to Rigel again. "Ssshall keep them sssafe for me, or asss ssssafe asss isss possible in sssuch a universsse. You will find them a teacher and I am certain they will become valued memberssss of your crew."

"What kind of teaching would they need?" Rigel asked curiously. It didn't seem that bad of a compromise, take two people in return for freeing so many.

"the girl, not ssso much, ssshe is a fasssst learner... the boy however? Well, perhapssss it would be sssimpler to jusssst meet him?" Hytar suggested.

The girl still looked dubious. she seemed to have a sort of silent conversation with Hytar, who remained smug as ever.
Finally she stood up.

"She is a telepath?" The Swarm asked. They recognized that weird silent conversation thing.

"indeed." Hytar nodded.

"We have a lot of telepaths on our ships" Shane piped up.

James frowned. Hytar seemed very evasive in his explanations, no wonder Esk hated him. "You can explain the situation, and we can also meet this kid," he suggested.

"Oh it'll become very obvioussss very quickly my dear android." Hytar smiled.

The girl left the room and shortly returned with a young man, she was guiding him with one hand on his shoulder.

He looked rather freaked out, he kept rubbing his head.
he was a strange looking guy, one of his eyes seemed to have duplicated pupils and like the girl, they were a deep blood red colour.

He was of ruddy complexion, his hair a blueish black colour and messy as all heck. He had a lot of freckles and a cleft lip. One arm was held close to his body, it seemed to be wasted and shorter than his other arm, the shoulder on that side raised a bit giving him a lopsided posture.

He frowned deeply as he saw all the people, blinking a few times and making a strangled gurgling noise of protest.

"Thisss isss Ivor" Hytar introduced the guy, who continued to stare at everyone with wide eyes.

the girl kept her hand on Ivor's shoulder, reassuring him silently.

Luka frowned. "What's wrong with him?" She asked bluntly.

"yes..." Ivor spoke.

Luka frowned even more. "What?"

James couldn't help but stare. He knew it was rude to stare, but it was kinda hard not to when Ivor looked so... Different.

His eye though, and the girl's eyes... They looked a lot like Kay's. Interesting. "Hey man, good to meet you," James said to Ivor, finally getting his manners back together.

Shane tilted his head then smiled a little "Hello Ivor." Was this the person they had hurt when calling for Swarm?

Rigel nodded and looked from one to the other of the boy and girl then Hytar. Hm.

Ivor stared at James. "You... you're quiet." He kept on staring. He had an accent quite similar to Esk's.

Hytar settled back in his chair and helped himself to a danish.

"He can't control it." Lope whispered. "made him a bit... you know, cuckoo."

"Don't... don't whisper. 's.. 's rude to whisper." Ivor mumbled, rubbing at his head again. "shhh shhh"

Lope shot the devil's crew a 'see?' look.

Luka looked worried.

Swarm was fascinated. "You're a half breed." they stated.

Ivor cried out as Swarm 'spoke'. "too many, too many, too many."

The girl grabbed both his hands and pressed her forehead to his.

"You haven't learned to block" Shane said, getting up then frowning and glancing around the room. Yeah, there were a lot of minds here. Hm, maybe that bracelet thing that blocked psychic communication? But would that hurt him to suddenly be in silence? Maybe change it to a 'mute' instead of a full cut off? Starr could do that, she had studied all that kind of stuff.

James did his very best to not look like the kid weirded him out. "Yeah man, I'm an android. We're telepathically silent." He frowned as Ivor freaked out, "Is he okay? Would an anti-magic charm help?"

Tala watched silently. She found this all rather interesting, if silly.

Ivor calmed down, slightly as the girl let him go.

"Con.. constant.. the noise.. wht.. what bracelet?"

Hytar licked the sugar off his fingers. "assss you can sssee, he needssss help. They had him in an asssylum, thought he wassss jusssst insssane. "

"they?" Luka asked.

Hytar nodded. "Oh yessss, he'sss Hexenfolke. Curiousss issssn't it? What are the oddsssss of two of them? " He smirked.

"What do you mean?" "two of whom?" Swarm asked.

Ivor clutched his head again.

"Ssssilence, take him back to hissss room will you." Hytar told the girl. "Keep him calm." He looked to James. "Unfortunately the lack of any noisssse is even more disssstresssing to him, he needssss to learn control, but Sssilence and her mother have been unable to help asss much assss I had hoped. They aren't experienced enough in dealing with a half breed ssssuch as he, hissss sssspecific needssss are unique to him and require the assssissstance of sssomeone quite creative and magically adept."

Silence took Ivor and left the room again. The boy was whimpering.

"in hisss current sssstate asss you can well imagine, he isss a liability." Hytar continued.

"Why are you helping him? What's in it for you? What's his relationship to you?" Luka asked. she didn't trust this man, at all. He had to have some angle.

"Doesss it matter?" Hytar asked. "You want to help do you not? I can ssssee it on your facessss." He chuckled. "Do asss I asssk and you ssshall get your dragonssss."
