Deryn went to pour Skye some more tea, then poured Orel some more tea too even though he protested briefly that he was okay, thanks, really.
"You going to show her your room?" Deryn asked Orel innocently.

Orel blushed. "Mooooom."

"What? You could show her your computer stuff," Deryn said, still oozing innocence.

Skye gave them a smile at the refill of the tea, drinking some more then looking to Orel then his mom. "I don't know the tech codes like he does." She said then looked back to Orel again. "But I wouldn't mind seeing your room."

Deryn smiled at Skye. "He's so smart, I'm sure it'll be interesting."

Orel looked embarrassed. Darn it Mom, why do you have to do this? But he got up and smiled at Skye too. "Come on, you can admire my, um, decorating choices."

Skye chuckled softly and stood to follow him to his room.

Orel's room was small and cramped, it would probably be hard to even unfurl his wings fully in here. There was a desk with an old monitor and keyboard on it, and a just as look computer next to it. The walls were covered with posters of various Artuvian celebrities and magazine clippings about them. There was a little bookshelf with books on coding, second, third place, and honorable mention trophies, and a rather large collection of books about children who solved mysteries.
Orel smiled sheepishly, "Sorry for the mess," he said, indicating the floor which had some clothes scattered about it. A few toy robots stood off in one corner, waiting to be programmed with instructions.

Skye looked around the small room and smiled a little. She didn't mind the mess, though she looked more to the posters and awards than the clothes. "You have been in a few competitions, haven't you?"

"A couple of them, yeah," Orel smiled. "I've never won, but I got close a few times." He went and brushed some dust off a silver trophy, "Coding competitions, a couple of sports events. Nothing super exciting." He looked proud though.

"Winning a trophy is exciting, even if it's not first." Skye said, looking at the silver one then a participation one. "Just going to such a place has to be exciting. We always had to stay home and take care of the farm."

"You never got to compete?" Orel said sympathetically. "It's a good feeling, you should try to find a chance to try it sometime."

Skye shook her head and smiled a little. "No, we never got to go anywhere or do after school stuff." She said, of course that had more to do with keeping Moone's secret than the farming, though farmers didn't have extra time for that extra stuff either.

"Sounds tiring," Orel said. "You really spent that much time farming?" He'd grown up in town, he had no idea.

Skye shrugged a little. "Mother and father were, and my 'job' was taking care of Moone, so there wasn't much time for anything else for us."

"Why couldn't Moone and you leave the farm?" Orel asked curiously. He went to power on one of his plastic robots and load up a program that made it repeatedly walk at his piles of clothing on the floor. Heh. Quality coding.

"Moone was too young and mom and dad needed me to do stuff sometimes. I made supper a lot for the family and when Moone was old enough she helped me."

"Ah," Orel smiled at Skye, "Well you were a better kid than I was. I always complained a lot about housework."

Skye chuckled softly. "Well, if we complained, we didn't get to eat until the chores were done." She may have been joking a little

"My parents were probably too nice to me," Orel said, amused. His plastic robot got turned around and started repeatedly running into his foot.

Skye chuckled softly and shrugged. "Maybe, maybe not." She said and knelt to turn the robot around in another direction.

Orel watched Skye move the robot. Oh man, her wings were so pretty. Help. He hurriedly looked away. "Um, what sort of movies do you like?" He asked awkwardly.

Skye smiled and looked back up to him. "I like a lot of different kinds of movies. Horror is about the only kind I won't watch."

"Not crazy about monsters sneaking up in the dark?" Orel looked slightly amused. "How about action adventure movies? With people taking over governments and stuff?"

Skye chuckled and stood again, nodding. "Yeah, those are alright, most of the time."

"Maybe we should go to a movie sometime," Orel told Skye. "Could be fun, right?"

"That would be fun." Skye said with a smile. "What kind do you like to see?"

"I'm fond of action movies, sci-fi, stuff like that," Orel told Skye. "You must have some sort that you prefer too, right?"

"I like the sci fi, they always have interesting gadgets" Skye said then shrugged "I like more based on the movie itself than just the genre. There are good and bad in each one."

Orel nodded. "Sensible. Let's go see a movie sometime." Yay, plans!

(Should we leave these guys alone since they'll most likely just talk awkwardly for hours? lol)
