Upon Vestia: Chapter Fifteen

James narrowed his eyes, realizing he'd just given Esk some great ammunition to annoy him with. Oh well, too late now. "Yes it's annoying! How could it not be annoying?"

"I could," James laughed. "So where were we a few minutes ago, anyway?"

"The spiderkin planet." Luka admitted. "didn't you recognise it?" All those spiderwebs, it was hard to forget.

"We were in the sky, we couldn't see much detail," James said sagely. "We were looking for you in the spaceport."

"We figured you might have wanted to check out some other race's ships." Skye added with a nod

Luka's eyes widened. "oh.. I didn't even THINK of that! We were looking for you two." Yeah she'd been way too distracted actually flying. "Could we see your space port?" She was curious okay?

Skye giggled again and looked to the others "I don't mind"

"Let's go!" James said, grinning.

Luka grinned. "computer, teleport us to the space port." She instructed.

Skye looked around the spaceport and smiled a little. This was the biggest one they had on planet, so there were a lot of different kinds of ships here to see, including Vavare ships.

"Ooh, ooh, I'm gonna choose a ship to captain someday," James said, looking around at the ships with interest.

Luka looked around in wonder. "Look, bio ships!"
The Vavare ships looked partially grown and partially spun, like giant cocoons.

Skye tilted her head and went to look at the other bioships. That was cool that they came to her world to her thoughts.

"Bioships, nice," James said. "I always wanted a ship that could talk back." He was joking of course.

"I don't think these ones are that sort of bio ship. They look... organic but not alive." Luka tilted her head, it was weird. She kept looking around.

Skye shrugged and looked to the other ships, curious about all of them "I didn't realize so many others came, even with our moon base to stop newcomers."

"they mostly look like trade ships." Luka remarked, noting the makes and models excitedly. "Your people don't like outsiders either?"

Ethan wandered off to look inside a small ship.

James followed Luka and Skye curiously. "Man, outsiders are dangerous, keep them away," he laughed.

"Depends on the outsider." Luka sounded slightly annoyed.

"We have to make sure they aren't a people that would harm us, even unintentionally" Skye said with a shrug. "Like some creatures have diseases that we would die from."

"Oh," James nodded, "Makes sense." Also raiders. Oops. He looked guilty.

Luka nodded. "you never know. Sensible to screen any visitors. I wonder how much artistic license they took with these programs, do you think they're totally realistic or a bit idealised?"

"Idealized" Skye said with a nod "I have noticed they left all security out, probably for safety concerns, but most of it feels right"

Luka nodded. "I admit, i'm curious about how much of the Imperium they've actually got on file. I doubt small towns are much of a security breech but even so... it's strange to think that there's aliens out here doing exactly what we're doing, wandering around alien worlds on a holodeck exploring. I'm not sure if it's nice.. or slightly ... unsettling."

"We so need to find out after this. I want to see the Imperium!" James said.

Luka smiled softly. "We could have a look, see if they have any of the colonies on file. " She liked the idea of seeing a familiar sky again. "oh my... that's a S17 class cruiser!" She ran off to get a closer look at a small very modern looking ship tucked away in a corner.

James followed Luka, "That's a good thing, I take it," he said, amused.

Skye chuckled and followed to see what she was talking about.
