Upon Vestia: Chapter Fifteen

James narrowed his eyes, realizing he'd just given Esk some great ammunition to annoy him with. Oh well, too late now. "Yes it's annoying! How could it not be annoying?"

Skye frowned and shook her head "Two can play that" She said softly and called for the control panel. She would change where they were to being on a submarine, together on an observation deck to actually see the mermaids in their home under the ocean. With it being the holodeck, the 'observation room' could take the entire holodeck at least for now.

(Wait did they go back to Artuvia?)

(yep, she changed it to Artuvia and underwater.)

(Oh I see, hahahaha)

James laughed delightedly. "Can't let them do all the messing around, huh?"

Ethan jumped as the scenery changed and his horse vanished from where it had been walking behind him. He looked around hastily.

Skye grinned at them then looked out at the city as they approached it. There was a 'tour' voice above them, listing facts about the underwater city as they approached it

Luka looked startled, her horse disappeared and now they were.. underwater? She noticed James and Skye "oh there you are!" she looked around. "where are we now?"

"This is the mermaids' main city, Atlantica." Skye answered Luka and looked out then glanced to them. "You said you were watching the mermaids before"

Luka snickered. "i said nothing" she went to peer out a window. "how deep down are we?"

Ethan shook his head. "We wouldn't watch mermaids. You're imagining things."

"What, don't you two like scantily clad fish women?" James asked. He went to gaze out into the water.

Ethan snorted.

Luka made a face. "Not even scantily clad fish men, it's the fish bits. " She shuddered at the thought. How would you even? no, don't think about logistics, don't... ever.. think about logistics. She shook her head vigerously to try to shake that mental image out.

James burst into laughter at Luka's fairly obvious train of thought. "All you need is a bit of ingenuity!"

"James," Ethan said, slightly annoyed by his brother's gutter mind by now.

Luka sputtered and snorted, a combination of disgust and amusement. "You're so gross James." She shook her head, laughing. "so.. so gross."

"We are at the bottom of the ocean, about 3 miles beneath the surface" Skye said then looked to the others "Mermaids are like fish, they drop eggs that are then fertilized by the male, they do not have, um, 'relations' like mammals." ugh, bad topic.

Luka stuck her tongue out. "see, fish people.. gross." Still, she stared out the window. It was weird being underwater like this.

"You say that like there's only one way to have a good time with someone," James said with a haughty sniff.

"Holodeck, teleport James forty feet left of his current location," Ethan said.

James yelped, and was promptly teleported out of the room and into the 'water'.

Ethan looked smug.

"We can teleport people!?" Luka looked out into the water for James.

Skye shivered and frowned when Ethan did that "Get him back in here" She said, not liking the thought of him being out there, even if he didn't have to breath.

James turned to glare at them, treading water to stay where he was.

"I didn't know we could do that either," Ethan admitted, "Just a lucky guess." He shrugged at Skye, "Holodeck, teleport him back."

James reappeared, still glaring.

Luka patted James on the shoulder. "Well now we know we can send people away if we want to here. Which is interesting." She smiled. "Welcome back captain."

"Are you alright?" Skye asked James after he returned.

James laughed. "Fake water? I'm fine!" He dripped on the floor, making a big puddle around himself. "Want a hug, guys?"

"No," said Ethan.

"computer, dry James off." Luka instructed, keeping just out of hugging reach.

"Nooooo," James wailed as his clothes dried. "Why, Luka, why?"

Luka snickered. "You could always go back out there."

Skye smiled and shook her head, looking to the city underwater again "It is pretty out there" She said softly

"I could," James laughed. "So where were we a few minutes ago, anyway?"

"The spiderkin planet." Luka admitted. "didn't you recognise it?" All those spiderwebs, it was hard to forget.
