Quinn was saying nothing, now licking at the remaining liquid in Vanessa' forgotten drink before reeling back and sneezing. "W-Wow..."

"oh man.. " Matt noticed the scary ultra strong alchohol and went over to Quinn. "I think.. uh.. if this is even stronger than Heny's super whiskey, we should... dispose of this safely." Was he actually being responsible? wth? Eugh.. still, if it was like the super whiskey he didn't much want to have to deal with someone with serious alchohol poisoning. Also, kids were about and that drink was glowy and glowy stuff was tempting right? He found it tempting...
"You okay Quinn?"

Quinn almost had a dreamy look to her as she had incredible interest in the drink. "It's tingly... And salty-sweet... And with a bit of sour... almost like liquefied candied caramel apples... And has a very dense amount of arcana in it... I like it a lot..."

"Well don't say that!" Ellie told Quinn, "Now I want it!" No no no, drinking magic booze was a bad idea. NO.

Quinn giggled. "I wonder how much stronger it is than normal, if it would affect Vanessa like that..." She made the glowing drink float. "Do you think it's a staple drink at the Guild?"

Matt eyed it suspiciously. "If it can get Vanessa drunk, it'd probably kill us mere mortals." Which was a shame, because man he was curious. Would a sip hurt? Probably. Eugh.
"Where'd she get it from? Does she have a secret magic booze stockpile or something?"

"She probably made it. She did say it's made differently, remember? Anamcara have a lot of time to learn different trades..." Quinn took another sip, looking pleased with herself. She hiccupped.

Ellie sighed mournfully. "Stop showing off drinking that stuff, you're making me want magic booze and I know it'd probably kill me or turn me sparkly blue or something."

"Maybe when she's in a better mood we can ask her if it's dangerous for you guys." Quinn giggled, licking the bottom of the drink as her snout was stuck in its rim.

"Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind being blue and sparkly. I'll ask her sometime," Ellie said. At least she was distracted from her disappointment by this!

"You sure it's okay for you to drink Quinn?" Matt asked, watching her. Hey, who knew what sort of drunk she was. This could be interesting. "How you feeling?" He grinned. Hey, you always found out who someone was when they got drunk right? Vanessa remained grumpy, Kay got stupid and moody, Esk became tolerable. Now.. was Quinn gonna be a sobbing wreck sort of drunk, a fun drunk or a really damn annoying one? He took a seat beside Ellie "What do you say we drag her along to the arcade too? Wanna come to the arcade Quinn? If you earn enough tokens you can trade it in for a sparkly pencil!"

"Heck yeah! Come on, Quinn! Get a sparkly pencil!" Ellie liked that idea very much.

"Sparkly pencils!" Quinn cheered haphazardly along with Ellie as her shadow stretched. Third's form was wobbly and vague, as if he had a hard time keeping himself together. "Sparkly what?"

They followed along anyway.

--TIMESKIP: FOURTEEN DAYS LATER--

Merith stared outside at the darkness of space. He recognized this. He new that odd purple haze that littered the area as it grew closer, the haze seeming to move like a stream in a purposeful manner. His legs trembled, as well as his hands until Vanessa laid a careful one in his own. They looked at each other, to which Merith had turned to the melancholic Heny who tiredly rocked two children to sleep. She said nothing, the dark and fury-bound grief in her eyes refusing to meet his gaze.

Quinn was twitching. Her nose quivered and she was glancing around, beginning to pace back and forth with growing unease as she began to feel a distant growing presence of her own kin. John was with Sonata and Lilian, who were focusing on getting the kids in order. Cassie bounced excitedly while the Terran children seemed more nervous or even bored than anything.

Shock was also staring out into space, in a separate room, a bit awed by this. This was really happening. He could hardly believe it.

Sara was running around trying to find ways to help the people on the ship get ready, when suddenly an odd feeling would occur to Vestia. It felt like someone was hailing her through radio but at the same time it was not. Still, it seemed to work that way...

Ethan was getting used to Vestia. Sort of. He avoided the others as much as he could, but he didn't hate them or anything. He just wasn't comfortable around people in general.
He had binged a surprisingly large portion of the chapter books in the children's section of the library already.

Ellie didn't suggest any more parties, but she did hang out with her friends a lot. Even Luka. Although she was still kinda mad at Luka for being so argumentative humph.

James did janitor stuff, goofed off, and generally wasn't terribly useful. He didn't flirt much at all, but otherwise he seemed normal. for the two weeks of travel.
He was totally disturbed by Heny giving birth, so Ethan ended up coming in to help for that. Ethan wasn't squeamish at all.

Asher decided he liked his new brother as a result of that.

Vestia answered the radio. She stated her currently visible hull identification, as well as her true identification to the Guild, "We seek sanctuary and come in peace, and bring passengers who are prepared to be tried for their crimes," she said.

For a moment there was radio silence, before the feminine voice replied back, "Who are the fugitives?" She sounded a bit breathless, as if she had been holding it a while. She had no intention of sounding rude, just wary.

"Merith and Vanessa. We also bring Heny, but due to the intervention of her creator, she no longer remembers the crimes she committed, and we don't believe it would be fair to treat her as a criminal," Vestia said.

More silence. After several minutes, she replied again, this time more firmly, as if elated or angered. It was hard to tell which. "Please follow the escorters to the docking stations."

With that, suddenly the space around them morphed, hidden beings that had camouflaged themselves allowed themselves to be seen. They looked like bright blue birds, their feathers twinkling like stars as they spread out in a V formation around Vestia and moved forward slightly, waiting for her...

Vestia followed the escorts, nervous, but knowing that they had to cooperate fully with these guys.

Kay had gotten through the birth fine, with the help of that talking necklace he'd recovered from Starr. He was rather grateful he had a strong stomach though, damn the process was gory.

He'd spent a lot of time avoiding people unless he had to work, he'd been more antisocial than ever since the mirror universe and as they neared the guild, the anxiety was almost too much to bear.

He watched the purple haze, chewing his lip anxiously. He hated this, flying headlong into the unknown and the executioners axe hanging over two of the crew's heads was too horrible to think about, yet he couldn't do anything BUT. How were they going to defend Merith and Vanessa? Would the guild even allow them to? Who were these people and was Vanessa right? could they be trusted at all?


Matt had spend his time distracting himself. cleaning, talking to bots, swimming, spending time with his friends, his brothers, thalia. Wedding plans had been put on hold for now, it didn't seem appropriate to think about the future right now.


Esk did what Esk always did, avoided people when he could and was generally abrasive when they tried to approach. Though he hadn't been quite so antagonistic since the mirror universe, and he seemed to be tolerating Kay a little better. Certainly he'd given up on the death jokes, not that Kay noticed or was at all thankful. Spoiled little brat.
Still, now they approached the guild he watched out a window in fascination. If he was worried it didn't show, his face was as blank and devoid of emotion as it ever was.


Mourn mostly left Ethan alone, unless it was to gleefully inquire about how he was settling in and what he was doing with himself. But Mourn slept a lot and was pretty fiercely independent so most of the time he was busy doing other things and ignored the android.
Now he and Swarm were standing together on the observation deck watching the approach to the guild. Mourn had a grin on his face, oblivious or simply just not giving a shit about the trial while the Swarm was absolutely in awe of this new place, a repository of so much knowledge, they couldn't wait.

"What those?" Mourn asked Swarm.
Swarm tilted their head, staring at the blue creatures.

Luka sulked for a few days, but she'd eventually get over herself and join Ellie for some get togethers. Now she paced her room, waiting for them to land. She didn't like this guild, she didn't like this situation... she was really starting to wish she could just go home and forget any of this crazy stuff was happening.


Armin had ceased his sewing to join the others in watching the approach to the guild. He was slightly uneasy about it all, but also extremely curious. He had faith the Weaver would see justice done, he'd prayed she would, and whatever happened, he knew it would be fair and it would be right. His faith comforted him, despite his trepidation.
Besides, he did like meeting other cultures.

The birds leaned forward slightly as they sped up. The purple haze suddenly rushed forward, before disappearing. Where there had been nothing but distance stars, was a new solar system. It consisted of several planets of varying degrees of climates. They were escorted to the closest asteroid belt, landing on a station. It was obviously packed, with so many different species of colors and on varying levels of health (some how many that were recently injured were here, being quickly ferried away on stretchers as the chaos was ordered as well as it could be by overseeing Caretakers and peacekeepers. Eventually the crowds became more uniform lines farther away from the docking areas, the station protected by some odd looking forcefield that kept the vacuum of space out and proper air pressure in. The birds landed, and each of them formed into some manner of glowing orbs as an oddly familiar reptile-like woman, Quartermaster Arya, was swiftly walking towards the ship, several peacekeepers inbound and between them, heavy and runes manacles that looked almost medieval...

Eugh, manacles. Kay flinched at the sight of them.

People here were hurt? Was this partially a hospital? Every instinct screamed he should help but he restrained that and instead clasped his tablet tightly to his chest and waited anxiously for the peacekeepers to board.

Armin murmured a prayer for them all, particularly Merith, Vanessa and Heny.

Matt looked tense. He didn't like guards.

Mourn's ears flattened a little and he remained close to Swarm. As if they could be any actual help.

"Show no hostility... "Armin cautioned them gently.

Swarm translated that for Mourn.

Mourn hrumphed. "No stupid enough to start fight with floaty magic things."

Armin bowed his head. "Of course." He mused that he really must learn proper sign language, it would make communicating with Mourn substantially easier.
Then he realised he wasn't even certain Mourn COULD sign. Drat.

Esk stood, straightening up and waiting for this inspection with his arms folded.

Luka made her way to where everyone else was trying to look as stoic as possible.

Vestia opened her airlock for the anamcara, and waited politely for them to board.

Asher watched them nervously. They were completely at the mercy of these guys now.

Ethan had sensibly stayed away.

James was staying near Asher, while Tala stood behind everyone else, watching warily.

Quartermaster Arya boarded and immediately handed the order to restrain both Vanessa and Merith, glaring at the man as he was cuffed and escorted out, stopping to mutter, "You have a lot of nerve..."

Heny was left unmentioned, much to her surprise as Arya gazed among them all. "Welcome to Asteroid Manifest. Stay with your group as we depart and you will be assigned a Caretaker to help you through any necessary paperwork and will offer a tour around the HQ."
