The Mirror: Matthew's Ship

The shuttle that took off was guided to the dock of Natthew's ship. They were welcomed off with salutes and hard lined faces, although the welcome party was the only one that seemed so serious. Other Guards and pilots both on duty and off casual strode around, settled down, or chatted with fizzy drinks on their person. A bit came by with washing supplies, but was the unfortunate victim of a flying wrench. It's eye twitching, it keeled over and sparked, the culprit swearing and running over to make sure it was all right before quickly and with much care beginning to guide it to presumably someone who could fix it. The culprit's friend yelled something about reporting her dangerous antics to higher ups and harming a fellow member. The distraction was quickly interrupted by the all too serious escort leader. "Welcome." They all stood a little straighter when they spotted Inari. "Matthew and his guest, Hytar is waiting to see you in the office."

"I'm so sorry to bother you," Asher said politely, taking in the guy's appearance and slowness with interest. Hmm, was he cold blooded and not in a warm enough environment, or was he just old? Asher couldn't tell. "He was celebrating the death of Captain Heny, and he drank rather a lot."

Starr headed for the shuttle, leaning against it's side once they arrived

Esk shook his head at Starr, yeah he had no sympathy. "Sit down, try not to puke on anything." He told her flatly.

Starr blinked and looked to Esk then around herself again "Not gonna puke, that's undignified." She muttered but went to find a seat anyway

Esk snickered at that. Undignified? right, like getting this drunk so fast.

"Listen, you want me to just take you back so you can sleep this off and come back for the others or what? " It wasn't like it was a long journey. Heck, maybe he could send Luka back to play taxi driver, she liked flying shuttles right?

"That was the plan, was it not?" Starr asked then looked away, shifting and curling up in the seat unhappily

"Right.. " Esk shook his head. "I'll send the Lieutenant back for the others. Just, don't fall asleep and don't throw up okay?" He headed for the cockpit to get headed off. Yeah, he really hoped she didn't fall asleep, that'd be awkward.

Starr sighed and looked out the window, watching the stars as they made the short trip over to Vestia

Esk actually was a fairly competent pilot, despite not being overly familiar with this particular shuttle. He docked and looked back to see if Starr was still conscious.

"can you walk?" He asked flatly, he didn't sound like he cared much either way.

"Of course he was." The elder reptile sounded completely done with Matthew's shit, more in an older brother fashion rather than a father figure. He scratched the scales on his exposed arms, shedding a bit. The scales that fell seemed to have the faintest tinge of cobalt blue. "So Heny's dead? Good riddance. She's been the biggest thorn in our side since the grand slave trade began." The man yawned slowly again, exposing sharpened, zipper like teeth. He almost seemed bored. "What's the situation?"

Asher nodded. "Heny, and Dr. Freidman, are dead. We have a large number of ex-slaves and assorted personnel that need to be processed, and Matthew hardly seems to be in a state to oversee that project at the moment."

"And that's why you're here." The reptile sighed, shaking his head. "Right, let me help you get the drunk to his room and I'll start procedures..."

"Thank you," Asher said with a smile.

"Yeah, yeah." The elder dragged himself out of the room, his tail lazily sliding across the ground as he took the bulk of Matthew's weight. "Are the people needing to be processed prepared to leave yet?"

"I believe the majority of them are in our shuttle bay by now," Asher said. "There may be a few people who are unwilling to go for one reason or another though, some of them are terribly stubborn."

"Whatever. As long as they aren't wanted for anything, I frankly don't care." Markath mumbled. "If they can depart on their own, good for them."

Markath stepped inside the elevator and pushed a button to the crew quarters to take Matthew to his room first.

Asher smiled slightly and stayed quiet.

(Do we wanna do some timeskippage to get all the slaves processed and jump to whatever needs to happen next?)
