Upon Silver Devil: Chapter Three

[I can't say i've ever seen him drunk actually. I haven't seen him in nearly ten years.] Hmm that'd be interesting. [He got tall.] He smiled oddly, trying to make light of what was clearly pretty awkward and difficult.

"Can I come in?" Luka asked softly, she was worried okay?

"Good. You are of common sense and will be most useful," Tala declared. "You also have much magic, which will be useful in a fight."

"Yeah" Rigel said and gave a small smile to the air "It's open"

Shane smiled at that and dipped his head "I'm here to help, however I can, even if only as security."

"Excellent," Tala slapped Shane's shoulder, although she did try to not slap too hard. "It is always well to have a magic user of great strength at hand."

Shane smiled at her, though he moved a step back "Is everyone back on board?"

"I know not if Swarm is here, but the others have returned," Tala said. She raised her voice, "Swarm, are you aboard?"

Shane waited for an answer, hoping their Swarm was here and safe.

There was no response from Swarm, wherever they were, they weren't here.

Luka eased the door open and stepped into the room. "She'll be okay, she's tough right?" She tried to cheer him up.

"It seems Swarm is still out there," Tala said. "I wonder if they are spying upon the people we will meet with."

Rigel looked to her then nodded and looked away "She will be alright, she just needs time to heal" He agreed

Shane frowned and looked around then to the door "I hope they are alright."

"They are small and hide well. I have faith in their ability to hide," Tala said. She sniffed the air thoughtfully, "Still, it may be wise to seek them."

"So... are you okay?" Luka asked, finding somewhere to sit and looking a bit awkward.

Shane nodded and looked at her "Yeah, I want to go look for them too"

Rigel sighed and rubbed his head a little "I know she will be alright, but, it's still hard to see her hurt like that."

"Let us go and seek our friends then," Tala decided. She raised her voice again, "Shane and I seek Swarm, we shall return!"

Luka nodded. "At least she's safe now. But... are you sure Esk's the best person to look after her while we're all gone?" She didn't trust the guy, at all.
She flinched as Tala yelled. damnit Tala, what the heck?

Rigel winced then nodded "Alright Tala" He called then looked to Luka "I don't know what to think of those two, but she trusts him, and I trust her. She wouldn't put herself in danger intentionally." Not that he liked her ever being in danger, but she wasn't a child anymore.

Shane covered his ears then went to the door to open it again, shaking his head a little.

Dawn startled at the yell then sighed and settled back down, one hand going to the wound at her front before she closed her eyes again.

Tala cheerfully left the Silver Devil with Shane, apparently oblivious to the discomfort she caused her crewmates. "Where do you suppose our small friends would be?"

Luka nodded, lowering her head. "okay..."

Shane left with Tala, looking around and occasionally calling for the little guys. He was trying not to call too much attention to them as they walked.

Rigel reached over and touched her arm gently "Thanks for caring Luka."

Tala, realizing her voice was as subtle as a falling anvil, opted for telepathy instead. SWARM?
She did her best to target it so nobody except Swarm would hear, but some of the more sensitive individuals on the station probably heard someone shouting in their heads. She wasn't a terribly skilled telepath, especially when she was trying to broadcast "loudly".

Luka blushed a little and patted Rigel's hand awkwardly. "I just... don't like seeing you sad." She admitted.

Shane glanced to Tala then started to call telepathically too, though he was more skilled at it."Swarm, where are you?"

Rigel smiled at Luka again and nodded. "I can understand that. " He said and let his hand drop back to his side again.

Tala kept looking around, telepathically calling occasionally, although it was tiring so she let Shane do most of it. It made sense to her that Swarm would be spying on Hytar's ship, so she stayed near the docks with Shane for now. A few people definitely overheard her, and she got some annoyed looks from the ones who could tell the minotaur was at fault here.

Luka kept her head bowed. "Should I ... leave you be or... " She sounded uncertain, she didn't really know what to do.

Elsewhere an extremely sensitive telepath clutched his head and started freaking out.

Hytar sighed. "Don't make me sssedate you again."

The young man whimpered.
A woman put a hand on his shoulder, glowering at Hytar.

Hytar shook his head. "Calm him down." He ordered.

The female crouched down, pulling the boy's head toward herself gently and pressing her forehead against his.
He sobbed and shuddered but slowly started to calm down.

Across the station chief of security Chuck sat at his desk, hooves up on the desk and a stick of compressed plant matter in his mouth as he chewed thoughtfully.

Opposite him floated the Swarm, large black eyes watching him curiously.

"Done with the questions then?" Chuck asked, he sounded faintly exasperated.

"you have been most gracious." Swarm responded. "most helpful."

Chuck snorted. "Yeah well, you understand what'll happen to you if you tell anyone yeah?"

swarm nodded once. "We shall not reveal your secrets."

"Good. And you'll keep an eye on those two for me yeah?"

Swarm nodded again. "We will find out what you desire to know. As we promised."

Chuck straightened up, pulling his feet off the desk and swallowing his food. "Pleasure doing business with you then."

At which point security knocked. "Boss, we got some wannabe muggers, you want us to put em in a cell?"

Chuck grumbled. "Back to work." He stood up, looking back at the insects. "Remember, you don't hold up your side of the bargain and i'll find a way to make things very miserable for you. I'm thinking a soundproof black box, no sound, no light, no knowledge."

Swarm ducked their head. "We shall not betray our word." they assured him.

Chuck grunted and went to talk to his security staff and process those muggers.

Swarm scattered.

Half way across the station they heard Tala and Shane calling.

Shane paused and frowned, touching his head a little. "We should stop, we are hurting someone." He said and looked to Tala.

Rigel looked to Luka then shook his head. "I like you being here." He said, yeah, he was sending those mixed signals again but he did like her.
