Upon Silver Devil: Chapter Two

Deeply Acus sighed as he paused and turned around, arms crossed. "Yes?"

James didn't let go of Acus. "I wonder if we can get that therapist to start the appointment early," he muttered.

"I said I'M NOT GOING!" Acus snapped again at james stubborness fighting still.

"Are too," James said, sticking out his tongue.

"Shut up!" He snarled.

Dawn frowned and shook her head, uncertain

The order took effect instantly, since it didn't conflict with the First Law, and James went silent. He didn't let go of Acus, but the look in his eyes was one of betrayal. Dawn would have to handle the talking now, he guessed.

"Acus, your behavior now suggests that you are not yourself. That makes it James and my responsibility to get you well again before we can leave you alone. That means taking you to this therapist since we are not qualified on our own." Dawn said

"And I dont care I'm not going willing!" He spat.

Luka heard the screaming and just covered her ears, man the captain had lost it. What were they going to do if he continued in this manner? He was clearly completely unfit for duty, but reliving him of it felt like it would only make things worse. She tried to drown out the noise and decided that maybe, maybe she didn't need any more sleep. So she got up and got dressed. Going out would get away from this insanity and she sort of felt like maybe she should remove herself from it all, as she had nothing useful to contribute right now. Still, she worried about Dawn. And James.

She peered toward Acus' room warily.

Esk pulled a pillow over his head to drown out the muffled sounds of yelling from somewhere else in the ship. "Captain's lost his fucking mind." He muttered. Damn small ships, there was no real escape from such a racket.

The Swarm couldn't do much for all this, they couldn't restrain anyone after all. All they could do was watch helplessly.

James smiled weakly at the sight of Luka. He couldn't say anything though, which was frustrating indeed.

Dawn sighed and shook her head "Well, then I hope you have everything in your life set the way you want...like who gets your ship and everything since you seem set on killing yourself." She said and folded her arms "What happens to all of us? What happens to your people?"

"We both know everyone saw me as the asshole captain as a few screws short." He spat, "Why should any of you care?"

"Because we are alive and we do care" Dawn stated, watching him. "One moment doesn't define who you are."

James closed his eyes for a moment in frustration. Man, he really wished he could talk right now. Dawn was doing a great job, but still!

"Yet it does in the damn galaxy!" He snapped, glaring at james, "Let me go!"

Luka approached tentatively, her voice soft.
"Captain... " She kept well out of the way. "please... You may be an asshole captain but you're OUR asshole captain, we DO care because without you none of us would be here."

Swarm pooled together into their humanoid form. "Stubborn, headstrong. Difficult patient, we suggest restraints. "

"Tying him up isn't going to help!" Luka protested.

"Stop him hurting himself or others, least till he can calm down. Suicidal urges tend to be fleeting whims, come in surges. " Swarm pointed out.

"It's his life..." Luka lowered her head. "Captain please, see sense. " She sounded desperate.

"Exactly" Dawn said, looking to Luka and thankful for her help "You are our captain, and we don't want you hurt."

"I want the pain to stop..I want the nightmares, the heartaches, I want it all to stop!" He chocked.

Dawn looked down then came closer to him to touch his arm gently "That is what the therapist is for. She can help with that without ending your life"

"I have gone to five different ones and they all failed." He snapped, "How will she be different?!"

Swarm reeled off the new therapist's qualifications dryly. They'd been paying attention during all of that.

Dawn glanced to Swarm then back to Acus "What they said" She said then shrugged and smiled a little

"And if it doesnt work?" He growled.

"How about we discuss that after the appointment?" Luka suggested.

Dawn looked down at the floor then shrugged a little "Then we figure something out together"

He growled, "Fine."

"Now that is settled, could you let him talk again?" Dawn asked, glancing to James again "Then we can have a bite of breakfast before we leave the ship."
