Upon Silver Devil: Chapter Two

Deeply Acus sighed as he paused and turned around, arms crossed. "Yes?"

"Avia...gone.." He said brokenly, his breathing a heavy pained pant.

The swarm rapidly took form, gliding across the floor to Acus' side. "Gone? How?" They buzzed amongst themselves in agitation.

Luka heard the yell and frowned, coming to investigate.

Esk assumed someone was just fighting again and ignored it.

Dawn frowned at that then shook her head "Are you physically hurt, or is this just a physic pain?"

"Physic...pain." He muttered, looking at the ground blankly, "It, been destroyed.." He said, not able to believe it yet.

James would soon arrive, worried, and carrying a mop. He hovered nearby, listening.

Tala stayed away. More drama and angst was nothing she needed.

Dawn frowned at that then sighed and held him in a hug, sometimes that was all you could do

Swarm paced fretfully, clearly anxious. "How? Who?" they asked, so many questions it became impossible for anyone to follow what they were all saying.

Luka found a computer to search, see if there was any news yet. A whole planet gone? destroyed? that took a huge level of power, and was woefully inefficient a war strategy. What kind of people could be that angry with the bird people?

Luka would find info quickly, about a unprovoked attacked and destruction of Avia by a group of people called The Family.

Acus started to softly cry, even if he hated how this hapoened after the civil war this was too much. So many innocent lives gone, his whole race gone.

"Who are the Family?" Luka asked.

Dawn looked to James and motioned him over. She would ask quietly for a sedative patch, just in case it was needed.

Thankfully for Dawn, James had picked up a few of Asher's habits over the years, such as carrying nonharmful sedative patches. He pulled one out and held it ready in case it was needed, nodding to Dawn.

Acus cluthed his fist angry at the word, "A bunch of phycopsthic bastards hell bent to rule the galaxy...we did nothing to them, nothing at all other then told them to fuck off."

"That can be enough for some" Dawn said and looked back to Acus after a nod to James, glad he was prepared

Luka frowned. "Destroying a whole planet though, that feels more personal.... " She frowned, and added quietly. "I'm so sorry." She felt a pang of guilt seeing Acus like this, it was so easy to detach from the victims of war when you didn't know them, when you didn't have to look them in the eyes. She felt a little sick and couldn't stop scrolling through the news stories as live updates came through, pictures and accounts, it just got worse and worse but she couldn't look away.

Acus angrily hit his fist on the ground once, twice, three times. "It doesn't make sense." He said with a growl, hackles raising.

James felt the First Law beginning to take hold as Acus hit the ground. He was going to hurt himself if he kept this up. "Acus, please don't," he said, not sure how to talk to someone in this much grief.

"The Family rarely does" Dawn agreed then sighed "They want to pretend to be gods and to be worshiped at all times"

Acus gritted his teeth, seeming to not acknowledge James as he kept it up, "I can hear it...the screams of the other priests..." He chocked.

Dawn looked to James and nodded, holding Acus to try to keep him from hurting himself anymore

"He's right though, it doesn't make sense." Luka remarked, still staring at the screen. "I mean, there's not a lot of info on the Family other than them being a terrorist group who think they're gods, pah, pathetic... but an attack on this scale goes beyond standard terror, it stinks of.. well.. revenge." She frowned.

Swarm spoke up. "If we still had our bond, we could learn more.. the great hive would know.. the great hive knows everything." They lamented.

esk finally did actually appear in a doorway just because he couldn't take the curiosity any more. There was some serious drama going on here. He just watched Acus' dramatics on the floor impassively.

James looked to Dawn, grateful for her leadership in this, and tried to stick the patch to Acus' skin, hopefully soon knocking him out.

"Then someone pissed off the wrong one and they took revenge. There are all kinds of stories about them even I have heard."

Luckily for james the sedatives had a quick reaction time on a Avian and he would quickly succumbed to it.

Vicky would of been standing nearby her eyes glazed as she mentally looked up the info, she looked briefly at Acus in pity. "Vessels have a powerful connection to their people.." She explained to dawn as Acus passed out, "Recomend removing anything sharp or that has alcohol from his room.."

"You think he might be suicidal?" James asked, the First Law firmly in control now.

Dawn sighed and nodded, lifting Acus up on a cushion of air then heading for his room "Good idea"

"So a whole planet, just gone like that?" Esk finally asked. He sounded detatched, more idly curious than actually concerned.

Luka tensed, her hate for the guy was pretty obvious.
"yes.. "

"Wouldn't surprise me...Between the mental effects of the civil war then add this it could quite easily tip him over." She sighed deeply, "Also, anything water." Vicky added remembering his power.
