A huge North American city, built in a mishmash of styles from many eras of architecture. the spaceport is bustling and filled with cruise ships, racing yachts, and transport craft. It's full of shops, clubs, gardens, and tourist attractions.

The weather is currently cool but sunny.

"definitely, we're gonna touch everything!" Matt declared.

Ellie watched Shane and Matt's interaction cautiously. Yeah, Matt was a little touchy about being helped, poor guy. She probably would be too if she was in a wheelchair, she supposed, it had to be frustrating to have other people think you needed help when you didn't.
"Totally ready for some fun. I hope this place is awesome," she agreed instead of saying anything.

Shane smiled and led them inside so they could look at the exhibits. He took a map of the place from a stand so they could look at it.

Ellie peered at the map curiously. "What do you think has the most stuff to touch? Ooh, there's an exhibit about how water works, fancy. Matt, maybe you can prank everyone into thinking science is broken today!"

Matt snickered. "you think it's a good idea to show off magic though? People might get pissy..." still, tempting.

"We could be secretive about it, right? They'd never know." Ellie giggled. The idea of baffling people with their magic was hilarious to her.

Matt looked thoughtful. "let's go screw with the water" he declared

Shane chuckled and shrugged, heading that way so they could play a bit.

Ellie was still giggling, probably looking kind of suspicious, whoops. She followed Shane. "I sooo wanna see the unsuspecting Terrans' faces when you randomly freeze some water or something. Hey Shane, you got any tricks up your sleeve?"

"He has so many tricks." Matt grinned at Shane. "hey, can you fuck with gravity? I mean, you guys can do some pretty crazy stuff right? "

Shane nodded then shrugged. "I can, but I'm not sure how much control I would have over it or how long it will last."

"Dude, that'd be so cool," Ellie said. "You should totally try, we could weird out the people here so much."

Shane dipped his head a little then shrugged again. He would think about it, for now, he just wanted to have a look around.

They went to the water area first, because yay water. Ellie started looking around at the kid-friendly demonstrations of water surface tension, how ice could float, how snowflakes always had six sides, and all sorts of other water stuff, most of it touchable.

Ellie started poking around at things.

Matt stuck his hand into any water he could. Yay water.

Shane looked around a little before finding an exhibit to touch and play with too.

There were a lot of displays, some of them not reachable, mostly the ones that involved cold things or steam power. The majority could be touched though.

There were a fair number of people in the room, mostly Terran, but a variety of other species in ones or twos. Apparently this was a reasonably busy day for visiting museums, or this was just a busy museum.

There were a pair of security guards near one wall, keeping an eye on the visitors. One was Terran, the other was a smallish minotaur.

Matt grinned and dunked his whole hand into one of the exhibits on how fluids flowed, telling it to go the opposite way just for the hell of it.

Nobody noticed for a bit. After all, who would expect the water to randomly change direction?

"Mooom, mom! The water's going to wrong way!" a little kid said suddenly, tugging on his mom's sleeve.

She sighed resignedly, then looked at the water, eyes widening. "It's going uphill!"

A few more people started staring at the water. The heck?

Ellie covered her mouth, trying to suppress her giggles.

Shane looked over at the commotion and smiled. They had chosen an interesting way to start.

Matt tried very hard not to laugh at this mischief.

One kid noticed him. "How are you doing that!?" they demanded.

Matt smiled at them. "It's a secret." He pulled his hand out of the water which started to flow correctly again.

The kid who had spoken before stared. "Wow. You can make water change directions?"

The parents looked a little unnerved. Most of them knew that magic was real, but still, it was bizarre to see it firsthand.

The security guards looked over at the commotion, the Terran watching warily while the minotaur scented the air. They stayed where they were though.

Ellie started fishing in her pocket for seeds, she always had a few on her these days. She wanted in on the fun!

"I can do a lot of things." Matt told the kid. He loved kids, and was rather enjoying the attention. He was oblivious to the security, or Ellie's plan.

Shane simply watched the others in the room with them. It wasn't the right place or time to play with gravity, besides, watching was fun enough for now.

"What sort of things? Can you create water out of thin air?" one kid asked Matt.

"Thin air? As opposed to thick air?" one kid said snarkily to the other.

The other glared. "Hey! I just want to know!"

Ellie snickered. "I always thought thin air was a dumb thing to say, too," she whispered to the snarky kid. She was starting to grow some plants in her closed hand, so nobody would see them too soon.

Matt grinned. "Well not out of nothing." He waved a hand around. "There's water in the air" He held out his hand, droplets of water gathering in his cupped palm. "And inside all of us."

Shane chuckled softly, this was turning into a kind of science lesson with magic now.
