Terra - Ottawantreal

A huge North American city, built in a mishmash of styles from many eras of architecture. the spaceport is bustling and filled with cruise ships, racing yachts, and transport craft. It's full of shops, clubs, gardens, and tourist attractions.

The weather is currently cool but sunny.

Shane nodded then grinned and looked at the two of them "The Science museum has a lot of hands-on exhibits and a gift shop."

"gift shop whoo!" Matt cheered. "Well lead the way Shane, you can give us a tour!" He teased.

"Yeah, you know more science than me and Matt combined, you can tell us all about science stuff," Ellie giggled. She probably knew more about plants, but otherwise, not so much. "Do you think they have any shirts with funny slogans?"

"What like, Geology Rocks, Gravity, it's a drag? that kinda thing?" Matt snickered. "if they do, we're getting you all of them."

Shane laughed and nodded "Yes, they likely do have those shirts." He said, leading them to the museum.

Ellie grinned. "I'll buy shirts with puns for you guys too, and we can all be junior science nerds. It'll be awesome." She followed Shane.

Shane chuckled and nodded, that was something they could do together. He led them to a bus stop that had a ramp so they wouldn't have to walk the whole way.

Matt followed along. "How do you know so much about this town anyway?" He asked Shane.

"I grew up around here, and my old boss traveled a lot, all over the planet. He didn't like space travel though, so he only sent representatives off world." Shane answered.

"You grew up in... around here? I assumed you were from New Paris," Ellie said curiously. Huh. She really didn't know much about her boyfriend after all.

"Yeah, I assumed you were from Paris too. I suppose one city isn't that different from another though right? Terrans are pretty... equal and all that shit." Matt mused. Not like the Imperium with their massive divide between the poor colonies and the rich.

"Like I said, he liked to travel." Shane said with a shrug. "I have been to a lot of the cities."

"Terrans aren't that equal, we have differences and stuff!" Ellie paused. "Wait, equal is a good thing. Umm." She looked curious, "So what city are you from, Shane?"

Matt chuckled. "You seem to have a lot less of a mess than where I call home. At least everyone seems to have access to the same level of technology and stuff. Right?" Unless they just hadn't seen the shitty side of terra yet, but he had seen the shitty side of paris and it hadn't been nearly as bad as the shitty parts of the imperium so hmm.

Shane shrugged a little "New Paris was the base. I guess you could say it's where I'm from."

"Oh." Ellie giggled. "I guess New Paris is around here, by space travel standards."
She smiled at Matt, "Yeah, we all have like, electricity and access to cars and buses if we want them, and grocery stores, and public schools. I lived on a farm, but it was more technologically advanced than the farm you grew up on. The Terran Empire isn't like, totally equal, but pretty much nobody starves or anything."

Matt nodded. "Yeah, the Imperium has... weird priorities." He frowned a little. "Really weird priorities."

"Yeah, humans are pretty equal, at least here." Shane said with a nod.

"The Imperium is weird as heck. I don't think I'll ever understand them, and I don't think I really want to," Ellie said. She pointed to a building, "Is that the museum we're going to?"

Matt shook his head. "I don't think it's worth trying." He told her. "I mean they aren't ALL assholes, my mother was from what little I remember of her really lovely, and Olin was awesome but... yeah... the guys in charge? assholes." He nodded decisively.

"Yep, the stop is just there." Shane said and pointed. "We get off the next stop."

"Yeah, and Luka's nice, but the politics are weird," Ellie said. She shook her head at the thought. She grinned at Shane, "Yay, almost there!"

When the bus stopped, Shane moved to help Matt get off the bus so they could see the museum

"Why you think we left?" Matt asked Ellie. He shot Shane a look, he didn't want to be helped damnit, he could do this himself. His pride demanded it.
And he knew it was dumb, but being in this chair made him feel shitty so anything that could make him feel like he wasn't totally useless was a bonus.

Thankfully the bus had a ramp so he wheeled down that, a little awkwardly mind, but it was better than being lifted or something.

Shane shrugged off the look, he was used to such looks after all. He simply let Matt do what he could and looked to the building. "Are you ready for some fun?" He asked them both, leading the way again once they were all off the bus.

"definitely, we're gonna touch everything!" Matt declared.

Ellie watched Shane and Matt's interaction cautiously. Yeah, Matt was a little touchy about being helped, poor guy. She probably would be too if she was in a wheelchair, she supposed, it had to be frustrating to have other people think you needed help when you didn't.
"Totally ready for some fun. I hope this place is awesome," she agreed instead of saying anything.
