Upon Vestia: Chapter Twenty-Four

Dawn chuckled and shook her head a little "I don't need a party." She said softly, chuckling.

Skye looked to the door then came over to open it "Mourn? What's up?"

Kay smiled softly as Asher hauled himself out of his chair. He really was getting good at that. Massive upper body strength helped right? He nodded. [Here's hoping they have the sense to take their feelings out in productive manner. ] Mm he didn't much want to have to deal with people knocking themselves out hitting punching bags too hard or going jousting or something equally foolish.

"I fully expect to be handing out painkillers for hangovers in the morning," Asher said, sighing. "Hopefully they can avoid brawls though, that'd be nice." Knowing these guys, you couldn't expect too much though. "At least we're sober."

Kay nodded. [ I don't think getting drunk would really help anyway.] Yeah, he got overly emotional when he was drunk, emotional and stupid.

"I've never been drunk, but I suspect it would make me make dumb choices. Maybe it's good that it's not an option for me." Asher managed a small smile. "Better to leave getting drunk to other people."

Kay nodded. [I agree. It's a terrible idea.]

Asher nodded in agreement, and scooted a bit closer to Kay. If he was going to be unhappy and sober, then at least he had someone to be unhappy and sober with. Always look on the bright side, right?

Kay leaned into Asher, resting his head on his shoulder. [Never let me get drunk again okay? I just make a fool of myself.]

Asher smiled softly. "I'll do my best. You do a pretty good job avoiding it by yourself though." Asher was grateful for that. Sometimes drunk people were kind of cute, but he preferred sensible, clear-headed Kay. Alcohol had helped get them back together, but the jury was still out on whether that had been a god thing or not.

Kay nodded and shrugged, he wasn't so sure about that. He was fairly certain he was the sort of idiot to not learn his lesson about drink.
[We'll leave the drunken mistakes and hangovers to Matt and his posse I think. ]

"Sounds good to me. If they get hangovers, I get to act smug," Asher said. "And threaten to withhold their painkillers." Things he'd never do to a hung over Kay, because that would be mean.

Kay smiled. [Exactly.]

"You really are a terrible influence on me," Asher said. "The drunks back on the space station would be crushed by my lack of sympathy to their plight."

Kay looked amused. [that's their problem.]

Esk went to find Dawn, everyone was in a mood and it was kinda annoying.

Armin politely asked Vestia to let him know when Starr was ready to see anyone, he desperately wanted to see her and be certain she was alright okay?

Asher laughed. "Now I feel bad for them again." For someone with no heart, he was awfully soft hearted.

"I'll tell you as soon as she says she's okay with visitors," Vestia assured Armin. D'aww, Armin was so sweet.

"Thank you Vestia." Armin bowed his head to her camera.

Kay rolled his eyes. [You shouldn't, they bring it upon themselves.]

Vestia turned her lights a warm orange hue. "You're welcome. Try not to worry too much, okay? Starr's pretty tough."

Asher looked amused. "Some of them are such cute, harmless drunks though, you can't help but feel sorry for them and their hangovers." Of course there were also all sorts of unpleasant drunks, but who wanted to mention those?

Kay looked up at Asher and shook his head. [You're far too kind to morons. ] He smiled. Asher's soft heart was extremely endearing.

"Someone has to give them the benefit of the doubt," Asher said, "Well, maybe not all of them, but some of them at least. But maybe I should try harder to follow your example."

[I thought we'd agreed you made a terrible bad cop?] Kay teased.

Asher looked sheepish. "Maybe so. I am a terrible bad cop." He smiled a bit, "But you make bad cops seem so great, I want to be one too sometimes."

Kay shook his head. [No, it's not nice being disliked. You're fine just the way you are.] He was flattered Asher was so impressed with his bitchiness, but he wasn't sure it was a trait that WAS a good thing.

"Maybe it's just you then, not bad cops in general," Asher said. "Because I definitely don't dislike you." He nodded sagely. This was a better topic than Starr.

Kay looked amused. [I certainly hope not, that would make all this very awkward.]

Asher chuckled. "Yeah, thank goodness you're such a likeable bad cop, huh?"

Kay smirked. [Well i'm glad at least you find me likable. ]

Luka finished beating the crap out of a punching bag and retired to her room to read a book, one with lots of explosions and action and killing of bad guys.

Esk figured Dawn was either hiding out in her room or dealing with animals on her ranch, eugh, animals. He half wished she'd found some hobby/second job he didn't have to avoid going anywhere near, but maybe that was why she'd done it? Was he really getting that paranoid?
The fact she actually genuinely seemed to like and care about him was just such an alien thing to him, he couldn't quite handle it without thinking the worst.

Matt shot lots of holographic bad guys with his tank, heck yeah. He decided holographic tanks were kinda awesome.

Dawn had gone to her room, finding a book to read and losing track of time.
