The Guild Capitol: Chapter Two

"Now we can find something for kids." Dawn said and moved to look around the place.

Starr chuckled at that "I met him, yesterday or the day before" She said, picking up the boy baby "They hatched, so we came to learn as much as we can about baby dragons"

"So it seems." Mandeep replied with a small chuckle at Matt's words, easing back a bit when everything was cleared up. After being introduced to everyone he made a common Kevali gesture of greetings and then bowed his head slightly, as if he had picked up another habit of greeting. He said nothing yet, though, and decided to draw his attention to the hatchlings with an almost amused glint to his eye, reminiscing about something.

Kay's baby peeked over his pocket, looking to Matt then Mandeep curiously before squeaking at Kay and looking up at him.

Starr dipped her head in greeting to Mandeep, petting Kerr as he moved to her shoulder to hold on there and survey the area curiously.
Vela remained in the bag, comfortable there and able to see everyone.

"oh hey there's a third one" Matt looked at the other dragon.

Kay nodded grimly.

"Hey little dragon, why aren't you hanging with your siblings?" Matt asked.

Asher looked sheepish.

Starr chuckled softly and looked to Kay the back to Matt "He was there for the hatching, she got stuck, so he was the first face she saw. She imprinted on him" She explained

Mandeep seemed to freeze for a moment, his eyes widening slightly as he quickly swallowed whatever emotion he had on his face. He said nothing. This wasn't his business after all.

Kerr was watching Mandeep with his tiny head tilted, though that could have been at his expression and feelings as much as it could have been the chair that had caught his interest.

Matt blinked, and sloooowly the gears turned. "wait.. like a baby duck?"

Kay nodded, looking tense.

Matt grinned and started to laugh. "So.. so the dragon thinks you're mom?"

[I would prefer Dad, but yes.] Kay glared at his brother.

Matt tried to stop laughing but he really couldn't. "I'm sorry, i'm sorry it's just.. You, with a kid "

[It wasn't intentional Mattias.] Kay looked irritated.

"Oh no of course not, these things just happen right? " Matt stopped laughing and sort of smirked instead.

Kay's eyes narrowed.

Matt grinned. "Congrats I guess little brother. Wait.. does this mean i'm not an uncle? I always wanted to be an uncle."

Asher sighed. Another person who found this funny. Yay. He gave Matt a 'be nice to Kay, this has been a very long day' look.

Matt looked at Asher and looked slightly sheepish, he looked away. "So.. so does that mean you and Asher are parents now?"

Kay frowned. [It's not quite that simple unfortunately. None of us really fully understand the situation, which is why we're here.] He indicated the dragon signs.

Asher nodded. "It's terribly confusing, and we have no idea what the hatching will end up doing. We're learning what we can, and waiting to find out everything else." Some silly part of him liked the idea of being a parent, but he didn't think it would be prudent to mention that. Besides, maybe the kid would pick Starr as her favorite still. That would simplify things immensely. And be a good thing for Kay, definitely.

Mandeep smiled at the little creature, but said nothing. He felt as if he were intruding and muttered something to himself in his native tongue as he looked around for something to distract himself.

"Well I guess like all things, you gotta just.. play it by ear right? roll with the punches and make it up as you go along." Matt shrugged. He did feel a pang of sympathy for Kay, he knew that look of absolute terror. He smiled softly and patted his brother on the shoulder. "You'll work it out." He looked to the baby and waved. "Does he or she have a name yet?"

The baby chirped at Matt, looking at him curiously when he waved at her.

Kerr chirped at Mandela, making Starr looked at him then to Mandela herself.

"She doesn't have a name yet, we should probably consult with her about that," Asher said with a smile.

Kay nodded. [Didn't we have a list? ]

"oo a list. You guys are way too organised." Matt chuckled. Oh he was gonna HAVE to tell Thalia all about this. This was too funny not to share. Plus you know, could Kay now be mad at them? HAH.
He'd probably still find a way but hah, moral high ground.. lost.

Kay looked at Matt suspiciously. He was being weird.

Mandeep seemed to grow fond of the little one's chirping. He then opened his mouth slightly and made the shape of an "O", pushing air from the back of his throat, making a gutter all cooing sound, much like a pidgeon, the closest he could get to the soft chirping as he did it inauspiciously, trying to get as few to notice as possible. They were distracted amongst themselves right? Right.

Asher smiled softly. "I believe we had an unofficial list, yes. Starr suggested Danika, Opal, Vela, Jade, and you had Eira, Inanda and Nera?"
He noticed Mandeep's look at the babies and tried to suppress a smile.

Kerr raised his wings, chirping happily at him then bouncing a little until Starr chuckled and picked him up to bring him over to Mandeep so he could meet him. Kerr stayed on Starr's hand but on the very edge to look at the Kalevli

Starr glanced over to Asher at his words "My girl took Vela Jade as her name"

"Right," Asher looked amused. "I suppose that's out then."

Kay looked down at the youngest dragon and tried to coax her out of his pocket so she could interact with this. The other two had picked their names, so she should pick hers right?

"Vela Jade? And the other one?" Matt asked, nodding to the boy dragon and smiling at Mandeep.

"The boy is Kerr Nash" Starr answered with a smile.

The baby chirped at Kay, using his shirt to climb out so she could be in his and again even though she liked his warm pocket.

Asher tried once again to not look too charmed by the cuteness of Kay and his baby. This was Very Serious. He could NOT smile.

Matt made "awwwww" noises at Kay.

Kay glowered at him.

"Totally adorable. Oh man, you're gonna teach her the glare if you keep doing that. She'll think it's the way you just look at people." Matt chuckled. "Wait.. that is mostly how you look at people."

Kay's eyes narrowed.

"okay okay. I'll stop teasing you." Matt laughed and bent down so he could be eye to eye with the baby dragon. "Hey little one, so.. your daddy's totally cranky but don't worry about it, under all the glares he's a sweetie really. Trust me. You might have to dig a bit, there's a lot of mean to get through."

Kay rolled his eyes.

"So what are they gonna call you huh?" Matt continued, finding Kay's annoyance rather amusing.

The baby looked to Matt as he spoke, chirping softly as she listened. She couldn't understand him, but she knew he was talking to her now.
