The Mirror: Matthew's Ship

The shuttle that took off was guided to the dock of Natthew's ship. They were welcomed off with salutes and hard lined faces, although the welcome party was the only one that seemed so serious. Other Guards and pilots both on duty and off casual strode around, settled down, or chatted with fizzy drinks on their person. A bit came by with washing supplies, but was the unfortunate victim of a flying wrench. It's eye twitching, it keeled over and sparked, the culprit swearing and running over to make sure it was all right before quickly and with much care beginning to guide it to presumably someone who could fix it. The culprit's friend yelled something about reporting her dangerous antics to higher ups and harming a fellow member. The distraction was quickly interrupted by the all too serious escort leader. "Welcome." They all stood a little straighter when they spotted Inari. "Matthew and his guest, Hytar is waiting to see you in the office."

Starr frowned and looked at Matthew then shook her head "My androids will stay on the ship, I will need them to get home along with my guards and those of the rest of the crew who would rather stay with me instead of being sent wherever you would send them. The one who refused my leadership is yours though"

Esk nodded to Starr. "Keep him chained up, or he'll just teleport away, or worse. Let's find Markath then. "

Asher nodded. "Let's get you to your room, you should rest," he told Matthew.

Starr nodded and stood, pausing a moment to catch her balance before walking over to him "Yes, let's go"

"Are you drunk?" Esk asked Starr, noting her wobbliness. "Because if you fall down, I can't carry you."

"I will not fall down" Starr said, ignoring the other question for the moment

Yep, she was drunk. Esk rolled his eyes at the professionalism of these people.

Mirror Luka moved to be a little closer to Starr, just in case she did stumble. "We shall find you a chair to sit in while we organise and sort refugees at this end yes?"

"I have no control of where they will be sorted or organized at, they are out of my hands now" Starr said with a frown.

"Then why don't we take you back to your ship?" Luka suggested. The android can fly a shuttle can't he?" She asked. "I need to remain here to help, once the resistance meets us we'll have a lot of frightened people to relocate and a lot of worlds to track down. there's much work to be done." She looked happy though, this was her job, her element, her passion prior to being captured. It felt a bit odd to be kind to the woman who'd imprisoned them, but it achieved nothing being bitter toward her. She was helping to free them, so she got the benefit of the doubt.

Esk shrugged. "I can fly a shuttle."

"really?" Mirror Luka stared at him.

Esk frowned slightly. "Why is that so surprising? "

"I.. I don't know." Luka shook her head.

Starr frowned, thinking about that then shrugged "Just leave my androids and the crew that wants to stay alone. I am not putting them in prison for wanting to change now."

"Hey i'm not forcing anyone to go anywhere." Esk shrugged.

Mirror Luka nodded. "Take care of her." She told the small group and hurried off to go meet up with the rest of the crew wherever they were and prepare for the incoming refugees.

Starr looked to Esk at that "Yeah, you won't, I was talking about making sure these don't try to force anyone anywhere." She said then headed for the soor to get to one of the shuttles to Vestia

Esk looked to the others. "Someone get Asher." He told them, and followed Starr.

"Let Luka handle it here. Not much we can do anyway so let her have a chance to do what she can. Looks like she would be good at it." Starr said quietly

"From what I understand, freedom fighting is what she does." Esk told Starr. "That how she ended up a prisoner?"

Starr shrugged then nodded "Probably, I only dealt with the slaves once they were on the ship, not the capturing or the prisoners."

Esk grunted at that. "of course."

"Penthouse, penthouse~." Matthew hiccuped, swaying a bit as he began to drag Asher towards the elevators with him.

Asher let himself be half-dragged as he did his best to keep the captain upright. He knew the others might find it weird that he was now helping a very drunk guy who happened to look like their least favorite slaver, but really, what else was he supposed to do? Drunk people shouldn't be abandoned.
Plus Matthew was a rather likable drunk. That helped.

Matthew hummed something of a lullaby as the elevator shot upwards, drunkenly pressing two buttons - he had missed the correct one the first time. When it reach the top levels, they got off and began walking down the hall. Matthew kept murmuring that same lullaby in an odd language.

Asher watched patiently as Matthew got the buttons right. "What are you humming?" he asked curiously as they walked.

"Huh? Oh ho..." Matthew giggled drunkenly. "It's my mother's song. I haven't seen her since..." He suddenly sobered a bit, musing. "Well, since she died. It was Markath who saved me from a fate worse than death, though. You can say he raised me when she was murdered." He stopped at one door, and knocked.

"Ah. I'm sorry for your loss," Asher said quietly. He looked at the door, curious to see who would answer.

After a few seconds of silence filled with intoxicated hiccups, the door finally opened. It revealed a reptilian man, his face stretched like a lizard as a thick and heavy tail dragged across the ground. Otherwise he had a humanoid figure covered in deep green scales, with claw mark scars stretched across the bridge of his snout. The reptile opened his unsettlingly yellow slitted eyes and stared at the two tiredly. While the untrained eye may not notice it, by the mannerisms and sluggishness alone, the creature was obviously aged. "Matty? What's this...? I'm still..." He yawned slowly, "... Taking my nap..."

"I'm so sorry to bother you," Asher said politely, taking in the guy's appearance and slowness with interest. Hmm, was he cold blooded and not in a warm enough environment, or was he just old? Asher couldn't tell. "He was celebrating the death of Captain Heny, and he drank rather a lot."

Starr headed for the shuttle, leaning against it's side once they arrived
