The two shuttles both grabbed the rogue shuttle in their tractor beams and together towed her back to the shuttle bay where more security officers were ready and waiting to question her.

Esk stomped off after James.

Matt winced. "Ahh family reunions." He shook his head. "Seriously third.. what are you thinking? Do you.. do you think you could help him?"

Kay came over, watching Esk and James leave warily.

"Oh, yes, oh, yes..." Third was suddenly brooding. He almost seemed... excited. "If not me.. then another anamcara. They all, and I mean, all, strive to find the secrets to magical events, ails or ailments... Yes. Someone could help him... But I want to do it. I wish to be something other than another novice... Better to start early... Incubi... Incubi..."

[Male equivalent of a succubus] Kay wrote helpfully. [what of it?]

"You really think you can? I mean.. that's be awesome. Wouldn't that be awesome Kay?" Matt grinned.

[If it's possible. ] He frowned. [What about something like that bracelet the Family put on me? It blocked all magic, indiscriminately. ]

"You know who you should talk to? Starr, she's awesome with magic stuff." Matt nodded.

[We really do need to pick up those supplies.] Kay reminded them.

"Oh yeah.. sorry... Lead the way."

"Anything is possible." Third cackled deviously. "I just need more information..."

Matt looked serious. "Anything you need, just ask. I'll help."

Kay glanced back at them. [Noble though such a goal is, please refrain from tormenting him with it. He doesn't need false hope.]

"okay okay, we'll keep it on the lowdown right Third? We can be super secretive, like.. magical ninjas!"

Kay facepalmed.

Third giggled, "Alright, alright... But I will need more information on how it works..."

"I don't think he knows." Matt shrugged. "he touches stuff, it dies. It's pretty simple in that respect."

"Well... I still find it odd that it's considered uncontrollable. Even Keepers can handle their arcane to some respect. And as far as I am aware, so can incubi."

"It's probably a hybrid thing, we always assumed it was a hybrid thing. I mean, Kay can't fully control his shifting right?"

Kay nodded. [When you mix species, you get problems. It could be a lack of discipline, it could be a lack of training, or it could genuinely be something he has no control over. But you would think if it was something he could learn to control, he'd have learned a degree of it by now.]

Matt nodded.

"How can you learn something you have no teacher for?" Third questioned, shaking his head,

"I dunno.. we managed fine." Matt remarked.

[Yes, with a lot of collateral damage in the process.] Kay reminded him.

"Well yeah.. Web more than me... you know.. fire.. " He made a whooshing noise. "Man, I still remember the lectures. If you set fire to the outbuildings one more time, you will sleep in the stables for the next month blah blah blah.. I'll have you clean out the biofuel generator... and so on. He burned so much stuff" Matt laughed.

Kay didn't look so amused. [thank goodness you could put it out again.]

Matt shrugged. "Point is, my brother and I managed to harness our elementals by just.. working at it. And Kay managed to work out the telepathy thing... "

[I don't remember learning it. I just could always do it.]

"Sorta like learning to talk and walk I guess. " Matt shrugged. "Stellan.. Esk.. he just... never worked it out. Maybe things would be different if he had... " He looked solemn.

Kay nodded sadly and lead them back to the others.

Asher sighed. "Some people just want to live forever. We don't know anything about this, but it wouldn't be surprising if this was another of their projects, I suppose."

"... Yeah." John said, liking away at Asher's statement. "Probably just a project... Anyway, I'm certain if you've survived this long, you're pretty good at surviving?" He laughed, "Survival is something we need..."

Asher smiled a bit at that. "We're weirdly good at surviving, that's for sure. How about you?"

John chuckled, "I can say I'm a bit of an expert at it."

"Then you'll be right at home with us, if you're still interested in joining us," Asher said, chuckling.

"... I wouldn't mind." The man said, looking almost contemplative. "I should probably get off this station before those thugs get out of jail, anyway..."

"Sounds sensible," Asher said.

"Well then, I'd be happy to join you. I don't have many personal belongings to take. It should be a one trip move..." John said before sneezing again. "Damn, I hope I don't start an epidemic on your ship, though..."

"We may need to keep you away from some of the crew while you recover," said Asher. "There are a few on the ship who don't handle being sick well at all. I can help you to move your things if you'd like."

John nodded, smiling beneath his mask. "I'd appreciate it..."

"Whenever you feel ready to do that, we can," Asher told him.

"We can go once you are ready. You seem to want to catch up with a friend." He glanced over at Armin, blinking at the rather large figure.

Asher smiled. "Since he'll be returning to Vestia with us, I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to catch up later," he looked at Armin and Shane, to see what they wanted to do.

Armin bowed his head politely. "I shall be in contact, I really need to get these signs printed. Take care of yourselves, I look forward to seeing you all again soon." He bowed his head one more time and scurried off to do what he'd come out to do.

"Well, then I guess we can be on our way." John smiled beneath the mask again.
