Kay frowned, nodding slowly. [This wasn't such a problem previously. Disused bunkers are extraordinarily impenetrable.] He fidgeted a little. [Honestly Asher, i'm terrified about this. The Avian's had purpose built cells, Vestia's brig is not designed to hold a monster. It will probably hold, but that uncertainty is nagging at me, particularly with you and Starr so close by. I know she claims I won't be able to hurt her, but what if she's wrong? There's simply too much that could go horribly and catastrophically wrong here. ] He chewed his lip.

"Kay, we know the risks," Asher said firmly. "At the first sign that you might escape, we're getting out of that room, and Vestia's going to lock every door between you and us. She'd know exactly where you were at all times, and she can lock down the transporters to you so we can hide on other floors until morning. We're not going to get cornered."

Kay nodded. [I know. I'm just paranoid.] He lowered his head again, frowning deeply. [I know it was shear luck I didn't manage to kill my entire family all those years ago, I keep waiting for that luck to run out. ]

"We could go look for an herbalist and see if they have any plants they could sell us," Asher suggested, "I did some research a few weeks ago, and there were a few in this city."

Asher took out the tablet--already useful!--and began researching the shop hours. "Looks like one shop should be open for another hour. It's not too far away either."

Kay nodded. [Then let's go... buy plants.] He looked amused, it was an astoundingly mundane thing to be doing but that actually kinda appealed. They'd had so much weird, something as normal as buying plants would be a nice change of pace.

Asher pocketed the tablet, smiled at the utter ridiculousness of their lives, and headed for the ramp. Hopefully this shopping trip would be peaceful for a change.

Kay nodded slowly. [We also need to get a hold of cutting tools so I may remove this.] He held up his braceletted wrist.

"I am not certain either" Skye admitted then shrugged "Maybe we can find these anti-slavers and talk with them? I mean, we already escaped the family so no matter what we do we will be hunted, so we might as well make life harder for them along the way"

Armin looked uncertain. "I am not sure you would like to associate with those men. They were almost as brutal as our captors. No doubt one must be of a certain temperament for such a job, but despite my gratitude to their leader, I hope to never encounter the man again. "

Skye shrugged and motioned after where Heny had gone "We are kind to those who are kind to us, but they can be scary when they want or need to be."

Armin glanced to where Skye gestured. "Once they got as many of us out as they could, they barred any exits and set fire to the building. Their captain... laughed as our captors screamed. Despite what they did to us, nobody deserves to die like that."
