You would notice the smaller ship among the giants, docked to the space port it was in search of new crew members after the last few... left suddenly.

Luka sighed. "No, there's nothing good on anyway. Fine.. do you have cards?"

Dawn looked around then stood. "Just a moment" she said and went to get a pack from the rec room to return with them.

"looks like i'll be playing a lot of solitaire." Luka sighed.

"What, you don't know blackjack or poker or other games?" Dawn asked with a smile.

She shrugged. "Usually those require more than just two people though. "

"Well, I only said you have to stay in bed, not that you can't have visitors." Dawn said and smiled at her.

"You're the only person on this ship I trust." She whispered. "Pretty sure the minotaur wants to stove my head in, same with the cyborg... and the insects are just flat out creepy. "

Dawn frowned a little at that then shrugged and took a seat again. "You don't have to trust them to play a game with them, just don't let it become anything for real money, use chips if it becones a game that needs that." She said then shrugged "Or we could find video games or two player games. Or you could help quiz me on learning more medical stuff."

Luka smiled. "Alright. We'll find things to do. How much medical training do you have?"

Dawn shrugged "I got through a couple of years of classes before everything went south."

"South?" She tilted her head, she didn't really understand the expression.

"Yeah, when things suddenly go bad, we say they went south, no idea why though." Dawn said

"What happened?" Luka asked. "If.. you don't mind talking about it."

Dawn looked down at her lap then shook her head "Everything, all at once it seems. My uncle was taken by slavers and my father tried to stop it. He was too hurt to be taken, but he lived long enough to tell me and the authorities what happened. He asked me to find my uncle, so that started this whole journey. "

Luka nodded. "I'm sorry..." She sighed. "Can your government do nothing to get their citizens back?"

"Not officially, though they turn a blind eye to anything families do to get their own back, and we are given a code for a bank account to use." Dawn said quietly. "It is a one time use code, at least for me, since I only have one person to find and buy back."

Luka nodded slowly. "Does... does the captain know?"

Dawn shook her head then shrugged "I haven't outright told him yet." She said quietly.

Luka frowned. "Doubt he'll help. Coward won't take on slavers. " She shook her head. "I will do all I can to help you though, everyone deserves to live and die free."

"I still have to find him though" Dawn said softly then looked away. "I probably lost by best chance of that by being too scared"

Luka reached out a hand to her. "There must be a record somewhere of sales."

Dawn nodded then shrugged "Probably, but where?"

Luka pondered. "If slavery is rife in this sector, there's got to be somewhere they advertise their wares. " She frowned.

"The black market is on most ports, but finding them can be hazardous." Dawn said then sighed again

Luka nodded. "I don't see any other way though. If you want to find him, you have to search the nastier parts of the ports, talk to awful people. "

Dawn nodded again "I know, it is one reason I am glad I can pass as a terran, they can do more with less chance of being taken"

Luka nodded. She could mostly pass for terran for those unfamiliar with the imperium, just with unusual colourations. Perhaps if she dyed her hair it would be less obvious. Hmm. "You must be careful the questions you ask though. Asking too much about one Pandorian man may alert them to the fact you aren't terran at all. "
