Upon Silver Devil: Chapter One

You would notice the smaller ship among the giants, docked to the space port it was in search of new crew members after the last few... left suddenly.

"What is that?" Dawn asked, looking to him again

"If they get an encoded signal from me personally that the warrant has been served and completed, it'll be frozen till I bring you back to the company. I have 48 hours, it's not much but it buys you time to put some distance between you and this region of space. "

Dawn nodded and looked to Silv and Vicky then back to him "You would do that?"

"oh there's a catch. I've no reason to return to the company now, not unless it's to put a bullet in my boss' head, but if they wanted me dead, it's better they assume I am. Then they won't come looking for me. You'd have to help me fake my own death and grant me safe passage out of this system. From there, I couldn't care less what you do. It'll only be a matter of time before they catch up with you again, but that's not my problem. " He got to his feet. "or of course we can just sit around waiting for the next lot to come knocking at your door. How many do you think you can hold off till you're too exhausted to fight any more?"

"Deal." Silv said calmly, eyeing him still in a wary manner.

He smirked slightly, watching Silv. "Sure you don't have to okay it with your captain?" He asked. Really he didn't have much of a plan here, he was playing it by ear and hoping to get out of here alive.

"I own half this ship, and we are on good enough terms." She said smoothly.

"Fair enough. Let me out of this cage then."

"Wouldnt it be better to do that once we are planet side?"

"He has to send that message, add in that his ship is deteriorating and there's his 'death'" Dawn said calmly

"Alrighf." She commed acus to give him a heads up as she carefully released him.

He quite calmly walked out of the cage and held out a hand to Dawn. "Warrant card please."

Dawn looked up at him and handed him the cards without a word.

He nodded and followed them upstairs then.

Swarm was waiting for them, and frowned when they saw the prisoner was free. "What's going on?" they asked.

Esk looked rather revolted with the creature.

"A deal." Silv said as she snd vicky followed. Acus causally waited as he just watched the whole thing silently hackles raised.

Dawn went to the shuttle bay, looking at the ship and checking to see if it was ready to be destroyed

It was ready to be.

Esk just kinda glared at the lot of them. "First things first, I want my weapons back. If if makes you feel better, let her hold them." He indicated Silv. "I need to access the console on my ship, if you want to supervise that too, be my guest." He sounded snarky. "Once I have the message out, you'll have 48 hours before the bounty reactivates. I suggest you use that time wisely."

"Very well." Acus said coolly, nodding for Silv to grab them from the weapon storage.

Esk just waited.

The swarm studied him. "What ARE you?" they asked curiously.

"Buzz off." He hissed back at them.

The swarm tilted their head. "Not Hexenfolke... maybe half... something else.. but what?"

"Not a clue bugs, how about you go muse about it elsewhere before I find something to swat you with."

Dawn looked around the shuttle, since no one was there, hoping to find clues though he had acted surprised.

It was a pretty boring shuttle. There were some weapons stashed away, spares it seemed. Looked like the full crew compliment should have been about 6 people. It was a well armored, well equipped little ship, but little all the same.

Dawn frowned at that, taking the weapons to hide in the shuttle bay for now then going back in again to check out more and try to figure it out.

Silv would follow to keep watch, having a tight hold on the weapons.

Esk lead the way back to his own ship, picking over the bodies of his fallen crew mates with little to no concern, he didn't even really seem to acknowledge them unless they were in the way.

He watched Dawn suspiciously. "What are you up to Pandorian?"

Dawn looked up at him then shrugged "You want to fake your death, right?"

"What have you got planned?" He asked, he didn't trust these people at all, why should he?
