Upon Silver Devil: Chapter Four

Dawn would be alright, she just got bored laying there alone and without a project to do.

Luka came to join everyone else once they'd landed. She wasn't going out there, least no further than the space port out of curiosity.

Esk tucked his stone away where it would be easily accessible should things go wrong. He stood ready for orders.

Mourn reluctantly left his laptop, putting his stone into the pocket of his coveralls. "What plan?"

"Get Asher inside and fixed then go home." Nova answered. She looked to Mourn as she spoke then looked to the others.

Tala unfastened Asher's seatbelt thingy for him again. That way when he teleported down in a bit, he wouldn't take the whole ship with him or something. Probably Nova had made it so that wouldn't happen, but still.

Asher nodded to Nova, then looked around at the group. "That's the gist of it, yes. Rigel and Nova will go with me to get myself repaired. Rigel acting as my owner, while Nova keeps us safe. Mourn comes along too if he wants, since he ordered the part and therefore might be needed. The rest of you can do as you see fit. Whether that's buying memorabilia, coming with us to BrainTech headquarters, or staying on the ship if you prefer. Don't be vigilantes, don't make a scene, don't buy androids, that's all that matters. My repairs will probably take a few hours at least, so make your plans accordingly. Any questions?"

"Keep the Felid close." Esk advised.

Mourn snickered. "Death man no trust." He made a face at Esk.

Esk glared but looked to Rigel for orders.

Luka shook her head. "Good luck, i'll keep the ship ready, just in case."

"Try not to get in trouble or start arguments." Rigel said as he came to them. "Hopefully this will be done quickly without problems."

Asher nodded. "I'm sure everyone will keep hold of their sense. We all know what's at stake here. Let's go get this over with." He looked around, smiled gratefully at Luka, then reached into his pocket to find the teleporting stone. "Teleport," he said quietly.
He vanished, to reappear in the cargo bay.

Moriah grinned and headed down the stairs to join him.

Tala stayed where she was. "Have a fine time, I shall stay and help to guard the ship," she told Rigel.

Rigel smiled and waved. "You girls have fun." He said then went to rejoin Asher with Nova.

"Be careful." Dawn said from her room's doorway. She waved bye to those who were going.

"Be careful..." Luka echoed Dawn, watching them all go and trying not to look too fretful. After all James had ever said of this place and this company, and her own feelings toward terrans. Still, it was a simple job. Get Asher repaired, get back to the ship. It couldn't possibly go horribly wrong surely? She told herself that she was just being silly.
"We'll see you soon!"

Esk went with Rigel, because SOMEONE had to go with the captain and he figured his role as security meant that someone was him.
He did however make an effort not to be as heavily armed as he usually was, he was sensible enough to know going into somewhere strapped with guns was going to do more than raise a few eyebrows. Still, he didn't need guns to hurt people now did he? Between him and Nova, they should be fine. And Rigel wasn't exactly defenseless himself anyway.

"Try not to get into any trouble while we're gone" He told the girls, smirking a little.

Luka made a face at him.

Mourn skipped off ahead of everyone else to get to the cargo bay. He looked excited.

Asher pinned on his badge while the others made their way down, and nodded to them when they arrived. "All right, let's get going."

Moriah pinned on her own badge and stood near him. She looked more excited than anyone in this situation should.

Tala cow-smiled at Dawn and Luka. "The ship is ours! We shall defend it with blood and fury, and also enjoy the quiet!"
She approved of this plan.

Luka snorted with laughter. "Sure, but until then, what do we do?"

Dawn chuckled and shrugged "Pretty much whatever we want for now."

Tala blew air through her nostrils happily. "There is music and dancing, or there is cookery," she suggested.

"I'm not a good cook." Luka laughed. "Or a very good dancer." She snorted, didn't mean she didn't try though.

"I don't think I should dance yet." Dawn said and shrugged. "I can cook though."

"One does not need to dance or cook well to enjoy such activity." Tala declared. She nodded to Dawn, "Then we shall cook. Something that is vegan, I prefer." She couldn't digest animal proteins of any type, after all. Veganism was pretty necessary for her.

Dawn nodded and headed for the kitchen, thinking of what she could make that was vegan. "Oatmeal is vegan, and you can add any kind of fruit to it, like raisins." She said thoughtfully.

Luka followed along. She wasn't really sure what was and wasn't vegan. "What can you eat Tala?" She asked before looking to Dawn. "how are you healing up?"

"I can eat most anything that does not come from an animal," Tala said. "No meats, no milk, no eggs, not even honey." She considered the idea of oatmeal, "The others will be gone a while, we could make something of greater complexity if we liked."

"What would you like to make?" Dawn asked "I am healing fine"

Tala opened the fridge and scented the air thoughtfully, nostrils flaring. "We should perhaps bake something, mayhap a savory or a sweet pastry. There are recipes that do not require the sin of eggs and milk. Or there are stir-fries and suchlike." She knew a surprising amount about cooking, it was kind of necessary when you worked on ships alongside people who had no special dietary needs.

"Ooh, sweet pastries, that sounds good." Dawn said with a grin.

"pasty without butter?" Luka asked. "If you know a recipe, why not?"

Tala nodded. "We will substitute some other type of oil, it shall work reasonably well." She started pulling out ingredients, telling the others what was needed from memory as best she could. "Mayhap an actual recipe would be wise, I have not made many sweet pastries," she mused.

Dawn nodded and gathered what she could then went to get her tablet to look up recipies

Luka looked excited. "i've never actually baked anything before." She gushed. Her father wasn't exactly one to cook for pleasure after all, and she couldn't remember her mother.

"Excellent, then this shall be a fine chance to learn of most delicious skills," Tala told Luka good naturedly. "There are few things better than cooking food. Slaughtering one's enemies is also pleasing of course, but it does not fill the stomach."
"The two of you will handle reading the recipe, I will follow orders as I do not like deciphering the small squiggles on the screen," she added.

Dawn chuckled and nodded "Alright, here we go." She said then read off the ingredients, making sure they had the right things in the right measurements before reading how to mix and cook them to make the pastry.
