Upon Celestial Tiger: Chapter One

A small, fast space yacht. The last owner named it Celestial Tiger.

Three small bedrooms (with bunks), one bathroom. Very small storage hold. combined dining/living area. Everyone's going to hate each other by the end of this road trip.

Ethan watched the other people in the bar as they drank, trying to not piss off Luka enough to hit him. Well, this was better than staying on the Tiger and stewing in his irrationally squicked out thoughts, at least? He kinda wished he could get drunk too though, bah.

Luka made it through about 10 shots before she paused, huffing in annoyance. "When I was a cadet, I could drink most of the guys under the table long before I started feeling drunk." She indicated the barman pour her a beer. "Drinking alone is just depressing." She looked at Ethan. "Why are you here?" That might have come out a bit more hostile than intended.

"I'm here because if I stayed on the ship, I'd just be stewing in shitty thoughts. At least out here there's stuff to watch," Ethan said, somewhat defensively. "If you want a drinking partner, you'd have to talk the captain into it, and I'm not sure how you'd do that."

"You guys have it rough, can't even drown your sorrows." Luka remarked dully. She looked at Rigel. "You guys lose control if you get drunk right? Or.. can. I mean Dawn got wasted and she didn't kill everyone. But.. like.. what do you guys DO to make yourselves feel better?" She looked from Rigel to Ethan and back again. "Both of you."

Rigel held up his drink "You can pretend this is alcoholic. Or we can start a drinking game with these people" He said cheerfully

"I read and try to distract myself. Or I practice meditation and mindfulness shit. It sucks, but it's not like there's any other option," Ethan said. "Yes, make someone start a drinking game. That'll be good."

Rigel shrugged "Usually we just go out and use our powers until we have to stop or we calm down again."

"ahh, the shoot slash punch things approach. That sounds healthy." Luka snorted. She looked around at everyone in the bar critically. Hmmm.
She stood up. "Who wants to play a game?" She declared rather loudly.

A guy sitting at a table looked up with interest. "What sort of game, kid?"

Ethan tried not to look interested, but he kind of was. Not a good idea to call Luka 'kid' on a day like this, he bet.

Rigel smirked and shook his head "A drinking game."

Luka's eyes narrowed at being called kid. It was marginally better than boy, but still.
She held up her glass. "think you can beat me?"

The guy grinned. "Sure. Any day of the week."

Ethan couldn't help but smirk like Rigel. He didn't think Luka was in a losing mood today.

Luka looked to the barkeep. "Line em up." She instructed, stalking over to the guy and taking a seat opposite him. She had a vicious glint in her eye.

The bartender did as instructed, looking resigned. At a space station like this one, this happened a LOT.

Hopefully nobody would puke or start a brawl this time. He crossed his fingers after he brought over the booze.

Rigel looked at the bartender and raised his glass a little to him. He would try to keep this at least halfway civil

The bartender smiled wanly at Rigel. He kinda hated his job. He went back to the bar and discretely sent out a text to someone, just in case.

Ethan watched, amused.

"Just remember, any fights, you go outside, we don't want a bill from breaking this place." He said, glancing to Luka then to the other male.

Luka snorted. "Fine." She looked over the drinks. "Speed, endurance or skill?" She demanded.

"Endurance," the guy said confidently. "If you think you can handle it."

Luka smirked. "Bring it on."

Rigel just sat back to watch the 'game' play out

The guy picked up one of his shot glasses, and rapidly drained it.

Ethan glanced to Rigel. "Bets on when Luka's gonna break his nose? He seems annoying and she's in a terrible mood."

Rigel chuckled then shrugged and glanced to Ethan before looking back at the two contestants. "Maybe the sixth shot? He doesn't seem the sort to have a filter." He said quietly.

Luka matched the guy drink for drink, though she was already probably way ahead of him on alchohol consumption, she wasn't going to let some guy beat her.
She slammed her empty glass down on the table and looked at him challengingly.

"I'd say less than that, Luka's in a terrible mood," Ethan said.

The guy matched Luka's drinking easily so far, he didn't seem to be having trouble yet. "So how old are you, anyway?" He asked.

Luka glowered. "None of your damn business." She picked up another glass. "old enough to kick your ass at this."

"Old enough to be in here?" He asked, before draining another glass of his own. He'd had a few drinks before this game too, and he was starting to look a little flushed.

A woman walked into the room, wearing a [Terran United Android] badge. She eyed the drinking game resignedly, then went behind the counter to go get a mop. Something was going to need cleaning up, and she was the one who got to do that, yay.
