Hytar's Ship

Vicky was busy setting up her quarters, after some negotiations and the like she had join Hytar group for a while. Busily she set up her gaming system, though knew since the new upgrade she wouldn't be playing all night. While many races found sleep annoying she found it delightful being able to do it now.

Vicky flopped on the bed partly wondering if he was doing this just to be nice. She shoved those thought aside and waited for dinner time the come.

7 came and a bell chimed somewhere. It sounded like a real bell, amplified through the com system so it traveled the whole manor.

Lope, having gotten changed and a little more cleaned up waited outside the dining room doors while various people filed past him.
He hopped nervously from padded foot to padded foot as he tried to find Vicky.

Vicky would walk in, and found Lope quickly. She didn't get all famcy for this dinner, staying dress in what she put on earlier with slip on ballet flats. The only thing different was her single french braid to keep her hair out of her face. "So...how does this work?" She asked him sheepishly.

"The manor staff mostly seem to eat wherever they are, but the residents, well.. you'll see." Lope smiled his lopsided smile and lead her into the dining room.

It was a large opulent room with a very long table in the center. Mirrors hung along one wall making the room seem even bigger while french doors opened out onto the gardens on the other wall.
The floor was tiled and the table looked antique like most of the furniture in this place.

A good dozen people had already taken their seats. Vicky would recognise Saira, Eleven and Ivor, though Toby was nowhere to be seen and Hytar was conspicuously absent.

"The boss never eats with us." Lope explained, as if guessing what Vicky might ask. "neither do a few of the ... unsociables." He chuckled and pulled out a chair for her to sit before taking a seat himself beside her.

She nodded, "This is brining back memories." Vicky chuckled taking a causallg seat and nodding her thanks, "Similar scale to what some of our sponsors do when trying to smooze."

Lope laughed softly, he still looked a bit awkward. "I can safely say i've never had to deal with a smooze dinner."

Ivor was staring at them, as was the girl sitting beside him.

She was a stern, grumpy looking girl with youthful features, curly brown hair and eyes the colour of blood.

Lope made a face and lowered his voice. "What'd you do to piss Silence off?" He risked a look at the girl who's eyes narrowed at him.

Ivor averted his gaze, mumbling to himself as he fiddled with his napkin, resting his stunted arm on the tabletop.

"Her, brother I am assuming, was in my head earlier and I shut him out.. A little bit on the sharp side I'll admit." Vicky shrugged, "But there info there that doesn't need to be out." Calmly the Cyborg returned the glare, seemingly not effected by the look of hatred as she wondered what dinner was.

As if on cue 4 people in smart suits appeared with trays of food and started to serve everyone.
This meant the grumpy looking girl had to divert her attention, nodding vaugely to the sever as her meal was put in front of her.

Lope and Vicky were served as well, and pitchers of water were placed in the middle of the table for anyone who wanted a drink.

Dinner was some sort of stew, it smelled good.

And as quickly as they came, the staff filed out again, and conversation resumed amongst the diners.

"I don't know if I should be impressed you've managed to make an enemy already." Lope laughed lightly and dug into his food.

The diners really didn't look at all in place, none of them were dressed formally, few of them had very good table manners and several had downright awful manners and were eating with their hands. It was quite a contrast to the very classy surroundings.

Vicky smirked and grinned, "It a talent I have, but it helpful in the long run believe it or not." Years of playing diplomate for the guild of hers kicked in as she started to eat with calm and perfect manner. "Mm, quite good actually." She poured herself a glass, though she wondered if there was bread and butter. That always go well with stew.

There were plates of bread rolls, if she could fight off the ravenous other diners a few of whom seemed to treat mealtime as if it would never come again.

Eleven guarded their food with one arm.

Saira ate sedately, picking at her meal with a fork while she watched someone on a phone in the other hand.

Ivor kept twitching and twisting his head as if he had something crawling around in his ears or something, but he managed to get mouthfuls in between spasms.

His sister ate like some sort of savage, picking up the whole bowl and using a hand to shovel it into her mouth.

Lope quite intentionally kept his head down and tried not to watch his crewmates weird eating habits.
There was a guy down one end of the table who had completely forgone the use of cutlery or hands and was lapping and scoffing his food like a dog.

Vicky stole a few rolls before they were all gone and started to dip small pieces of bread into the stew. She refused to give up her good eating habits, and would take her time to enjoy her food to the fullesf even if this brought forth nicknames.

Lope snuck a side glance at Vicky. He still found it kinda weird she actually had to eat, it was a strange requirement to give a cyborg yet make them unable to sleep, like, surely that was backwards?

A few of the crew kept sneaking glances at Vicky as well, curious about the new girl.

She kept quite for a few minutes before commenting, "I am not a telepath, so if you have questions I reccomend saying something instead of staring." In all reality she can go for a week without food but since her organs were organic she had to provide nutrition still.

One of the diners laughed. "Thank fuck for that." they remarked.

Another agreed.

Silence glared at them.

"wanna know who you are.. what.. what you're doing here. Why.. why the boss hired you. Rumours, she's a robot, no a cyborg, no an android.. " Ivor shook his head back and forth and muttered incoherently again.

"stay out of our heads you little freak." One of the crew muttered.

"stop thinking so loud!" Ivor yelled back.

Lope put a hand on Vicky's shoulder, freezing. "this is one of the reasons some of the others have dinner in their rooms." He told her.

Silence turned her attention to her brother, grabbing his head quite suddenly and yanking his face toward her own, staring at him with stern, cold eyes.
Ivor struggled, then relaxed, nodding groggily.
Silence let him go and he went back to eating as though nothing had just happened.

Chairs creaked as people shuffled a little further away from the siblings.

Saira never even looked up from her phone through all this, but she spoke cooly "thank you. That was starting to get annoying."

"I see no point to exclude those who are different, if that the case then I would be living along all my life." Vicky told Lope with a shrug, taking a drink of water before saying a little bit about herself, "I am a cyborg, just recently jump crews as my last contract ran out. I'm train in combat and under cover type works and quick thinking when the need arises." She purposely left out the Assassin part, there no reason for the rest to know for now.

Lope went back to his food now the tension was over.

The others grumbled a bit but seemed satisfied by vicky's introduction.

She ignored the grumbling while she finished her food, having enjoyed it greatly she properly put her utensils down and folded her hands neatly on her lap waiting for Lope to finish.

Lope wiped his mouth on the napkin.

Once everyone was done the staff reappeared to clear the tables and while some remained to chat and drink water, several others rose and left.

Silence cast one final glare to vicky before she and Ivor got up and left, her leading him as he mumbled and rambled about voices.



Lope indicated the french doors. "shall we go for that walk then?" he asked, looking a little uncertain all of a sudden, as if he expected her to say no.

She smiled softly, "Yea, you lead the way?" She stood up and waited for him to start walking.

Lope got up, eagerly bounding over to the doors and pulling them open as he lead Vicky enthusiastically down across the well manicured lawn.

Saira glanced up from her phone and looked to Eleven. "ten credits say they're gonna end up sleeping together."

Eleven made a face. "HIM? Really? Of all the guys?"

Saira smirked.

"you're on." Eleven nodded.

Vicky followed, looking around in curiousity her mind admittedly wandering a bit at all the little knook and crannies. She stayed close to lope, fighting thay romantic side of her to read out to grab his hand.

He lead her across the lawns, which were tiered into neat steps and into a walled rose garden. "How are you settling in?" He asked. Small talk, yay.

"Pretty well, the style is a little old fashion but that a personal issue." She chuckled, enjoying the view. With her mind else where she may not notice anything in the path that could easily trip them.

Lope chuckled. "yeah, I often wonder how old some of that stuff actually IS. Or is it all reproduction? The Boss is rich and old, like.. really old... I know that much, but hey, there's heating and hot water and regular meals, not a bad deal right?" He padded along soundlessly, his large cat-like feet seemed to allow him to move with a great deal of unintentioned stealth.

The path wound around the raised beds where roses had closed their blooms for the night.
Above them the sky shimmered with the sheen of the atmospheric bubble and shielding that surrounded this place, but beyond the shimmering glassy surface you could still see the stars.

"Nope, the shower thing is really nice." She laughed, looking up at the sky briefly. "Lope...i am honestly sorry you saw that entry in my diary.." She admitted, holding a sheepish look. She paused briefly to adjust one of shoes. If she wanted to she could be quite quiet. (Hmm... To have them trip or no...)

Lope looked away, blushing a little. Had to bring it up again huh? He shook his head. "It's alright. It's.. almost.. flattering I suppose." He glanced back at her. "What man wouldn't be flattered to get the eye of a woman such as yourself?" His blush deepened and he stared at his own feet.

She weakily chuckled, "Yeah, doesn't mean it not as embarrassing as hell." She took a step, not looking down at the wrong time her toe caught onto a loose root and she landed in the grass with a oofm.
