Upon Vestia: Chapter Thirteen

"Probably," Asher said. "That's the consolation prize."

James grinned. "Asher's a complete goofball once he warms up to people, he just tends to be a bit uncomfortable around strangers. Either Kay is the same way, or Asher's idiocy is just contagious."
They'd reached a bunch of empty rooms. James waved to the doors expansively, "Pick a door. Any door!"

Sawna chuckled and looked to the choices, going to a random door to look inside it curiously "Oh, very nice" She said as she went further in to look around

James wandered into the room after her, looking around happily. "Man, if I wasn't part of the other ship's crew, I'd so get one of these rooms. Look at it! It's complete luxury!"

Sawna smiled at him and nodded "Yes, it is." She agreed then moved to sit on the bed.

"So is there anything else you need?" James asked. "Cause if you do, we can probably find it." He doubted she had been able to bring everything she needed from the mirrorverse.

Sawna shrugged and looked around the room "If I think of something, I will let you know, but for now, this is enough" She said modestly. It wasn't like she had had much anyway since they had been taken as slaves.

Swarm bobbed for a bit, Sawna could probably hear them laughing.

"I'm too lazy to move my stuff into a whole new room," James said with a laugh. It wasn't like he had much stuff to move, he just was lazy. Ha. "Should I leave you alone to get settled in, Sawna?" he asked.

Sawna smiled at Swarm's laughing then thought about James' question before shrugging "Only if you want to, though it probably would be best to clean up so we stop smelling like the slave ship, but after that I would like to explore more of this ship."

James make a startled noise. "Oh man, I probably smell awful!" He sniffed the air, completely ineffectively. "WHY did they not give me a sense of smell? WHY?"

Swarm continued to laugh. --bathe-- --then--
Oh it was nice to have James back, ridiculous as always. What a relief.

"I'll see you guys later. I gotta try and scrub smells I can't even detect off myself now," James said, heading for the door. Maybe he'd ask Tala to come smell him when he was done, make sure he'd gotten the stink of the slave ship off. Might be worth it, even if she was kind of annoying sometimes. Hmm.

Sawna chuckled softly and nodded "Probably so you couldn't smell some of the places. Don't worry, it's usually hard to smell yourself anyway, your mind tunes out your own smell, like background noise, so you wouldn't be able to smell yourself anyway." With that she got up to check out the bathroom

"Yeah, I've heard people say that. It's still awkward!" James waved to his friends, and raced off to the Silver Devil to get some fresh clothes and take a shower.

Swarm bobbed up and down. "Goodbye for now, Enjoy your shower Carpathian." They scattered.

TIME DESYNC - AFTER PEOPLE WAKE UP AND WASH AND STUFF

James had, sure enough, gone to Tala for advice on his scent after he bathed. She told him he smelled like a car, as usual. James had spluttered and coughed, and flounced off.

Asher was looking around the med bay, making sure things were in order. He found some glitter on a counter and carefully swept it off to throw out.
It was good to be home.

Tala was on the holodeck, rolling in a meadow of flowers to make her pelt feel less itchy. She had left her pants on for Vestia's sake. The ship seemed oddly picky about these things.

Ellie was checking EVERY plant in Hydroponics. This would take FOREVER, but she didn't care. This was IMPORTANT.

Bianca had vacated Asher's pocket and vanished into a wall.

Ethan had found the library and was currently trying to figure out if he was actually allowed in, or if Vestia was just teasing him. You could never tell with libraries. They were usually restricted to rich old people.

Vestia was reveling in the sound of people. It felt so good to have voices echoing in her halls again! Finally she felt like a proper cruise ship!

Mourn woke and went looking for food.

Esk wandered off to find somewhere quiet to sit and draw. It was good to be back here, quiet, less chaotic. Still, a part of him missed the mirror universe. It had felt.. more homely to him and he couldn't quite fathom why. Unlike the others, he really hadn't found it particularly awful, in fact, several elements seemed a lot better there. The Imperium weren't warmongers, the Terrans weren't delusional hypocrites...
Still, this Vestia was nicer and nobody was trying to kill anyone. So... that was an improvement.

He sketched out a scene, a crystal castle and forest below....

Matt eventually clamboured out of the pool, dried off and then went to find the cleaning bots. it had been a week without his guidance, he convinced himself the mindless things had missed him because it made him feel a bit better.
He dragged a mop and bucket out of the supply closet and set to cleaning, even though nothing really needed cleaning. it was a mindless repetitive task, just perfect for a stressed mind.

Luka was going for a jog.

---Hey Mourn--- Vestia flashed her lights, ---I promised Ethan I was going to ask you about something---

Mourn looked up at her and tilted his head. "Other robot? " What the heck did the other robot want that he couldn't just say himself? Weird paranoid other robot. He shook his head. "What?"

---Well he didn't ask me to ask it, I just told him I'd ask it--- Vestia clarified, although honestly it probably didn't make anything much clearer. ---You're his owner?---

Mourn nodded. "Best way to get him off old ship. Other owners wanted wipe memory, couldn't let them do that." He cackled. "So bullied them into giving him to me instead! Now he safe."

Poor robot. Nobody deserved to have their memory wiped. Grr grr Avian Creator grr grrr.
---He mentioned that some of the crew thought he might be dangerous, which is why he has an owner still?---

Mourn frowned. "Other robots no want him free yet, scared he... spoil chance of freedom for everyone. I think paranoid. Other robot no threat, angry but no stupid. But they see, once he settled in they see and no be able to yell at me for freeing." He nodded. "no want to own people, but he safer now. I free him as soon as I can, as soon as others see he no bad. Worried, if they decide he... too much of threat to robot medic plans, might have left him in other universe see? And he no want to stay there, I ask, he insist on coming here. " Mourn shook his head. "He be alright. His rules different to robots here, can defend self, can have approximate freedom so long as I no give direct order. He no get hurt like robot here, can't be manipulated same way. "
