Upon Silver Devil: Chapter Three

[I can't say i've ever seen him drunk actually. I haven't seen him in nearly ten years.] Hmm that'd be interesting. [He got tall.] He smiled oddly, trying to make light of what was clearly pretty awkward and difficult.

"Good idea. Vestia suggested packing some vavare silk stuff too, so we can get ourselves armored up," James said. He went to look out a window for a moment, then shivered and backed away. "Man, that's a long way to fall."

Esk looked down at himself, he always wore body armor, he didn't feel comfortable in another else. "I don't think that's gonna be a problem." He pointed out. He smirked at James. "Scared of heights now too?"

"I'm not scared of heights, I'm scared of unnecessary amounts of open space," James said huffily.

Esk rolled his eyes. "you can't fall, not unless the ship falls apart and if that happens, you have way more problems than falling."

James grumbled under his breath. Louder he added, "Nobody understands me. Rigel! Esk is being mean!"

Rigel chuckled at that call and looked back towards the two "About what?" He called back before making his way back to the pair "What's up?"

Esk snickered. Being mean? Wasn't that his default state of being?

"He rolled his eyes at me, and said I couldn't fall, he's not taking my problems seriously," James complained. Yeah, he really did like being the center of attention.

Rigel had to try hard to not just face palm and shake his head at that. "Yeah, he pretty much does that, and there's nowhere to fall, we have our own gravity."

"Is he gonna do this the whole trip? If so, can I have some earplugs or can we just knock him out?" Esk suggested dryly.

"Now you're being mean too," James grumbled to Rigel. "Tala! Back me up here!"

Tala wiggled her ears. "I want no part in your silliness, former slave."

James humphed and flounced off. He wasn't actually annoyed, but he needed a dramatic exit, okay?

Esk scoffed. "It's gonna be a long trip." He remarked, getting up to go for a wander. He didn't much want to go to his room, but damnit this ship was small and cramped. He'd gotten way too used to Vestia and all those places to hide.

"This voyage is like the olden days, and it is most satisfactory," Tala declared. "I had yearned for the entertainment of this crew." Yes, it was nice to see so many of the Silver Devil crew on the same small ship again. And Esk and James were funny, in her opinion.

"It is curious to be back here and almost all together again." Swarm remarked as they formed into their humanoid shape.

Luka set course for Defiant.

Rigel chuckled and nodded. It was good to be together again and James was funny

Esk muttered something in his native tongue, it was probably derogatory and went to find somewhere a bit less crowded. Not easy on a ship this cramped, but he'd try damnit.

"I do hope that we shall take joy in the company of each other," Tala told Swarm. "I am glad for this return to simplicity, although the low door frames are less satisfactory."

(Do we want to head straight to Defiant when we're ready to timeskip, or go slower?)

(Up to you guys. Some banter could be amusing lol. How long is the trip to defiant?)

(It's about a week, I think.

Too bad Acus isn't here to complain about bras, hahaha, laundry day is gonna be so quiet)

(ahaha omg, Luka and Dawn can finally wash their bras in peace!)

The Silver Devil was well on its way to Defiant, but there were a few days to go still before they arrived. Things were going... As well as could be expected.

Tala was doing her best to adjust to not being the captain. She kept forgetting and issuing orders, oops.

James was his usual talkative self. It felt good to be on the Silver Devil again! Right now he was mopping the floors. Someone had to do it, after all.

Esk was still muttering about earplugs.
James' endless chatter was exhausting.
worse, he'd run out of junk food.

He'd resorted to sitting in the mess, feet up on the table, sketching irritably.

Swarm had settled back into their watching everything reigeme and were pretty contented. These people were interesting to observe.

Luka was delighted to be flying the Devil again, she had a soft spot for the old girl. She'd talk to the ship quietly when she didn't think anyone else was listening.

Rigel took Tala's slip ups in stride, so long as she kept up with sesible orders, he didn't have a problem with it.

Shane helped out with anything he could, bored when there wasn't anything to do.

Dawn kept herself distracted by reading off her tablet, though she stayed in the main room in case anyone wanted to talk or anything. She was the doctor on this ship after all.

James overheard Luka talking to the ship once or twice, but he knew that was kind of to be expected, so he didn't tease her. He did smile a bit though the times he overheard it, it was cute.

"We have water enough and we should wash clothes today!" Tala called.

Dawn chuckled at that call and looked up from her book "Should we?" She asked teasingly. She did kind of miss the teasing from Acus, but there wasn't anything they could do about that.
