Deeply Acus sighed as he paused and turned around, arms crossed. "Yes?"

Rigel helped cook, he hepad been seeing to that for himself for years as well.

"Of course it's not my fault." He snapped, then caught himself, looking away. "It's a stupid turn of phrase." He muttered. "If you remember, you guys killed my crew when we first met. " He shrugged. "in our lines of work, sentimental attachments seldom work out well."

"I can understand that. Your feathers are so nice," James said, running then through his fingers to look at the way they shimmered a bit in the light. "Still, must be annoying. Kind of like how people always want to poke you when they see you're an android."

"We shall be friends even after the haze of alcohol has cleared," Tala declared.

"Very, only about three species have true feather hairs." Acus deepily sighed.

Vicky mused and leaned in to kiss Esk.

He blinked in surprise at that sudden change of mood, but eagerly sank into the kiss, pulling her closer.

She let him pull her in, knowing she really had control of things (timeskip?)

"Three whole species?" James looked curious.

He nodded, "A race that simply are called the techno mages can have them, and then a bird reptile species can have feather hair too."

Esk lay on his back, he wasn't really a snuggling sort. "Feel better now, or do you still need to go smack a few idiot's heads in?" He asked.

"I'll have to find those guys someday. I wonder if their feathers are better than yours," James teased gently.

Vicky smirked, "Better for now, but if anymore idiots are around I'll glady take care of em."

James laugh, "Perhaps, perhaps not."

Esk shook his head. "Eh, leave a couple for me. You can't hog all the fun."

"Do any of them have feathers like peafowl? Because that would answer that question," James said. "I think your feathers are all nice and oily now. Do they feel about right?"

Acus nodded, "Yea, thanks." He laughed to the first part, "If that the case then man those guys would be jackasses."

"But so hot," James said. "All the shiny, colorful feathers."

He snorted, "and bald half the season too!"

"Bald is sophisticated," James said in a sensible tone. He went to wipe his hands off on a towel. "You need any food or anything?"

Rigel chuckled and nodded "Yes, we will stay friends" He said then turned to grab them some plates to eat off of.

Tala dished out food for herself, figuring that Rigel would have a better idea how much he wanted, and sat down at the table to eat. "I do hope Esk thought to eat and drink. He is a nice youngster," Tala said, in a way that suggested that she genuinely believed he was.

"Rigel got his own plate of food and made sure the burners were off before joining Tala at the table "He's nice enough once you get past that shell he has up."

"He is like a minotaur. We are also better when we are drunk," Tala said. She started eating ravenously.

Rigel shrugged at that and started eating too. He had water to drink with the meal.

"uhm..something sweet." He said sheepishly, "What that therapist did really drained me." He sighed.

James nodded. "Anything specific, or are you gonna trust me and my complete lack of taste and smell to get you something good?" He set the feather oil bottle back where he had found it.

"Well since the sweets on ship is rather limit yea..." He mused

James laughed and hurried off. He'd poke around in the kitchen for a bit and eventually find some rather stale chocolate chip cookies (Tala watched him judgmentally, so he was careful to not let her smell them) which he brought back to Acus.
"I've been way too nice lately," he told Acus, lightly tossing the box of cookies to him, "I'm getting soft in my old age."
