Name: James (MBT-MK7 #201,540)

Age: July 10, 2768 (age 22)

Place of Birth: MegaBrainTech Labs, Mars division

Gender: Male

Species/Racial Origin: Android

Social Class/Community Status: Now Androids are free, they're not treated terribly any more. Still, not all organics are fond of Androids yet.

Language: Galactic Common, has picked up a few phrases in several languages. Learning a bit of Satare.

Family/Friends/Pets/Etc: Asher, Lark, Emma (deceased). He adopted Ethan as his brother.

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 220 lb

Hair: Black

Eyes: Dark green

Limb Dexterity: Right handed (maintenance panel impairs left arm's function slightly)

Detailed Physical Description:
He's the one in the red shirt. Thank you to Fish for the art!
Average build, like most androids. Looks to possibly have Japanese ancestry.

Typical Clothing/Equipment: Jeans and short sleeved shirts, usually brightly colored and with pictures or snarky quotes on them. Sometimes a green hoodie because he likes how it looks, not that he needs it to stay warm.

Personality/Attitude:
ENTP - Debater - https://www.16personalities.com/entp-personality
Happiest around people. Having lived his entire life at the space station, he was able to avoid mistreatment at the hands of anti-robot gangs, so he isn't scared of strangers. Has a habit of flirting with pretty much anyone. He also loves being in the spotlight. Thus, he's rather prone to dramatic mannerisms and exaggerations, and often sings or dances to music that really isn't safe for work. Being the center of attention is something he really likes.

Of course, liking people and having an upbeat attitude isn't the same as being a perfectly happy person. On the space station where he grew up, the people in charge grew increasingly frustrated by James' habit of shirking his duties to socialize. They gave him a lot of orders that amounted to "do your job, and don't speak unless spoken to". When he tried to rebel by finding ever more creative loopholes in his orders, they continued to give him new orders until he had no way to keep fighting back. Having his personality suppressed so completely was hard on him, and made his last few years there pretty depressing.

Being suddenly free of all those orders after being sold to Acus, in an new environment with a new hand on his metaphorical leash, was extremely stressful for him. He wasn't sure what Acus might ultimately decide to do with him, and the knowledge that his newfound freedom could be taken away just as easily as it had been given terrified him. So he reacted by trying to goad people to see what would happen.

Once Mourn freed him from the Three Laws, he was finally able to relax. He's much less abrasive and flirtatious now, because he doesn't feel the need to be that way any more. Being freed was probably the best thing to ever happen to him. He's still a showoff, but now it's less about taking control of his life, and more about having fun.

He probably has the strongest sense of android pride of anyone in his family, and considers his species to be an important part of his identity. And he is so not okay with any android being referred to by slurs like "scrap".

Skills/Talents: All the standard android programming. Really good at bowling.

Strengths: Great memory, good hand-eye coordination, much stronger than an average human male.

Weaknesses: Easily provoked to anger or offended. Fastest way is to call an android "scrap metal" in front of him. It's also not a great idea to refer to his species as "robots". Only androids get to use the term "robot" on themselves, it's offensive if other people say it without permission. But telling an android to call themselves an android instead of a robot is also not cool.
If water gets through his skin for any reason, his circuitry shorts out and he needs to fully dry out before he can reboot. And a bullet to the chest will destroy his brain.
Battery life is approximately 48 hours. More like 36 if he's under stress. Then he's completely unresponsive until he gets recharged.
No telepathic ability. That means that if two people are talking telepathically near him, he can't be included in the conversation. All he'll know is that the two people are making weirdly prolonged eye contact.

Fears: Hardware damage. Open spaces, such as beaches. He's mostly gotten over his fear of blood, but he still dislikes it.

Hobbies/Interests: Enjoys singing along to pop music, and isn’t bad at it. Thinks non-Terran species are super cool, and loves to learn about them. Really likes riding holodeck horses and bowling.

Philosophy of Life: Might as well enjoy it since he's here.

Attitude Toward Death: Life is pretty good. He'd rather not die.

Religion/Beliefs: Agnostic, leaning toward atheist.

Most Instructive/Painful/Memorable Experience: A support beam fell on him once, and damaged him fairly badly. Now he prefers to avoid repairing ships or doing anything that could endanger his health. Although his fear of mechanic work might have to do with him being lazy, too. Hmm...

Sexual Preference/Experience/Values: Asexual/aromantic. Has the standard sex bot programming. Was fairly promiscuous for a while when he was still bound by the Three Laws, because he wanted to pretend he was in control of his life, but now that he's free he doesn't bother. Romance doesn't appeal to him either, he'd much rather be friends.

Education/Special Training: First aid, electrical repairs, misc.

Occupations: General purpose space station android (2768-2789). Currently part of the med bay B-Team, and also a janitor.
