Third Planet Humanism
A popular religion among humans, very loosely based off the Abrahamic religions of Terra, Third Planet Humanism (derogatorily referred to as "Third World Humanism" by its opponents, and will henceforth be referred to as TPH) is considered controversial for its view of non-humans as "unclean" or "unnatural", and for its incredible ability to spawn hate groups and terrorist organizations.
Sects of this religion range widely in their views of aliens, from the Isolationists who choose to colonize unclaimed planets and avoid contact with alien life, to the Exterminators who seek out and have orders to kill non-Terran life on sight. Some TPH members mingle with other species, concluding that the universe is too full of life to ignore, but this is frowned upon, and usually results in their dishonorable eviction from their church.
In other aspects of their beliefs, TPH is a relatively open belief system. Many sects permit members to reach their own conclusions about controversial topics (as long as human superiority over alien life is not brought into question), such as whether robots are simply computers (and therefore safe to keep as servants) or artificial life (and therefore alien and disgusting). This makes them very popular with edgy teens, and thus a very fast-growing belief system with hundreds of thousands of converts every year.
