Detailed Physical Description:Tall, broad shouldered. athletic and rather boyish, Luka isn't the most femmine of girls. She lacks any real figure and does little to help matters by dressing in baggy gender neutral clothing most of the time. She prefers baggy comfortable clothing. She's never without a pair of well polished steel capped boots. Her vividly red hair is cut short and beginning to grow out slowly into a sort of shaggy mess she keeps having to brush out of her eyes. Her eyes are deep blue and her skin like most of her race, a rich brown colour.

A strange runic symbol is tattooed into Luka's left shoulder and two horizontal stripes are tattooed into each collarbone.

Personality/Attitude:Polite, stoical, well trained and generally loyal to her crew and employer, Luka can be seen as rather repressed and emotionless, certainly she tries to keep herself in check. Luka has one passion in life, flying. Nothing gets her to come out of her shell better than to let her behind the controls of a space craft. She enjoys sport, particularly those that require quick reflexes over brute strength, hikes and plays video games to de-stress.  She knows her way around most firearms and spends a fair amount of her spare time either watching sports matches or repairing gadgets.

Under all that military training though, she is at heart still a young girl. That means she does still feel things, she just waits till she's somewhere private to bury her head in a pillow and cry.

Luka is also pretty free and open about sex and relationships. She grew up with only brothers, so it takes rather a lot to freak her out and being military as well, there's just no time for prudishness or embarrassment. She will not however sleep with anyone she meets, she DOES have standards. But she will make crass jokes or laugh at similar.

She loves machines and has a tendency to talk to them as if they're alive. She refers the ship as "old girl" and doesn't like to see her abused. Acus' tendency to smack the console to get it to work is painful to watch. Luka insists you have to treat a ship like a real girl, with a gentle hand.

Like all Satare, she can't abide by slavery and finds the whole idea utterly repugnant. She also struggles a little with casual bigotry inherent in her culture. The Satare aren't sexist, but they are generally homophobic and xenophobic. She does try, but some aliens are just so damn WEIRD and creepy.

She also has no patience for cowardice or needless cruelty. While she respects the chain of command, in her culture, that command is one of merit and respect is earned through actions, not just because you hold rank. The quickest way to get yourself a mutiny is to abuse and disrespect your crew. Luka is thankfully pretty sensible though, even if she's not happy about her current employment status, she knows better than to start a fight and get herself shot or worse.  This isn't the military, this isn't home, she knows she has to suck it up and keep her mouth shut unless she wants to take a walk out the airlock. She'd rather prefer to continue to live thank you.

Strengths: Luka is rather strong, she's well built and well trained to break people's arms, legs, faces...
She like all Satare, has military training and it shows. She's also an excellent pilot.

Weaknesses: Like most Satare, she finds being around aliens a little difficult. Unlike most of them however, she's willing to suck up her prejudice and work with them. She hasn't got a choice and they have proven themselves to be worthy allies. Even so, she can sometimes put her foot in it with an ill considered slur or throw away comment. The Reich's xenophobia is a difficult thing to shed completely.

She's quite probably a traitor to her own people, that is, if they even knew she was alive. Oh well.

Attitude Toward Death: It's a dark cloud that looms over us all, better to ignore it. If you think about it too much you'll just never find your way back.

Religion/Beliefs: The Imperium aren't particularly religious. Luka is superstitious like most pilots, but not religious.

Fetishes/Strange Behaviors: Luka talks to the ship, a lot. She also pets the console and makes soothing noises.

Most Instructive/Painful/Memorable Experience: Her mother died when she was young, she was a doctor and one of her patients bit her. That is all Luka really knows, one day her mother was fine, the next she was sick and then she went away for “treatment”. She never came back.
Left as the only girl in the house, she never really had much in the way of a female role model. She grew up a huge tomboy but still resents when people mistake her for a boy. Sometimes she likes to imagine what her mother was like, she doesn't remember too much about her.

Crash landing.

Sexual Preference/Experience/Values: Heterosexual. Luka prefers older men, and authority. She doesn't really find the cocky pilots her own age particularly attractive, they're a bit annoyingly immature. Whether she's a virgin or not, she never really says. She certainly has little in the way of inhibitions relating to the topic of sex but whether that means she's got much experience is another matter.

Education/Special Training: Military training. Luka was conscripted at 14 and branched out into the air force (fleet) when given the option. Her father works as a fleet engineer and she comes from a long line of air force personal so it seemed the logical choice. Flying was in her blood.
Sadly her career was cut short when her ship crash landed on some alien world and her copilot was killed on impact. She's been wandering ever since. She claims she's trying to find a way home but really, she's honestly scared of what will happen when she gets back.
