Advanced Virtual Reality Room ("Holodeck")

Advanced Virtual Reality Rooms, colloquially referred to as "holodecks" in honor of the old Terran franchise known as Star Trek, are a type of reality simulator that accurately imitates sight, sound, touch, and (in the most advanced models) smell. Most support large numbers of players at once, although usually a single AVRR can't compute two separate simulations at once.

Developers have created simulations of settings from many famous fictional universes, as well as detailed replicas of real places on many planets.

AVRRs do not create real items; as soon as something simulated in the AVRR leaves its range, it disappears.
