The Last of the Alistair Family Headquarters

The car from the shore would drive all the way back to town and further. It pulled into an alleyway and the inhabitants within the car would depart: Judas, Gnu, Matthew, and finally Lai. Judas would place a small triangular object on the ground, and it sprang to life as a small circular blue portal.

They were transported to a small, white ship that orbited the planet above. Matthew seemd very familiar with the place and instantly called shower first and left to go bathe as Judas, Lai and Gnu were left alone. Gnu began tending to labrats with each of them in their own cages. Some of them looked very sick as a note written in common was posted up front: Please do not interact with the testing rats! They are contaminated with a lethal and contagious disease known as lycanthropy and are currently going under testing procedure. Thank you!

Lai was left alone as Matthew's brother, Judas, went to go tend to his notes, telling Lai to make herself at home.

She, well was in a very crabby mood as her back throbbed in pain from all the jarring trip. The avian hybrid would locate what pillowa she could to attempt to make a nest, those days on a air matress did not help her mood either. Lai really didnt speak since she wasnt sure what the hell to say at this point unless it could be verbalized in cranky hen growls.

Judas looks up at her, "I have painkillers." He said as he went back to studying the notes. He muttered to himself in Drakkan and shook his head. He then began to walk off, "Right, it's almost evening on the planet. We're going to be landing for the night for observation. Away from the city, of course. Just a small rock out on the beach."

"Please." She said, really not sure what to say to the guy since Matthew really never told her anything about their being others of his kin. She shook her head in attempt to remove the sand, her obvious reactions from before when it came to sand probably gave hint she wasn't raised planet side.

After washing his hands thoroughly, Judas went to go give the woman the pills and a glass of water. "So... I didn't know Matty had married. How long have you been together?" Judas said awkwardly, not sure how to take it.

Lai nodded her thanks and paused briefly to count, "Going on three months now...it was a alliance thing." She said while taking the pills and water, "my people's customs when it comes to trade for valuables is...different then most from what I have learned."

"Oh... So it wasn't exactly... Built up." Judas replied awkwardly as he went to the controls to began to situate the ship to leaves orbit for landing. "Well, did Matthew tell anything about me? Or has it all been work?" He chuckled, "All he ever thinks about is his career anymore... And he doesn't even like it..."

She admittedly shook her head no, "No, he actually never hinted there was even more of his kind out there, and for the most part work hasn't be talk much." She mused, "Last few weeks been complaining, he was injured in a fight and had to stay bed side for a while." She rolled her eyes.

"Well, there's a good reason he doesn't speak of us. Technically, our kind is long gone. If word was to get out that we're still alive and kicking, do you realize how many Empires would be on our asses to get at our gear? Or at least us so we can make the gear? Putting it simply, we thing Terran work and those like it as ancient technology for our standards. Who runs on electric charge anymore?" He suddenly laughed, "Yeah, Matty's always been very adamant in what he works on. I've tried to find him other work, but nothing pays like a slaver..."

Lai listened, "Terrans with this type of technology...the galaxy would be doom." She sighed, "I'm personally just a hybrid was two very different species."

"Terran, and any other empire, really." Judas said boredly, "You saw what we did today, right? With the mini star? What did you think it was? Technology or magic?"

"Combination." She remarked," you can only go so far to imitate magic with pure technology or pure magic alone, but by combining you can take the best of both qualities." She shrugged, "Sorry, I read alot when I was younger so I pratically memerized numerous magical theories and ideas."

"Yep. It's technology that uses arcane power. It was the Drakkan's pride to be able to do this. With it, we can make non-magical entities like ourselves, use magic. Or at least emulate it. It's just... Highly advanced technology." Judas smiled knowingly, "Oh? What kind of theories?"

"Mm mainly those in hopes to help the rarer tier Avian vessels control their powers better." She explained, "my mom was a teir four so she had all those books on hand in hopes of making things easier for future vessels and hybrids born on station."

"You could probably make something like that. Are we talking physical or mental?"

"Both." She explained, "Uhm, do you know the avian tier system for vessels or would you like me yo explain?" She asked before going into details.

"You could do that." Judas said kindly as there was a bit of turbulence hurtling through the atmosphere to the ocean below. The white ship started scoping the beach to find a place to land secretively.

Lai stayed seated, "Vessel abilities are divided in five tiers, from most common to rarest. Tier one is basic elemental abilitiea like air, water and so forth, tier two is mental abilities like telepath and such, third is advance element abilities like shadow bending. Fourth teir is physically abilities like heighten speed or strength, from my understanding sadly many hatchlings arent found found before they end up harming or killing themselves. Fifth tier is realm souls, uh
Force fields and a few others things."

Judas nodded, listening critically. "So the fourth and fifth tiers are lucky to make it past adolescence... Well, I bet you could probably talk with Matthew, and we could focus some of our funds on that..."

He suddenly grimaced, "Though, I doubt many people accept Matthew for his ways... Even I have a hard time tolerating it. Though it's hard to get appropriate funding anywhere else..."

Lai shrugged, "Well he does have a trade agreement with my tribe, the other four forbidden though I do not know what their views would be persay. Avia themselves would deny all help due to his alliance with one of the forbidden tribes so take that as you will." She sighed shaking her head, wondering how long does it take for a guy to shower, "Yesh, how long does it take for a guy to shower?"

"You didn't know?" Judas asked, suddenly wickedly grinning. "Matthew is a total perfectionist when it comes to how he looks. He's probably making sure he's perfectly shaved down to the last hair!" The brother snickered.

She snorted, "No wonders he complains when I take my weekly shower, which I probably need now but I dont exactly have anything to change into." She held this somewhat annoyed look, holding special thoughts for vestia crew.

Judas snorted. As if on cue, Matthew stepped out, in shorts but no shirt as he dried his spikey, wild black hair with a towel. His back and sides were covered in whiplash scars and on the lower left side of his back, a small brand that had the letters, "Co." He didn't speak, other than a simple, "What'd I miss?"

"Well took you long enough." Lai retorted, "Nothing much, more or less attempting to get to know each other since you told neither of us about each other." She gave him a accusing look, "plus of course I figured out the reason why you whined so much about my one shower day."

Matthew rolled his eyes slightly, "What did you want a written biography of each other?" He chuckled. "Sorry... Surprise?"
