Sapience versus Sentience
((This one gets confused a lot in sci-fi, so I figured it deserved mention))
Sapience: Ability to act intelligently, applying knowledge to reach decisions.
Sentience: Ability to "feel" emotions, and experience events subjectively.
Artificial intelligences are sapient, but not necessarily sentient. Pet rabbits are sentient, but usually not sapient. Keepers, humans, and other humanoid species are usually both sapient and sentient.
