"Your brother seems so jumpy, he must have a hard time dealing with other people's thoughts," Ethan said. He nodded, "I think most of the people on Vestia went to the protest. A few might have stayed here, I'd guess Sawna and Esk did, but otherwise there probably aren't many people here right now. It's been quiet in the library all day." Not that he minded that, quiet was pretty relaxing.

Silence nodded "Brother not good with noise in head." She didn't fully comprehend Ivor's issues to be fair. "spend too long in hospital, lots of bad minds." She shook her head. "Don't think did him good."

Ethan frowned. "A hospital? You mean the kind for crazy people?" That was rough, he didn't like imagining the sort of things you'd hear in the minds of people at one of those places. Although maybe mental hospitals weren't quite as awful in this universe as they were in his universe? Hmm. "That explains a lot."

Ethan shook his head, he still thought that it was dumb for someone to not tell the difference between telepathy and insanity. Of course, he never had been the greatest at putting himself in other people's shoes. "Well here he is, the way he is, I guess. Too late to give him a normal childhood now."

Ethan nodded. Poor Ivor, he kinda felt sorry for the guy. "So do you want any audiobooks or something while you're here?" He asked. Hey, this was a library after all. And he was better at books than sympathy.

Silence looked around at all the books, then shook her head. "no."

Esk had sat and watched the news unfold with mild, dulled interest. He had no real vested interest in this beyond 'slavery is wrong', and he wasn't the sort to really care about groups as a whole. But he watched because if something went wrong he needed to be sure the crew was going to get back safe.

The more he watched, the more convinced he was they were gonna come back angry, exhausted and miserable. Not a good combo. He made a note to avoid Kay, more than he already did, and maybe not be a dick to James for a few days. You know, just to avoid getting punched. Ahem.

At least he was learning some vague people skills huh?

Between news casts he tried to make sense of this psych book, but it was really dry reading.

Mourn may have finally hit a breakthrough on the united code, he just needed someone to test it on. Unfortunately all his willing volunteers were a bit distracted. Dang.

So he went to sleep instead by way of celebration.

Asher nodded. "That's true. I think Starr's right, we should try contacting our friend and see if she can help. We want to limit damage as much as we can while we're waiting for the Terran Empire to make up their minds."

They'd probably reach Vestia around then.

Starr nodded then smiled "If she could simply re-route the androids to an address I could give her, that would be good to keep them safe while the Terrans make up their mind."

Asher was almost grateful that Matt seemed so upset about this. After those months when he'd been so reluctant to see Asher as a sentient being, it was nice to know that he and his kind were recognized.

He followed Starr onto Vestia, nodding when she spoke, "Yes, sending the androids to another location might be a good option. My concern would be whether people might be distracted from the cause when they found out androids were going missing, but it still might be the best option."

"Better than them being turned from slaves to brainwashed slaves," James muttered.

He'd snoop through the recently checked out books list for a while, then read the news. Damn, that stupid protest was going to be a mess, wasn't it? Ugh.

"It's me," Asher said, "Three-Seven-Five-Four. You're speaking to my owner. We wanted to discuss the recall." There were probably hundreds of other androids named Asher, so it was quicker to use his number right now.

"Oh," Celia said, sounding less worried. "Nice work at the protest today, I'm feeling unusually motherly and proud right now. How can I help you guys?"

(They're on speakerphone, I hope?)
