Hytar's Ship

Vicky was busy setting up her quarters, after some negotiations and the like she had join Hytar group for a while. Busily she set up her gaming system, though knew since the new upgrade she wouldn't be playing all night. While many races found sleep annoying she found it delightful being able to do it now.

They chirped and circled her and Shane until Shane shifted to play with them too.

"They like you captain" One of the females said, coming closer to Tala. "Did you want to play with them?"

Tala smiled in that peculiar bovid way of hers. She could feel the emotions radiating off the little dragons, and just like pretty much everybody else who had heard a baby dragon's thoughts, she liked them. "What do they like to play?" she asked the mother dragon.

She chuckled then shrugged her wings "Anything with climbing or running or jumping right now. They aren't old enough to practice flying yet, but they still like to run around and be as high as we allow."

"They are already athletic, this is good," Tala said. She shifted to sit down on the ground, legs stretched awkwardly in front of her, and held out one hand so that the hatchlings could climb up if they wanted. "In my tribe, such precociousness is the sign of a great warrior."

The babies came over to her, eagerly climbing on her hand. There were four of them that had hatched, and all four wanted to play with the big minotour.

"That is normal development for us." The female said with a chuckle.

"It is still possible they will be great warriors someday," Tala said. She lifted her hand slowly so they wouldn't lose their balance. "Greetings, small ones."

"That is very possible" The female agreed happily.
The babies chirped happily at her, looking from her face and then down at the floor and back.

"Do you desire to go down, small ones?" Tala asked. She tried sending them an image of the idea of up and the idea of down, so they could hopefully send the one they wanted to her. It was tricky to communicate with such young creatures.

'Up' The oldest one thought back to her and bounced a little on her hand. She couldn't bounce much without dislodging one of the others. The next oldest moved to her arm, holding on there with his tail as well as he could.

Tala lifted her arm up a bit so the dragons could climb up it a bit more easily. Since she didn't wear shirts, there was no fabric for their claws to dig into, but her fur was thick and coarse, so hopefully they could hang on reasonably well. "Be careful not to make the younger ones fall," she told the older ones, "Such would make your mothers and fathers most displeased with me." She wiggled her ears a bit.

The babies laughed and held onto her as well as they could, letting the two younger stay on her hand as the female moved to join the male on her arm,holding on with their tails happily as she lifted them up a little higher.

"Soon you will get to see Vestia, the most glorious ship in the galaxy," Tala told them, letting them climb her as much as they wanted. "In scarce more weeks we shall reach Vestia, and you shall meet her, and her crew, and the kindly queen of your people." She didn't know how much they understood, but she hoped they'd get the idea this was a good thing.

The babies didn't understand that much, but they did understand that it made her happy, so they were happy and started playing, though they did try not to fall off

Tala let them play on her for a while. She liked this diversion from her regular day, since she couldn't read and she didn't think a captain should dance on her ship. It was nice. "I must leave soon, young ones, you must regress to the floor now," she said, lowering her hand to the ground.

They looked at her and tilted their heads at the new word but got down after looking to the female nearby. They dispersed, each going to one parent to curl up with them, yawning now.

Tala cow-smiled at the parents. "The voyage is long, but you shall enjoy Vestia when we arrive. Be well, dragons!"

"Be well" The female said as they settled in to let the babies nap. Shane stayed in there, talking to one of them quietly

Tala left the parents and went to go check over the ship. She didn't really need to probably, but she liked to make sure things were in order on her ship. She'd probably mildly annoy a couple of her crew and watch the pilot a bit too long, but oh well, it kept her busy.

The dragons were doing their best with running this ship, and doing well even without the supervision from Tala. If it was annoying, they didn't say anything about it, even the pilot.

Tala was quite pleased with her very patient new crew. They were almost better than the Celestial Tiger crew, she thought. Also the ceilings in here were higher.

The pilot glanced over to her after a while and smiled "You seem happy captain" He said then looked back at the screens in front of him.

"We draw closer to our destination, and the young dragons are strong. Things are well," Tala said. "Are you also glad?"

(Does he have a name, btw? Tala would probably know it by now)

Dax nodded and chuckled "Yeah, things are much better now" He agreed happily

Tala nodded, pleased that Dax shared her good mood. "There was no honor amongst your captors. They did not deserve your service. Your freedom pleases the righteous of all people."

Dax frowned at the reminder and shook his head "No, they had no honor, and we had nothing to fight for. Now we have a queen and our future to fight for."

"That is as it should be," Tala proclaimed. "With a people and a cause, it is easy to feel courage and hope."

Dax nodded again "We were missing that hope, now we have that back again.
