Upon Vestia: Chapter Nineteen

(Day 11 I think)

Luka laughed. "You're so weird James." She nudged him playfully. "ALL feet are weird. "

"Yeah, but some people think women feet are hot, thus the glass slippers," James said. They headed for the ramp. "No man ever wore a glass slipper and was admired for it."

"Yeah but those guys are weird." Luka shrugged. "Maybe you could start a trend for hot male glass shoes." She snickered.

"Hmm," James laughed. "I like the way you think, Luka!"

(To the capitol!)

Moone came flying in, not landing until she had to then taking off at a run for Starr's room to talk to her. "Starr, you gotta come now, Esk and Luka and James got hurt by some minotaurs. Esk was bleeding a lot and wasn't moving. The peacekeepers had them all frozen where they stood." She said very quickly

Starr looked up in surprise then calmly gathered the babies into their bag and handed the bag to Moone before shifting "Lead the way" She said and would follow Moone back to the capital.

(From the capitol)

James lead Moone and Luka and the baby dragons back onto Vestia, and 'breathed' a sigh of relief to be out of the public. "Come on, let's head to the med bay," he said quietly. "You gotta get those scratches cleaned, Luka."

Moone had fallen silent, just staying close to them both on the way back. Now she looked up to Vestia then around again "I don't care if this place is 'safe' I won't stay here longer than we have to" She stated then headed to the baby room to let the dragons play together.

Luka remained quiet and sullen. she didn't much want to have to explain this to the medics. She shook her head. "they're just cuts, get me some ice.. it'll be fine." She just wanted to go hide in her room.

Vestia watched Moone, concerned. Yeah, she'd overheard what Moone had told Starr earlier. Poor kid shouldn't have ever seen that. SHe turned her lights a soothing orange hue in sympathy.

"Yeah, maybe. Still, you don't wanna risk an infection," James said firmly. He gripped Luka's arm gently and steered her toward the med bay.

Luka dug her heels in. "James.. please." Her eyes were puffy from crying. "I can't face them."

Moone looked up to the lights as they changed colors. "I'm glad you don't judge because of differences we can't help." She said quietly. "They were so mean to Luka out there, just because of what she is, without caring about who she is."

James sighed, watching Luka for a few long moments. "Luka, please. I can't patch you up very well with my right hand out of business. Find Dawn I guess, she can help you out," he said after a moment. "You need medical attention though, okay?"

"Some people are jerks," Vestia agreed sadly.

Moone sighed and nodded, curling up on a couch and looking to the dragon babies, who wouldn't go play, they curled up around and on Moone, chirping and trying to make Moone feel better.

Luka frowned. "It's not that bad." She protested. She wasn't sure she could face Dawn either. How'd you explain that your temper and pride had gotten the guy she had a crush on hurt? No, Dawn wasn't an option either. "get your hand fixed okay?" She'd go find some ice and a first aid kit, there had to be one around somewhere.

James sighed and nodded. "Okay, and then I'm gonna bandage you up like a mummy, no arguments allowed," he joked weakly. He turned and headed for the med bay to face his brother.

Luka nodded. "yeah..." She forced a weak smile, which hurt her bruised face and headed off to the kitchen for some ice to make an ice pack out of.

Kay was still working away at the computer when James wandered in. He looked up quizically as James came in. Oh good, just James, not someone stupidly injured... right?

Matt had returned from his walk with Thalia and she'd gone to have a lie down. Poor Thalia, she was so tired lately.

He headed off to Sawna's cafe to see if anyone was about and figure out if she actually served anything he could drink.

The fox usually sunbathed on the windowsill of Vestia, but today was different. Third growled as he was dizzily forced awake and swooned over, falling off the windowsill with a loud thud. The negative force... resentment... isolation... anger... so much of it... it clouded his mind as he shakily stood and shook his head. Quinn's black coat turned a pale blue as he fully took over, the other persona undisturbed by this awful, awful tidal wave of emotions. Usually he would scoff at their misery, his cluttered and corrupted mind no longer caring the way it used to, but for some reason, this was different. Maybe because the crew was growing on him. Maybe because he was closer to the Leash now. Maybe it was his own accord. Who knew. The pale blue todd, wobbly on his paws, traversed the hallway to the closest source -- Moone.

Sawna was in her cafe, though she had decorated it for the festival tonight. Even if it was not until night, she still liked to be festive if she could. Dawn was at a table drinking and paging through a book, one not medically related.

Moone was still in the nursery, petting the dragons gently as she lay there, curled up on the couch's arm as much as she could with her wings held close to her back.

Asher looked up from his star dragon book as James came in. "James? What's wrong?" he asked, noting the unhappy look on his brother's face.

"Minotaurs," James muttered.

Asher frowned. "What?"

"Some minotaurs got pissed off at seeing Luka, they picked a fight with her, me and Esk tried to help her. Luka's okay, I'm gonna bandage her up because she can't stand the thought of talking to either of you," he added hastily. "I got my shoulder pulverized by a minotaur fist, so I need that fixed so I can help Luka. Esk is in the Guild hospital, Starr made sure he was all right," he finished.

Third padded into the nursery lazily, watching the group for a moment before he joined the group on the couch, his gentle paws hardly making a sound as the white and red face watched them with surprisingly gentle green eyes. He still said nothing for a moment as he waited to be noticed.

Matt waved to Sawna and Dawn. "Hey guys." He looked around. "Festive. Good to see the arts and crafts room gets put to good use." He grinned at Sawna and came over to the counter. "How's business going?"

Kay paused, watching and listening to James carefully. He frowned.
[Hospital? Is he alright?]

"He got," James paused, trying to figure out how to put this tastefully, "Tossed against a wall by a minotaur, and stepped on by a pegasus." Nope, didn't sound good. "They were stabilizing his condition when I left, I'd guess he had a concussion and a broken arm but I can't confirm that."

Kay's eyes widened. [Is he conscious? ] He rose from his chair. Stabilizing did NOT sound good, especially not for just a concussion. He looked seriously concerned.

"Not conscious when I left," James said.

Asher frowned. "We should go check on him then," he said worriedly.

Moone eventually looked up, jumping a little when she saw Third there "Oh, um, hi" She said, sitting up a bit

Kay nodded. [You sort your brother out, you're the only one who really knows how to fix it.] He looked anxious, chewing his lip nervously. He had to go, he couldn't not rush to his brother's side. But he knew it meant going to the capitol and dealing with the mood altering full moon. gulp.
He shook his head and didn't give Asher a chance to protest, he rushed off down the hall.

[Vestia, get Matt, tell him what's happened and to meet me at the ramp.]
