Upon Vestia: Chapter Eighteen

Asher smiled as the other two went back to their meal. They made eating look like the greatest thing ever, and it was adorable. He watched Danika climb up Kay, which was even cuter. "They grow up so fast," he joked.

Ethan came into the coffee shop.

Ellie looked up at him and glared.

He glared back.

Ellie turned away to resume drinking her coffee.

Ethan, deciding to ignore Ellie too, went to see what Amity and Sawna were doing.

Esk watched the exchange between Ellie and Ethan with interest, mmm, something happened there. Curious.

Amity smiled at Ethan as he noticed him. "Hello again." He hesitated as he fetched the information, then added "Ethan, it's good to see you again."

Armin chuckled but as it was getting crowded and he didn't really consume coffee or cake, he nodded to Sawna and made his way for the exit. "Good luck to you my friend." he told her as he left, heading back to his room to resume his work.

Sawna chuckled and pointed to each choice, naming them off for him then telling him they all fell under the same category of 'snacks' before looking to Ethan and smiling at him "Good morning Ethan"

Starr chuckled and nodded "That they do. Now that they have started talking, they will be learning more words and phrases from us, both in how we speak to one another and in what our 'top' thoughts are." She said then grinned at Kay "So be ready for her to say 'She's cute' or 'so cute' or whatever it is you think when she does something cute" No, she hadn't been reading his mind, just his expressions and what she thought at that time too. Starr then picked out a few pieces of the meat and handed them to Asher "She's going to be hungry, she didn't finish her meal."

Ethan smiled his odd smile at Amity and Sawna in greeting. "I didn't expect it to be so busy in here," he said. "Training Amity to help you out, Sawna?"

Sawna shrugged "He has questions, so I am trying to answer them. If he wants to help, he can, and if he doesn't, well, he will know more about what they eat and drink" She said, motioning to the room. Yeah, the three currently at the bar couldn't eat or drink anything she sold.

Kay looked a bit awkward and averted his gaze from Starr. Ahem.
Food? He asked Danika, gesturing at the meat.

Amity listened attentively to all of the descriptions, smiling softly and nodding. "I'm lending assistance." He told Ethan happily.

Asher took the pieces of meat and went over to Danika and Kay again. He looked amused. Yep, those baby dragons must be hearing the word 'cute' so much lately. "Maybe you should eat on the table, so you don't get Kay's clothes dirty," he told Danika. Maybe she even understood a word or two now!

"Very good," Ethan said, nodding. He watched Amity thoughtfully, "He's going to take a lot of training. Can you train and work at the same time?"

"Food" Danica agreed, looking to Asher then at the meat he had. "Food" Yep, even if she didn't understand what he said, him having the food close to the table was clear enough for her to relax her tail and crawl down to eat on the table.

Sawna chuckled and looked to Ethan "Looking for a second job Ethan?" She asked cheerfully "But no, if it stays busy I wouldn't have time to teach everything about this. But there is a lot of information in the library on cafe's." She should know, she had spent a lot of time reading before night had fallen.

Asher couldn't help laughing a bit at Danika's excitement about the food. Once she reached the table, he handed her a peace of meat. "Good food?" he asked her.

Ethan shook his head hastily. "I don't think I could handle being a barista," he said. He eyed the espresso machine in spite of himself, "I wonder if people like their coffee the same way..." he almost said, 'in this universe', but corrected himself, "Out here."

Danika took the meat then looked up at Asher, tilting her head "Good food?" She mimicked him curiously

Sawna smiled then motioned to the book "If you know the recipe, you can look it up in here."

"Good food," Asher agreed, nodding. "At least, I hope it is." He handed her another piece.

Yeah, Ethan was curious. He went and began looking through the book. Hmm, his knowledge did seem to match well with what was here.
A part of him was curious to try making coffee drinks again. It had been such a long time since he'd had to try doing foam art. His last few owners hadn't been very interested in the aesthetics of their caffeination, they'd just wanted it to be strong and not to take too long to make. Funny, that.

"Good food, good food" Danika said cheerfully, turning it into a short almost song then eating the meat.

Sawna smiled at Ethan then looked to the customers to see if any needed refills or wanted to try something else.

Esk put his feet up on a coffee table and just watched everyone quietly. He was good at that.

Amity smiled but was quite clearly way out of his depth here and had no idea what was going on.

Kay laughed silently at Danika's singing.

Asher smiled at Danika's sort of song. "Exactly," he told her. He petted her a bit as he fed her the last pieces of food.

Ellie went over to the counter. "Can I get a white chocolate mocha? Can you do that? Do you have white chocolate?" she asked.

Ethan rolled his eyes. White chocolate mochas. Of course she liked white chocolate mochas.

"Don't forget to add sprinkles and excessive food colouring!" Esk called, snickering. As far as he was concerned, if it wasn't artifically coloured, sweetened and probably really bad for your health it wasn't part of Ellie's diet right?

Kay wondered if he was making that annoying whining squeeing telepathic 'noise' Ellie's mind made when she saw dragons. He shook his head and tore his gaze away from the adorableness of Asher and Danika and focused on getting his plate put away.

Sawna chuckled and nodded, turning to make the drink. She liked having all this new equipment to work with here. "We so have white chocolate, and here's your mocha." She said, handing it over when it was done.

Danika chirped, happily finishing off the food then looking to Kay, yeah, he was making that 'aww, cute' thought again, but she was used to that and liked it.

Ethan smirked at Esk's commentary. "Don't forget the maraschino cherries."

Ellie stuck out her tongue at Esk, then at Ethan too. She took the mocha when it was done, happily tossing some money in the tip jar. "Thanks Sawna!"

Asher couldn't hear Kay's telepathic squeeing, but he could read Kay's expression just fine. He grinned. Good, he wasn't the only one who found all this adorable.

Kay looked a bit awkward, smiling softly at Asher. Since Starr had brought it up, he was a bit embarrassed. Being all d'aaw was not dignified damnit.

"Forget the cherries, just dump a load of syrup in there." Esk smirked back at Ethan.

Sawna listened to the banter between the two and smiled, shaking her head a little before turning to Rigel to get his order.

Danika finished her meat and looked to Kay, tilting her head at him.

Starr nodded and played with the older two a little "With Ellie especially. I think that's all she thinks when she's near the babies. 'Aww, cute'." She chuckled and shook her head "But then, who isn't thinking that that has seen them?" She knew she did, a lot.

Ethan snorted. "Then again, there's no reason to choose. Throw it all in." He peered into the display case with interest.

Ellie drank her mocha happily. "You're just jealous, Ethan. So are you, Esk."

Asher smiled fondly at the dragons. "They can't hear me, but I think it all the time," he said brightly. Nope, no shame here. He thought they were adorable and he didn't much care if people knew it.

Esk snorted. "mm hmm."
He settled back in his seat.

Kay smiled awkwardly. [I have a reputation to maintain.] He told Asher jokingly, but he subconsciously threw up mental barriers anyway. Having Starr picking up his surface thoughts brought back unpleasant memories.

He came over to pet Danika on the head reassuringly.

Starr glanced over to him then looked to Kerr and Vela again, changing the subject now "Have you two seen the new cafe yet?"

Sawna looked over her customers, glad to see them so happy and playful. Yep, this was a great idea so far.

"There's a cafe now?" Asher said curiously. "I had no idea." Maybe he should socialize more to get the news.

Ethan started wiping down a table. It wasn't his job to do that, it was just habit.

Amity bustled around collecting empty mugs and plates. Tidy tidy!

Kay blinked. [Cafe?]

"Vestia told us when we came out of the room this morning." Starr said and chuckled. "I am headed there now that these little ones are fed."

"Sounds nice," Asher said, smiling. "It's good to see more people setting up shop here."

Sawna was glad for the help in cleaning, taking the dishes to be put in the dishwasher, out of sight of the main part of the room then coming back out

Starr nodded "Come along if you want to see it with me" She offered as she stood, getting the two babies to sit on her shoulders

Danika moved closer to Kay, chirping at him.
